|Minimum Stay||7 - 14 nights|
Situated in the Minervois the village of Castelnau-d'Aude is a stones through away from our property. The village lies in the Aude valley on a small hillock between the Canal du Midi and the Aude River. The Pyrenees lie to the west and the Montagne Noir to the east.
On 4500m2 are two completely seperate houses, surrounded by trees, shrubs and flowers, especially in the spacious terraces of the house, further large carport.
The property is newly developed to an extremely high standard (you need only a tooth-brush and personal belongings!!!!! for All-in is All-in) and is ideal for that family ((1-6 persons, with inside and outside tables and chairs for 6 persons, and even for both terasses)) self catering holiday. we believe that a summer holiday should be for all the family, and provide a BBQ, plancha and wok for the chef! Dishwasher, Washing machine and other appliances make your stay that little bit easier. If you are looking for a rural location, quiet peaceful with stunning views over vineyards and well developed and maintained gardens then write us a mail..
Note! i a beautiful swimmingpool (daily cleaned), solar heated, a current stream and a roof with gliding panels, swimming from APRIL up to and including OCTOBER.. Use of the pool is completely private; owners do not swim with the quests and most of the time early in the morning and late.
Golf court ( 18 holes): Carcassonne has a beautiful situated 18-holes golf court, which is at an easy distance from Castelnaud'Aude.
This home is appropriate for young and old, to our regret excepted handicapped people, for there is a staircase in the villa.
Attention: we have a house for six persons and a baby or little child counts also for one person in our perception!
The house is very complete, no need to bring your own linen, kitchen utensils etc. Look at our own website in which you will find the list of inventory : www.petitparadislanguedocroussillon.com and www.petitparadislanguedocroussillon.nl
As an extra service we give you weekly clean linen for the beds, so NO NEED to wash the bedlinen!
Finally you will find all the cleaning products for the machines, kitchen and toilet!
Attention: no waterwasting boxershorts in the pool!!
our former life was always 'filled' with people, at work and at home.So our next step in France wasn't quite so difficult. After building our own home we planned ' Petit Paradis'.
Within two years we reached our goal.
It's a place to share with our family, friends and quests.
A beautiful landscape, historical and cultural very attractif for us and for you!
Lucia Spaander purchased this villa in 2008
Ihe property is lying in a beautiful and calm region; it's chosen for the rest and silence, but..............
if you like shopping centers, towns, mountains and sea they are not far away and easy and within a short time to reach
We devellopped the houses and the garden self and with such a great pleasure!
It was a very interesting and creative process which has given us a lot of satisfaction.
The difficulty for us was the placing of the pool, but looking at the pictures we think that we were right.
We had the time of our life wIth the family! You really have everything you need in the house and the pool was great! It was very clean and the outside kitchen is fantastic! The owners are friendly and helpfull. We surely go back because we only stayed one week and we want to see so much more of the area.
We chose this villa because we were going to France so early in the year and thought the covered pool would be an asset - how right we were! We did have some fantastic weather but on those "iffy" days we could still sit by the pool, reading a book, enjoying the scenery and even having a dip because it is heated. Overall this was one of the most relaxing holidays we've ever had - the villa is so well equipped, you literally could turn up with a bottle of suncream and want for nothing. It was ideally situated for cycling to, and then along, the Canal du Midi, in both directions. The village is a five minute drive away and has a brilliantly stocked supermarket and a great little bakery. We visited lots of other little villages in the region and thoroughly enjoyed Carcassonne - both within the walled city and in the town centre itself. The main bedroom in the villa is a very generous size while the other two bedrooms suffer a little from low ceilings - however, our 16 and 14 year old sons managed quite well.
1 teenager and 1 youngster meant we had to have somewhere to keep both entertained while allowing myself and my wife to relax. I am happy to say that this villa had it all from a private swimming pool for the youngsters to a shaded area for us to sit down and enjoy the warm sunshine. The pool was immaculate and well kept - check out the bubbles !!
The villa does have everything u could ask for and Lucia and Leendert were always at hand to help us make our stay as comfortable as possible while allowing us space to ourselves. Not surprisingly u will need a car to get around but lezignan is a few km away where u can get any food essentials u require.
Lucia's recommendations for food were excellent -- Narbonne's "Le Buffet" is highly recommended as is "La Peniche" at Homps. There is plenty to see and do in the area.
i would highly recommend this property
Family from iRELAND
We were a party of Six, Three adults, Two teenagers and our youngest, Eight years old. Petit Paradis is a beautifully well equipped holiday home with everything you'll require to make your stay a pleasant one. Living accommodation was very comfortable and an enjoyable place to spend an evening. The swimming pool was superb, very clean and fitted with a jet stream strong enough to swim against. The cover made for a very warm environment on the cooler days and is retractable on the hotter ones.
The location and region has everything that you could possibly ask for. The owners live in close proximity but allow you your own privacy. The garden area supplies plenty of shade if you like sitting out of the sun, however I found it too shaded. There are other areas suitable for bathing and loungers, chairs and tables are supplied, but on the down side they feel detached from everywhere else. The main bedroom is quite large with ample storage space, the two smaller bedrooms are suitable for younger children but not for adults.
There are some fantastic restaurants in the area and plenty of shops a short drive away if you decide to eat in. there are some fantastic food markets as well as some delicious inexpensive wines. We have been to the region each year for the last four years and still find plenty to do as well as seeing some fantastic sights. A car is a definite must have for this region wherever you stay. Thank you Lucia and Leendert
With 3 children from teenage to a four year old, the property and the location have everything that you could possibly ask for. We used the swimming pool virtually every day in April. The cover really does provide a longer swimming season. The owners are on hand, but you have total privacy and use of the pool from breakfast time until evening.
The house should appeal to anyone who loves France but appreciates bright, contemporary interiors with a good use of colour and texture. The outside eating areas add greatly to usable space and can be thought of as two additional rooms. Bedrooms are not large, but this is a holiday house and this is not a problem.
The kitchen is a great place to cook. There is everything that you would want down to herbs and balsamic vinegar. The equipment is new and spotlessly clean.
The outstanding feature of the house is the thought that has gone into the equipment provided, we really could not think of anything that was missing. Even shower gel and toothpaste are there if you have forgotten your own.
There is so much to do in the surrounding area for all interests ad ages that a 40km radius is almost the farthest that we traveled in the two weeks.
If you arrive on a Saturday, make sure that you get to the small Intermarche in La Redorte before it shuts at lunchtime on the Sunday - its only a 10 min drive. Other shops are not open on the Sunday.
This property was very accurately described, and was a beautiful, light and airy house (with air conditioning - very useful in August!). The gardens around the house are very pretty, and the house is positioned next to the owner's property, but several hundred metres back from a fairly minor road, so it is secluded and peaceful. The pool is just a few steps from the door, and we used it every day - great for cooling off in the heat. I would definitely recommend the property to a friend (though not to anyone infirm, as the stairs are quite steep). The property is close to the edge of a tiny village, and the surrounding countryside is mostly composed of vineyards, with many lovely walks, and wild almonds, blackberries and figs quite common.
The owners were very kind and welcoming to us, and will be able to advise you on suitable places to visit, and to offer useful local knowledge (for example, to arrive at Carcassonne old town at around 8am to be able to park, and to look around before it becomes completley packed with tourists).
They have also provided folders of leaflets on local attractions, including restaurants.
We enjoyed :
- Carcassone old town (try the little 'train' ride around the outside of the walls with headphone commentary in a huge range of languages)
- Rennes le Chateau - a village high on a hill (to the south) with magnificent views
- Caves and deep cavern at Limousin (near Carcassonne)
- Boat trip down the Canal du Midi from Homps (15 minutes drive from the property)
But there are many other attractions!
Minervois, Canal du Midi, Narbonne, Beaches, Vineyards ,Carcassonne, La Redorte(shopping at 4,5km, Perpignan, Montpellier ).,mountains at short distance -Montagne Noir and the Pyrenees , lac de Jouarres, historical and cultural very interesting and a lot to do.
Beautiful nature and nearby possibilities for walking. at short distance you a have a tennis-court
Swimming: sea, lac and private pool.
Pool with high covering /gliding panels, ideal for early spring untill autumn! excellent for little children
solar heated, You can already swim from April till November!
