Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Olhao - Blue and White Cottage
Two bed, two shower room, sitting room, kitchen/diner, two terraces
This simply furnished small house on three floors has been recently renovated. It has a great deal of charm, with built-in furniture and comfortable double beds. Supplied with all the basics for a holiday home. Located five minutes from everything including the sea, in the middle of a residential area in the old part of the town of small houses with a few shops and cafes. A lively bar in the street (not open late) adds much character. The ground floor opens to a sitting room with TV/DVD/HIfi, leading to a curtained bedroom with hanging/storage space. One shower room/ WC on this floor. Steep stairs to middle floor kitchen/dining area and a similar bedroom and second larger shower room/ WC with washing machine. The kitchen has a small fridge, and table top oven/grill, and two ring hob, and is fully equipped. Outside is a covered south-facing terrace with a dining/sitting area. Steep outside stairs to the top floor wooden studio and covered porch leading to another small terrace. The studio is available to artists on special request. Not suitable for children under twelve as stairs are steep and the bedrooms are on different floors. Sleeps four. Internet access.
The top floor studio : The Studio is normally locked and cannot be used for sleeping. It is available to artists to use on request.
Terraces: The terraces face the sun most of the day, and offer enjoyable warmth in the spring and autumn. A sunshade is available for the summer months, and the main terrace is covered.
Fans and heaters: The bedrooms have ceiling fans for the summer, and it is possible to be quite cool inside, because of the thick walls. The small rooms are easy to heat in the winter. Guests who stay in the winter may be charged extra for electricity.

I am an artist, and I share my time in Portugal and England. I love it here in Olhao, because it doesn´t seem like a tourist place, and yet has all the benefits of being on holiday. Life goes on throughout the year, and yet even in December you can sometimes eat fish outside near the sea in the sunshine.
Antonia purchased this house in 2010
Why Antonia chose Olhao
I bought this house as a ruin, as I could see how to make it into a charming but small cottage in rural Greek style that would be pleasant to be in on holiday. I had a lot of fun doing it up, and trying to make the most of the small spaces
What makes this house unique
People who have stayed there found it comfortable, easy to manage, different, with a good feeling. It is best for younger people who want to be out and about, and come back to a house to enjoy being in.......not for people who want to stay at home much. (The music which is sometimes played in the bar on the corner can be a bit annoying)
