Eden is set in the foothills of the Caldeirao Mountain Range, 800m from the Monte-Rei golf Resort and minutes from the endless beaches of the Eastern Algarve.
Just 10 minutes by car you will find the historic town of Tavira who's history dates back to 2000BC, a must to have a meal in one of the myriad of restaurants overlooking the old Roman bridge, or a stroll through one of the original quaint cobbled streets.
Minutes from Eden is the Blue flag beach of Manta Rota with its golden beaches that stretch for miles, this is the only beach that has direct access as the Ria Formosa Nature reserve stops just before Manta Rota.
Castro Marim lies just 10 minutes from the villa and sits on the banks of the Guadiana river and is still dominated by the castle and fort built in the 10th century.
A little further you will find Vila Real built around a traditional town square with orange trees and elegant 18th century town houses. Look directly over the river and you will see Ayamonte in Spain.
Golf: An abundance of great golf courses lie just a short distance from the villa. Needing little introduction Monte - Rei has risen meteorically in standings to be the No 1 golf course in Portugal and number 10 in Europe. A course not to be missed that oozes class from the moment you enter the gates. Expensive it is but well worth the challenge to the avid golfer. Afterwards your game spoil yourself with a drink in the sumptuous clubhouse or a meal in the Jamie Perez restaurant.
Quinta de Ria and Quinta de Cima are a 6 minute drive from the villa, Ria is built very close to the Ria Formosa and affords spectacular views from certain holes, it is moderately long and has plenty of well placed water hazards. Cima is considered the championship course of the two, is long with plenty of key bunkers and undulating greens.
Quinta do Vale - Built recently and overseen by Sevi Ballesteros the course has been carved out in a natural valley that has breathtaking scenery through to the Guadiana River and onto the landmark bridge that separates Portugal from Spain. A superb challenging course that you will not be disappointed with.
