Photos and Description of this 3 bedroom holiday villa in Uzumlu - Beyaz Ev
Self catering villa with three bedrooms and additional beds to sleep up to 10

Our detached, spacious, Turkish Villa is set within its own gardens with a private pool in the charming village of Uzumlu. Within a 15 minute drive you will find yourself in the bustling town of Fethiye, or a short drive from the beach and lagoon area of Olu Deniz. With a 10 minute walk to Uzumlu village you will find several shops and restaurants. Beyaz Ev, meaning The White House has the following facilities: 3 double bedrooms all with air conditioning and stunning views from each window, 3 additional double bed settees, 3 bathrooms, a vast covered terrace overlooking the pool with amazing views, its own private swimming pool and garden, and ample parking for at least 4 cars. 2 good quality adult mountain bikes and wifi. The Living Room includes a TV and DVD and is exceptionally spacious with an open fire place, a dining area and open plan kitchen which includes a washing machine and dish washer. Outside you will find the large terrace with a table seating 8 adults and also a BBQ.

About Uzumlu & Getting There: Uzumlu is a quiet tranquil village just a 15 minute drive into the mountains from Fethiye, a bustling harbour town. The journey along the gentle winding road follows a stream cut into the mountain rock, along which there are many water fountains flowing with natural spring water. You will often see families stopped at these sites filling up their water bottles for the day ahead! As you arrive in Uzumlu, you are greeted by olive groves, fields of vegetables, and amongst many other fruits, an abundance of pomegranates and prickly pear trees. You will suddenly find yourself surrounded by stunning views of the impressive mountain range and National Park.

The village centre has many traditional Turkish houses where you will often find families sitting selling their hand made crafts and fresh produce on their door steps. There are many flights from various airports to Dalaman-50 mins away. It is recommended to have car hire from the airport and we can arrange this or transfers for you.

Other Nearby Places to Visit: Hisaronu and Ovacik are located just outside Olu Deniz. Hisaronu has numerous nightclubs and bars and many restaurants to suit any palette. You will also find many clothes, jewellery and gift stores. Ovacik is more of a residential area with a high street lined with bars serving a range of traditional Turkish and English food.

Kaya is an ancient village containing the ruins of 2000 stone houses, all of which were abandoned in 1912 by its Greek inhabitants. It is known as the Ghost Town, and well worth a visit. Within the Ghost Town are a couple of recommended wine houses, and the British owned horse riding stables, Perma Ranch, is also located there.

A short drive from Uzumlu is the ancient city of Cadianda. Cadianda is a Roman city which has been partially excavated to reveal extensive ruins which include Roman baths, tombs, a stadium, theatre, and water cisterns.

Gocek is an up market marina town in the most magnificent setting. It is favoured by many celebrities and the yachting community. Tlos is a Roman ruin set on a rocky summit which has over 200 tombs built into it. There is an ancient amphitheatre where you will still find much Roman writing carved into stone. The remains found there have been dated back to the 4th century. Saklikent Gorge is one of the worlds' most narrow gorges, it was discovered in 1989 and is now a national park. Here you will find a number of restaurants where you can sit at your Turkish table and dangle your feet into the gorges' water which flows beneath you. For a small fee you can cross the bridge into the gorge and enjoy a walk through the waters. Or amongst other activities, take a river rapid trip on a raft. We will be pleased to give you advice on where best to visit.

Spacious, private villa with stunning views

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 31 August 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
This is a lovely spacious, well-equipped villa in a peaceful village but within easy reach of the beaches and nightlife around Fethiye - we've stayed in plenty of villas over the years and I would thoroughly recommend Beyaz Ev.

What made our stay really special for us was Alex and Matt who are such genuine people and go to such lengths to help, both before and during our stay. They seem to share the Turkish spirit of hospitality which is the thing we love most about the country and this gave our visit a really personal touch. They know the area incredibly well and when they say people in a restaurant or on a boat are their friends, they really mean it (some have even been to stay with them in England) so do take them up on any of their recommendations.

The villa itself is very big and airy, with a well-equipped kitchen and a huge veranda with fantastic views over the vally to the hills beyond. There's a good pool which is not overllooked, with plenty of space around it. It's also much cooler in Uzumlu than down on the coast which made the nights much more bearable. There wasn't a mosquito in sight which meant we could sleep with the windows open and be woken by the clinking of bells as the goats were taken up to the pastures in the morning past the back of the house.

Uzumlu itself has a proper square and enough bars and restaurants to provide some variety if you decide to eat there but you shouldn't miss buying fish in the Fish Market in Fethiye and taking it to the fruit and veg market next door and having it cooked there, away from the fishy smells.

The ruins at Cadiana (or Kadyanda) are a revelation. You drive up for about 20 mins up a pretty rough road but as you are among the pine forest it is lovely and cool up there and completely devoid of tourists (or it was at 10am-12 noon). You climb up a steep winding path and then come upon the most amazing amphitheatre, forum etc hidden amongst the trees, with astonishing views all the way to Fethiye. Even if you're not into historic ruins, we would recommend this.

I don't normally write reviews after I've been on holiday but I always look at them and thought I'd make an exception as we had such a lovely time. Hope you like your stay as much as we did!

Fantastic Holiday

Review Submitted: 26 August 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
We have all had a fantastic 2 weeks in your villa. The accommodation is perfect especially the pool and terrace.
We loved the mixture of exploring, Saklikent gorge, Cadianda, kaya Koy (ghost village), several beaches, boat trips and paragliding, with relaxing meals. Our favourite in Uzumlu was 'The Olive Garden' but we also loved your recommendation of the restaurant in the fish market in Fethiye. we enjoyed some amazing fish there.

Thank you for all your help and information.

We loved our holiday

Review Submitted: 06 November 2011 Date of Stay: August 2011

Too much to mention- it has all been so lovely- great house in a fan setting. The mountains and the beaches are stunning, and all within an easy drive (once the roundabouts have been conquered.)
We all had favourite days and favourite places- so my advice is explore and enjoy. If you wish to paraglide - don't leave it till the end of the holiday when the wind may be too strong and in our friends case had to be cancelled. My husband and daughter managed to paraglide and thought it was fantastic- the journey to the top of the mountain was also interesting!! It was worth every penny. Our favourite restaurant in the village was Alya's, but all were very good.
This has been our first holiday in Turkey and we leave with happy memories of a beautiful, friendly country.

A totally amazing week!!
The villa and it's surroundings Are stunning and
Make for a wonderful relaxing holiday.
We had great intentions to get out and about and see all the surrounding areas, however the life of the swimming pool was too great and spent most of our week just enjoying the beauty of 'Beyaz Ev'.
One day we did venture to Saklikent which was a great adventure...paddling through ice cold water and discovering the most amazing gorge. A must for anyone visiting here. We have felt totally at home here and can't wait to come back next year!
Thank you Matt and Alex for everything.
