Self catering holiday apartment with private garden that sleeps up to 8 people

No. 1 The Breakwaters is the ground floor apartment in a three floor terraced Victorian Villa situated on the shore of the beautiful and historic village of Bonchurch. It has it’s own private garden affording totally uninterrupted views of the English Channel. It’s just you… the garden, 15ft of private road and then the beach!

The apartment has a large sitting room with a dining area in front of French doors that lead into the garden, a spacious, well appointed kitchen, a family sized bathroom with bath and shower. There is a double Master bedroom, a family room with twin single beds and a pair of bunk beds in addition to a single bedroom with shower en suite. It therefore sleeps 7 with the option of an eighth on a folding bed.

The apartment has recently been refurbished to a high standard and is equipped with washing machine, dishwasher, microwave, many kitchen appliances, TV, DVD, VHS and CD player. The garden has table and chairs and a gas barbecue.

Bonchurch, although a small village with a community of around 600, boasts some good eateries. We have a somewhat quaint and ‘oldie worldie’ Inn where Nino and Gillian will welcome you and provide you with excellent Italian food, The Bonchurch Manor hotel has a South Indian Kitchen, The Tiffin Room. The Leconfield Hotel and the Pond café (restaurant) also provide very nice food. The Pond Stores, where you can buy fresh bread and milk daily and top up on household necessities is also a post office. We also have a village Garage complete with mechanics!! should you need one!

A unique bonus!! Your next-door neighbour is one Mr Dave Scovell, who is our local fisherman and Longshoreman. He goes out most days during the summer and often during the winter months and catches excellent crab, lobster and the occasional Sea bass. A good person to know and his telephone number is on the information board in the flat.

It is only a short drive to Ventnor, Shanklin, Sandown, Ryde or even Newport.

Notes

  • Prices are based on 5-6 people. Reductions are available for less guests and there is a charge for more.
    Laundry/Linen change: £2.50 per person (after first week), Weekly clean: £12
    Normal minimum rental is 1 week / 7 days, Saturday to Saturday.
    Check in from ….. 2.00pm. (Please specify time of arrival). Check out up to … 10.00am.
    Shorter periods and different starting days are negotiable but are subject to availability and the time of the year. Reservations made within 4 wks of holiday start date will require full payment in advance.
    We have very few rules but would be grateful if you could respect the following:
    The Breakwaters is a non-smoking apartment.
    No candles please …in an old house, they are accidents waiting to happen.
    Respect the other residents and neighbours regarding noise levels of music etc.
    Keep all common ways clear of belongings i.e.: outer hall and pathway.
    Payment for breakages or accidental damage to be covered before departure.

  • The bathrooms have recently been renovated and are in an excellent condition. There is plenty of hot water and the linen is replaced each season and washed weekly.

  • The master bedroom has a 4ft 6 ins double bed and plenty of fitted wardrobe space for ‘him’ and for ‘her’. It also has a beautiful sea panorama. At the end of the hallway to your left is the family bedroom. Two full sized twin beds and double shortie bunks. There are a good selection of children’s books and games. The single bedroom has an en suite shower and overlooks the private garden and has stunning sea views. It has beds for 5 adults, 2 children and a baby (children's beds up to age 10, safety cot available on request), plus a substantial folding bed for 1 extra guest.
