Quite and idyllic; Fantastic view towards the Atlantic Ocean and Cabo da Roca;
Situated between Sintra and Cascais (15 km), a good location to explore the area;
The small city of Sintra, only 7 kms away, (perhaps better known in English in the older spelling of Cintra) lies between Lisbon and the Atlantic on a promontory of land between two gorges on the north side of the wellwooded Serra de Sintra. With its beautiful setting and equable climate it was an early choice as the summer seat of the Portuguese royal family. The beauty of the scenery, combined with the magnificent subtropical vegetation and the nearness of the sea, is almost beyond compare, making Sintra one of the loveliest spots in the Iberian peninsula, wholly justifying Lord Byron's description of it as 'glorious Eden'.
Early in 1996 UNESCO included Sintra in its list of world cultural heritage sites. During the next few years increased efforts will be made to restore the town's unique architectural character and to ban private cars from the center in summer if possible
Guincho Beach (10km) - El Dorado for surfers, wind- and Kitesurfers
Between Cascais and Ulgueira, lies the well known Guincho Beach, which belongs to the natural Park of Sintra-Cascais. It is the perfect place for Windsurfer, because of the ideal combination of big waves and wind. That is the reason why international championships, like the 'guincho Wave Masters', a leg of the Kiteboard Pro Tour is held on this beach, attracting all the best kitesurfers in the world.
Recommended for golfers to play at Sintra (Belas/Beloura/Penha Longa) (10 km), Estoril (18 hole), Cascais (Quinta da Marinha) (20 km).

Beautiful area with restaurants and bars in 5 min drive; 'Moinho Dom Quixote' is a fabulous bar with a fantastic view towards Guincho and Cascais and is 5 min drive. Local restaurants offers fabulous cuisine;
Local market 5 min drive on weekends with fresh bread, fruits and vegetables;
Nice for those who wants to walk through the cliffs and mountains; Cabo da Roca is 10min drive away;
A very good place to stay if you want to explore the area of Lisbon, Sintra, Cascais and the west coast.
