St. Siffret is a tiny and charming hill-side hamlet a few kilometres from Uzes. Many of the homes have been beautifully preserved, and carefully restored. There are a few small shops, a café, a bar, and a restaurant. It is a pleasure to stroll its historic streets and walk to its neighbouring villages. It is also possible to walk to Uzes, for its world-class market, wonderful shops, and excellent (of course) restaurants. There is a 9 hole golf course in Uzès itself, plus larger greens in both Nimes and Avignon. Tennis courts and horse riding Are nearby. There is even hot air ballooning in a local village! A wonderful experience is to canoe down the River Gardon and under the monumental Pont du Gard.
Nearby Uzes is one of the most historic of Provencal towns, one of the most beautiful, and one of the best preserved. Its market is famed all over France. Don't miss it, for the best of French local produce, home made jams, charcuterie, local tapenades, spices, cheeses, and much more.
Golf: There is an 8 hole course at Uzes, and full courses near Nimes, and near Avignon.
