The small jungle lodge "El Paraiso" (Paradise) lies on an idyllic river, El Tipire, surrounded by bamboo groves in a beautiful jungle scenery and not far from the Caribbean beach of Playa Grande. The most beautiful birds (parrots and many more) are also attraction of the house.
The house is ideal for families with children and also offers space for groups up to 17-21 people.
One of the rooms upstream large covered terrace provides plenty of shade and loads in rocking chairs, hammocks and armchairs to relax.
A nice pool with a small waterfall, the wonderfully blends into the natural, can be considered as the center of the house. The spacious, interestingly designed kitchen awaits guests who want to live out their cooking skills on request at a cooking class here.
For guests interested in cooking, painting, Pilates, dance therapy courses are offered under bamboo groves.
Beaches in the area: Playa Grande:
This is one of the most beautiful Playas Venezuela and close to our lodge (20 minutes). This fine-grained, exotic beach offers a 800m long palm backdrop and also invites for surfing.
This rustic beach, you can walk out of our lodge in about 15 minutes. reach. A short stroll will lead you past huge old trees virgin forest until they arrive then at the stone beach. A Bathing is possible but not recommended.
Playa El Diario:
This secluded beach is just a 45-minute walk or by boat. A small but well-trodden path takes them on a hill and from there another way enchanted always downhill towards the sea.
Further, accessible only by boat beaches are:
Valle Seco (15 min), Chuao (20 min), Cepe (25 min), Uricao (30 min.) Cata (40 min.), Puerto Mayo (1 hour), La Ciniega (1 ½ hours).
Henri Pittier National Park: If you stay in Choroni a trekking tour is an absolute 'must'. The Henri Pittier National Park is the first national park in the country and world famous for its cloud forest. A variety of plants as here you can hardly find it again. In the park you will find over 40% of Venezuela's birds (580 species) and lots of other animals such as howler monkeys, snakes, sloths, butterflies and many interesting insects. Pumas (El Tigre) are sighted in the national park from time to time.
This park is the oldest of Venezuela, founded in 1937 with the name of Rancho Grande, at the behest of the then President Eleazar Lopez Contreras. The park was renamed in 1953 after the Swiss botanist and ethnologist Henri Peltier. This Swiss botanist came to Venezuela in 1917 and has in his work over 30 000 plants in Venezuela determined. The Djungel Lodge El Paraiso is located in the middle of this biodiversity.

The colonial village Choroni is above the harbor of Puerto Colombia and the National Park Henri Pittier. Due to the long seclusion of the place many buildings have been preserved from the colonial era. 'Casa el Paraiso' is situated in an idyllic river in Puerto Colombia, 15 minutes walk from the beach and about 50 km away from Maracay in the national park and close to the coast. Also nearby you will find Chuao, which is only accessible from the sea. Chuao achieved world fame by the production and cultivation of his special cocoa.
Guests will find in Choroni / Puerto Colombia Caribbean flair, exuberant nature and exotic sensations. Small simple restaurants invite you to linger nightly and offer regional specialties.
