Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday apartment in Santa Croce - Artemìsia
Venetian style charming apart absolutely comfortable up to 6 adult people
The apartment is on two floors and is easy to get to as the nearest “Vaporetto” stop is a two minute walk away, and the stairway is wide and easily accessible. The entrance hall welcomes visitors into an elegant and well-lit sitting room, furnished to a very high standard with a large comfortable sofa and other designer objects, which blend well with the warm pastel colour of the walls and the wooden floor adorned with valuable carpets. From the sitting room you pass through an attractive aperture with a wooden beam, into the large dining room with adjacent kitchen which is both well-lit and functional. From the dining room, next to the stairs which lead to the upper floor, you have access to the night area on the first floor, where there is a spacious double bedroom and bathroom.
Going up the wooden stairs you come to the second floor of the apartment on which there is a double bedroom, a double bedroom with two single beds and bathroom.
Full presentation sheet on demand.
Ask to the owner: Send your enquiry, you will receive a full presentation sheet of Artemìsia apart with pictures, descriptions, plan of the apart, positioning etc.
Group of 6 adults (3 couples). We spent 4 nights in this beautiful apart. Quick and safe deal, nice welcome, superb apart. As we were 6 adults we were a bit worried about available space. We have been surprised by apart’s large surface and nice areas distribution. In fact it is split in 2 levels: a really large living area + double bedroom and large bathroom on the first level, night area (2 double + bathroom) on the second. This layout allowed our group to have a really pleasant stay as we didn’t disturb each other and we got lovely dinners all-together. Furthermore apart’s furnitures are really de-luxe (my wife was enchanted by bathrooms!) and its position is the most comfortable for visiting. We had a really really nice stay in Artemisia apart. We also visited surroundings (beautiful!) and we found lot of family-run small restaurants and shops. We warmly suggest La Zucca restaurant, our favourite (Mrs.Martina welcomed us at arrival and provided us lot of surprising addresses) We warmly suggest this accomodation to groups or families looking for a really convenient de luxe accommodation in one of the most charming venetian areas (we visited the whole town and we decided we were in the best area). Family of 5 (3 teens) third time with self-catering. We found this apart and after a quick and nice deal with the Owner we confirmed it. Safe payments (bank) and absolutely clear and satisfying infos. We set a meeting at San Stae waterbus stop, where we met Andrea representative, Mrs. Alice. She was absolutely on time, she drove us to the apart (2 minutes, no bridges to cross with our heavy luggages) and she also gave us some family-run Restaurants tips in the nearby. The apart itself was WOW, large, quiet, finely furnished, I would say perfect. It completely matched and also overtook our expectances. I told to my husband it was much more better than our apart in Moscow, he answered me we could take inspiration by and transfer it to (I am still waiting!). Concerning service, even if it was a self-catering apart, it was ok. We found abundant bed-linen and towels in the apart, we received a full apart’s overview at check-in, everything was perfectly working (air-conditioning, wi-fi, satellite TV, washers, etc…). We had an electric shut-down, we called the on-site manager and they sent us a person that teached us how to solve the issue (really easy). Apart’s position is amazing, 3 minutes walking from Rialto’s and its open-air market, quiet and no massive touristic area. We really appreciated it. Finally we had a great stay in this apart: its features and position let our family have its best holidays ever! Thank u to Andrea and his Team. Definetly recomended. Galikov Family Moscow, Russia
We are usual self-catering aparts users and this is our third time in Venice with the same Owner. This time we decided to spend a week-end in Venice with our childs. We contacted the Owner and he proposed us this beautiful 3 bedrooms. We received a deailed brochure with everything an also description of surroundings. Due to its features and position we decided it was our first choice. After an usual quick deal with the Owner we booked it. We arrived by plane in the afternoon, we caught the Alilaguna waterbus service (Orange Line) and we directly reached San Stae stop (really comfortable, also for departure) where we met the person charged for our check-in. She drove us to the apart, less than 3 minutes walking, and we got our check-in. The apart is a deluxe apart, large size, extremely comfortable, bright and quiet. When we got in my children were delighted and my husband, usually really critical, was too. The apart was really clean and perfectly appointed. We discovered a fully equipped kitchen (I took inspiration for our personal kitchen in Germany!). The area was really charming, quiet and no massive touristic, full of nice hidden family-run restaurants and shops. Finally we would suggest this property to those looking for a price but anyway deluxe accommodation in the hearth of Venice. We warmly recommend this property to everybody. Roeschelein Family Germany
Our family of 5 (3 teens) had a terrible experience dealing with the owner of this apartment. We arranged for 3 nights in Artemis months before our planned arrival. 2 nights before we were supposed to arrive in Venice we received an email saying the apartment would not be available the first of the 3 night due to a plumbing problem. We were offered two alternative apartments, both of considerably lower quality than this one. We had little choice but to agree, having no other arrangements. On arrival to Venice we phoned the contact as instructed and met up with her. She met with us and led us to the apartment we would be in for 1 night, explaining that she was new and had actually never been in this particular apartment before. There was a heat wave when we were in Venice and when we got into the apartment it was sweltering hot - unbearable. We asked if there was A/C and she said no. So we pointed to the A/C units in several of the rooms and she said "Oh I guess there is A/C". However we couldn't get any of the A/C units to turn on. She was ready to leave us like that until we refused to stay in that apartment (which was run down and dingy) in such conditions. She reluctantly called the owner and after ~ 1 hr of fiddling around couldn't get the A/C to work. We were offered 2 choices - stay in the A/C-less apt for free or go to yet another apt which did have A/C. We chose the (now 3rd) apt with A/C. She told us she had to get the keys and went off, returning after about 30 minutes with the WRONG KEYS. We then had to wait again for another 30 minutes until somebody let us into the 3rd apartment. This apt's A/C worked well, and it was nice enough but far less than we expected based on Artemis' description. We were told we would receive a rate reduction given the decreased quality of this apartment (But we were told it "wouldn't be much" of a reduction - tacky!). The next morning we were to move to Artemis at long last. We asked to have somebody move our bags for us as we wanted to go and actually see Venice after all of this - the owner declined stating that there is a luggage union in Venice which prevented anybody from helping us. Artemis was very nice indeed, though the Wifi can only have 3 devices on at a time. To this point owner has yet to refund us any money for our first night. A true professional would not have charged us for that first night at all. Very disappointed - would seriously consider avoiding this apt and owner.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest, I was proceeding to get your Review erased by HomeAway staff as part of a racketeering attempt (your e-mails are clear) then I thought it was better to keep it and explain to future guests how NOT to use Reviews. Reviews are not made to blackmail Owners. Reviews are not made out of spite. Reviews are not made to talk about everything: u would just have to talk about property and service to wich the advert refers to, also taking in account that u are talking about self-catering and overall PRIVATE properties, of the low price u decided to take (and took) advantage. In your case u used Reviews for racketeering pourposes, then u used it to made out of spite, finally u talked about another property and another service. This is exactly how not to use Reviews. As u know Venice is a 1600 yo town and, overall, aparts are private aparts. It happens we can have some issues and we cannot quickly solve it due to the fact that in Venice u need a permission also just for a nail (it is an open-air museum). Furthermore guests, not really understanding where they are, sometimes forget our reccomendations and create huge damages. In your case: - Previous guet heavily chocked toilets and it took lot of time (permissions) to solve it - U have been prevented 4 days before. - U have been informed u had 3 possibilities: ask for an immediate and complete refund, get a complete apart’s change, keep the last 2 nights reservation and spend the first night in another apart. U choosed to keep your reservation so I asked to my on-site colleague and she sorted out a nice 3 bedrooms, (usually never rented for just 1 night, high management costs as cleanings, check-in/out, bed linen and towels etc…) just to let me have a favor. What happened then is something not depending by me. It was not my apart nor my service. I am wondering why u decided to post a so silly Review on my property? Your arguments regards another property and another service! Anyway by your Review it come that: - We are really responsible people, we never abandon our guests even if sometimes persons like u do not appreciate it and try to damage us AFTER their stay with racketeering pourposes. - Our property Artemìsia is a really high quality accommodation: otherwise u would not have forgotten to talk about it.
Finally, even if your Review regards another property and another service, I really thank u to let me have the chance to explode some important and useful arguments. Andrea Artemìsia Owner&Manager
When corresponding with the owner/management(?) prior to leasing the property I explained that we were 5 senior ladies some with knee, back or hip problems so we could not climb stairs with luggage. He assured me it was an easy flight which I suppose he meant inside the apartment. It was 2 1/2 flights up steep steps. We had to pay someone to get our luggage up. He also had us get off the waterbus at a stop that was not marked, etc. rather than having us get off at the Riata so we would be in an area that someone could direct us to the apt. I couldn't keep the covers on me at night as the upstairs bedroom was on such a slant and the beds were very uncomfortable. The washing machine would not ring the clothes and when I left him a message and asked him what to do I never received an answer so we had to wring our clothes out by hand. We were told we had American channels on the tv but we could not get it to work as there were no batteries in one of the two remotes we had to use. I feel like we were lied to and cheated out of our last 4 days in Italy which had been wonderful up to that point. We stayed in apartments in Rome and Florence and were furnished maps, etc. so we would know how to get to the places we wanted to go. We were furnished with nothing in this apartment. I would not recommend this apartment to anyone going to Venice. I hate that I have to give it a one star review when it should have been a 0 star. Bobette

Owner's Response: Dear Bobette, I really thank u for your kind Review. What comes out, much more than by an enthusiastic Review, is that Artemisia is just a good apartment. In fact, if it was not so perfect a person like you would have many more topics, and much more serious and less childish to justify his bad evaluation. Well, it seems u think to be a princess and u did not understand what is a self-catering and private apart. First of all YES in Venice u have to walk, I regret. Then, due to your enquiry u received a full apart's brochure were all is well explained (apart’s description, features, pictures (also window views pics!), nice and clear plan, positioning map, address etc...). Why u choosed Artemìsia (and Venice) if u and your friends cannot neither climb few stairs? U have to decide and choose by yourself, u are supposed to be an adult. Artemìsia is a beautiful and highly requested apart, I’m wondering why I would have to lay u on?! I never did it and never will do. Furthermore it seems u got a bit confused: - Artemìsia is absolutely a 1st floor apart. As well explained it is on 2 floors: living area + main bedroom and bathroom on one floor, 2 bedrooms & bathroom on the other floor, a really appreciated layout that is underlined in every part of the brochure. - there are no “not marked” waterbus stops in Venice, u had to get off at San Stae stop (as well reported in your rental contract, second page, check-in procedure). Are u saying SAN STAE stop on the Grand Canal is not marked? Wow… - Artemìsia has a good satellite TV u can see every channel u desire. U just have to be a bit smart and switch the “decoder” on (there is also an instruction sheet). - Maps? Venice is a touristic town full of tourist offices where u can easily find everything. Why u didn’t get a map of Venice by yourself? If u didn’t’ carry it u could find it everywhere in the town, it is a touristic town. Nobody promised u nothing and u neither asked for it. We are not tourist operators and u didn’t buy a service pack/organized trip, just a self-catering apart (de-luxe yes but always self-catering). We gave u directions on restaurants & shops in the nearby but, in order to visit, u have to be organized by yourself. Finally we really thank u for this useful Review. We will keep your suggestions and will use it to enhance. Andrew Artemìsia Owner & Manager
A pleasing apartment but so let down by poor service. 3 night stay. We were asked to confirm our arrival time and ensured we were there 10 minutes in advance. Our guide arrived one hour late but only after having phoned to enquire where they were. We were a family of adults. We found no iron and advised the guide on arrival. They promised one for the Saturday morning but nothing ever arrived despite follow up phone messages and texts. No towel in the kitchen. Crockery and glassware was dirty and needed to be washed before use - with no towel to dry them. Pillows too thin for comfort. Shower not powerful enough for ladies to rinse long hair. No PC. Also I wrote to both owners and neither responded. Really disappointed.

Owner's Response: Dear Guest,
first of all thank u for your kind and helpful Review.
I'd like just quickly comment on the "poor" service u complained for.
Arrival/Check-in: u were asked to communicate your scheduled arrival time in Venice.
U were also asked to call the arrival number once arriving in Venice, not when u
already were there. We need it to organize check-in as in Venice u can just walk
or take a slow public transports.
U did not inform me about your scheduled arrival time, as requested several times.
U called my on-site collegue with no warning, when u already were in Venice.
U just arrived with no advance notice to nobody.
So check-in delay (not an hour as u said, just 40 minutes), althought acceptable,
is fully your blame.
Dirty cockery: it was 2 weeks the house were not used due to an urgent manteinance
we had to complete. What u call "dirty crockery" was just some light dust u could easily remove
just quickly rinsing crockery u needed.
It is not agreable I know, but it was just a case.
PC: what are u talking about? No PC has been promised, never.
I have no PC in my houses, just Internet devices (guests usually bring their
own PC or Tablet or Smartphone or else).
I am sure u got wrong but, if u let me know where u read about it, it would be helpful.
Towels: I presume u are talking about dishclothes? Well, in Artemìsia there is
a dishclothes full stock in the chest behind the oven. U can see it by the pics.
I think u had a misunderstanding with my on-site colleague, as well as for Iron
because there are 2 full Irony sets in the apart.
Pillows comfort is subjective and low pressure water can happen in such an Old Town
as Venice is. No other guests, never, got complaining on this.
Finally, and I'm sure of that, u never called or e-mailed me when u were in the apart
asking for my intervention to "save" u from the "hard" situation u were in.
U just wrote an unuseful (for solving) late complaining e-mail, 3 days after your stay.
So do not say "I wrote to both Owners and neither respond", it seems u wrote us
during your stay and nobody answered u. It never happened, all my guest are followed
and if u just sent me a text message or e-mail I could do something, but u didn't.
Finally, even if I feel arguments a bit ostensible (just a bit), I thank u for your
really helpful Review.
On the second floor of a historical building in the heart of the most beautiful and elegant part of Venice. The building is, in fact, just a few steps away from the Cà Pesaro, a magnificent building in the Baroque style, one of the most beautiful in the city, and houses a permanent Modern Art exhibition, among one of the most prestigious in the world, together with many other temporary exhibitions of art and Venetian culture. The quarter, even though central and close to all the interesting places to visit in the city, is not the usual mass tourist target, it still preserves the charm and sensations of time gone by, it is considered the most elegant and exclusive quarter of Venice. Penetrating the quiet narrow streets, “calli”, around the building one discovers the “campi” (the characteristic small squares of Venice) with their old fashioned flavour and the small family-run restaurants which offer menus of exclusive special dishes of local tradition.
