Walking & Bird Watching: The landscape of rural Andalucía is breathtaking and one of the best ways to appreciate its diversity and beauty is on foot. There are few designated footpaths, as well as those inside the national and natural parks, and it can be disconcerting to find yourself suddenly in a field and surrounded by bulls or wandering though an area which has apparently been designated for hunting purposes. Private hunting land occurs throughout Andalucía, usually marked by little diagonal black-and-white signs, often near ‘Coto privada’ or ‘Coto de caza’ (hunting) signs, but if there’s a marked path on your map and you’re not hunting illegally, you are allowed to use it.

I recomend good footwear, a hat and suncream and a large quantity of water if you are planing on undertaking a long walk as the sun can get extremely hot in the summer

KITE SURFING in Estepona & Tarifa: TARIFA Kite surfing is the latest extreme sport, involving racing over water on a board propelled by a kite. Experts can achieve speeds of 80km per hour and leap into the air to perform somersaults and manoeuvres up to 40m from the water's surface.

There is also kite surfing in Estepona (just when you enter Estepona on the right!)

The beaches in tarifa are second to none in spain. wide sweeping beaches with a view over africa and the atlas mountains, tarifa I would recomend as a place to visit. perfect for a family day out to the beach or for people out looking for watersports.

The beach opposite the apartment is a perfect spot, secluded so you have more privacy. a short swim off the beach there is coral and a wide variety of fish which makes for perfect snorkling conditions. along the beach there are also beach bars/restaurants which provide food/drink beachside. in the summer you would be struggling to find much better!!

Estepona Golf (Estepona) no need to book with breakfast. Valderrama Golf Club (Sotogrande) 0034 956791200, Atalaya Golf (Benahavis) , Los Flamingos (Cancelada) , Los Naranjos Golf (Nueva Andalucia) , Guadalmina Club de Golf (Guadalmina) .

There are 43 golf courses in the area. La Duquesa Golf is the nearest which is just 5-10 mins drive. Estepona is a 15 mins drive uphill.

Gold clubs are set in spectacular mountainous settings all well irrigated and lanscaped giving a great golfing experiance aswel as beautiful scenery

Ski: Sierra Nevada is 3 hrs away drive through the outskirts of GRANADA. Has beautiful ski slopes and numerous runs of varying difficulties to satisfy all standards. It is the most southerly ski resort in Europe and is small in comparison to other European resorts. Even so, the resort hosted the 1996 world ski championships.

Due to the location the Sierra Nevada usually has exceptionally sunny weather, seeing people sunbathing halfway up the slopes is not uncommon!! this resort provides a different skiing experiance!

The Sierra Nevada ski resort has a surprisingly active nightlife in the Sierra Nevada resort. Spaniards have a reputation for being night owls and this can be witnessed even in a skiing resort. Most of the visitors come from Madrid and the cities of Andalucía, so weekends and banks holidays are particularly busy.

  • The main bedroom is very spacious, being larger than other apartments. There is a built in wardrobe which, inside has a chest of drawers. Plenty of hangers too! There is also plenty of storage in the twofre standing furniture units in the main bedroom area. There is an en-suite attached to the main bedroom, which has a full size bath and shower, complete with a shower screen over the bath. The 2nd bedroom, again is spacious and being larger than other aparments. There is a built in wardrobe which, inside, has a chest of drawers. Again, plenty of hangers! All beds come fully made and there are plenty of bed sheets, duvet covers and pillow-cases. Both bedrooms have sliding patio doors which open to the balcony area. Both patio doors are fitted with secure shutters, ensuring the apartment is kept cool and you are able to sleep through, without the bright sun waking you up!

Notes: The complex is suitable for elderly as there is a lift to the apartment & an underground remote control garage, with elevator access to the apartment. Our apartment is on the ground floor and easily accessible from all the outside areas. There are lovely walks around the surrounding countryside & along the promenades in the surrounding Spanish coastal towns.
