Our detached, spacious, Turkish Villa is set within its own gardens with a private pool in the charming village of Uzumlu. Within a 15 minute drive you will find yourself in the bustling town of Fethiye, or a short drive from the beach and lagoon area of Olu Deniz. With a 10 minute walk to Uzumlu village you will find several shops and restaurants. Beyaz Ev, meaning The White House has the following facilities: 3 double bedrooms all with air conditioning and stunning views from each window, 3 additional double bed settees, 3 bathrooms, a vast covered terrace overlooking the pool with amazing views, its own private swimming pool and garden, and ample parking for at least 4 cars. 2 good quality adult mountain bikes and wifi. The Living Room includes a TV and DVD and is exceptionally spacious with an open fire place, a dining area and open plan kitchen which includes a washing machine and dish washer. Outside you will find the large terrace with a table seating 8 adults and also a BBQ.
About Uzumlu & Getting There: Uzumlu is a quiet tranquil village just a 15 minute drive into the mountains from Fethiye, a bustling harbour town. The journey along the gentle winding road follows a stream cut into the mountain rock, along which there are many water fountains flowing with natural spring water. You will often see families stopped at these sites filling up their water bottles for the day ahead! As you arrive in Uzumlu, you are greeted by olive groves, fields of vegetables, and amongst many other fruits, an abundance of pomegranates and prickly pear trees. You will suddenly find yourself surrounded by stunning views of the impressive mountain range and National Park.
The village centre has many traditional Turkish houses where you will often find families sitting selling their hand made crafts and fresh produce on their door steps. There are many flights from various airports to Dalaman-50 mins away. It is recommended to have car hire from the airport and we can arrange this or transfers for you.
Other Nearby Places to Visit: Hisaronu and Ovacik are located just outside Olu Deniz. Hisaronu has numerous nightclubs and bars and many restaurants to suit any palette. You will also find many clothes, jewellery and gift stores. Ovacik is more of a residential area with a high street lined with bars serving a range of traditional Turkish and English food.
Kaya is an ancient village containing the ruins of 2000 stone houses, all of which were abandoned in 1912 by its Greek inhabitants. It is known as the Ghost Town, and well worth a visit. Within the Ghost Town are a couple of recommended wine houses, and the British owned horse riding stables, Perma Ranch, is also located there.
A short drive from Uzumlu is the ancient city of Cadianda. Cadianda is a Roman city which has been partially excavated to reveal extensive ruins which include Roman baths, tombs, a stadium, theatre, and water cisterns.
Gocek is an up market marina town in the most magnificent setting. It is favoured by many celebrities and the yachting community. Tlos is a Roman ruin set on a rocky summit which has over 200 tombs built into it. There is an ancient amphitheatre where you will still find much Roman writing carved into stone. The remains found there have been dated back to the 4th century. Saklikent Gorge is one of the worlds' most narrow gorges, it was discovered in 1989 and is now a national park. Here you will find a number of restaurants where you can sit at your Turkish table and dangle your feet into the gorges' water which flows beneath you. For a small fee you can cross the bridge into the gorge and enjoy a walk through the waters. Or amongst other activities, take a river rapid trip on a raft.
