Spacious self-contained part of a fully restored 18th century farmhouse 2 km from the picturesque village of Flayosc. The ground floor apartment has its own parking, entrance and spacious sun-terrace (60 m2). There are 2 large bedrooms, sleeps max 6, a bathroom with shower and WC, combined equipped kitchen and sitting room with fireplace. The rooms have been restored with lots of care with beams and some other details in the bedrooms originate from the 18th century.

The solar heated swimming pool (4x8) is entirely for the private use for the rental guests (the owners may go for a quick swim when it's very hot). The pool has a decent temperature between May and September (above 23 C).

The property is set in 10 acres of vineyard, olive trees and pine forest. The owners produce 200 bottles of excellent rosé wine.

There are plenty of nice walks near the property.

The property also has a 9 hole pitching course set in 2 ha (5 acres).

The area: Situated 2 kilometres from Flayosc, 7 kilometres west of Draguignan, 1 hour from Nice Airport. Only 40 mins away from the sandy beaches of the St. Tropez bay and the dramatic scenery of Gorges de Verdon. Perched medieval villages, olive mills, wine tasting and first class gourmet restaurants. There are 15 challenging golf courses within an hour's drive.

There are plenty of nice countryside walks near the house.

Staying in the Bastide is especially interesting for those looking to purchase a property in Provence, as we co-operate with a few selected estate agents at no extra cost to the buyer.

Flayosc: The village Flayosc is the perfect location to relax and enjoy the beauty of Provence, only 40 minutes away from the busy tourist spots of the coast. The village offers excellent shops for food, a weekly market, pharmacy, bank, several bars and restaurants, laundry/dry cleaner and wine cooperative.

It also has a tourist office offering excellent information about the area.

The Kahler-Norder family: We are a Swedish family of three, Jan, Lisa, Amanda (born in 1993) and Carmen, a giant schnautzer (born on 2005). We live here permanently and would be more than happy to give you plenty of advice regarding places worth visiting and tell you about our favouriteplaces, beaches & restaurants.

The apartment is situated on the ground floor and it's completely independent from our part of the house with entrances on the other side.

We have a small vineyard and produce 150 bottles of rosé wine. Whilst you're staying with us we'll invite you over for a glass (or two)!

Our vine harvest normally takes place some time during the first three weeks of September. You will be asked if you'd like to join us to pick and press the grapes. After a morning's hard work you're invited to have lunch with us at the old stone table. It's a great day with lots of fun.

About Elisabeth Kähler

We're a Swedish family living on the other side of this old farmhouse. After 8 years of working hard in the City of London we decided to take a break and buy a property tha needed renovation in the south of France. Our daughter Amanda was born in 1993 and we decided to stay on.

We have a small vineyard and every september rental guests are invited to harvest the vine followed by a delicious lunch buffet among friends!

Every week we invite our rental guests for an apéritif on the terrace, serving our own rosé!

Le Plan De Noyer

Following our one week stay in April, we returned to see if it was as good as we thought. Wrong!!! It was better!!

This time for two weeks we were accompanied by daughter and partner. Four adults and always ample room in all areas proving that the gite is extremely spacious. We found it, again, impeccably clean with everything exactly as described in the web sites.

The gite is part of a 200 yr. old farmhouse and is all that one thinks about with the word "Provence". It ia not a Canary Wharf Apartment! So, Lisa, please do not modernise anything as this would ruin the ambience.

Both bedrooms are very roomy with Swedish comfort beds.

The kitchen is true Provence with everything needed for all meals. Walk directly out onto the large patio for al fresco dining / BBQ with enough room to choose sun or shade as required.

Bathroom again Provencial but with new shower area - par excellence - with plentiful supply of hot water.

A short walk round to the south side reaches the stunning pool area, with views across flowers/shrubs/vines and olives to the nearby forests. The view is worth the stay alone. At this side of the property are the genial hosts, Lisa and Jan, who are ever ready to advise/help - and offer some of Jan's own rose wine. Also meet the friendliest of dogs - Callas and Carmen - to make the perfect convivial atmosphere.

If there is a fault with the gite and the provisions, then we could not find it!

Take a 5 min. drive / 20 min. stroll to Flayosc - a truly living village unspoilt by tourism. There are ample bars and resaurants and all shops for vast majority of requirments. Try dining at Cafe Du Midi / Vezzo D'Oglio / L'Ousteau / Cafe Meilse - all excellent.

Flayosc is deally situated for touring ... Gorge Du Verdon / Lac St. Crois / Moustiere / Tourtour / Villecruze(+ caves) are all "must see" as is the Riviera - St. Maxime and boat trrip to St. Tropez. All are easilly reached through superb scenery.

Then the markets - every day! Best are Aups, Salernes and Lorgues. So much to do / so little time!

Finally, take the 30 min. drive up the Gorge du Chateaudouble and dine on the terrace of the Restaurant La Tour at Chateaudouble. Superb food and view down the gorge.

Cannot praise the gite and Flayosc enough...

Think "Provence" = Think "Le Plan de Noyer"

the most perfect Provence family holiday

This property is in the loveliest area of Provence. We, a family of four, kids aged 9 and 12 really enjoyed the pool area and the vast nature around the property, the forests, the fields and a river! Lot´s of excursions in the area and only an hour away from the Riviera!

Lovely and warm family, Jan and Lisa took great care of us meeting up our smallest needs.

Familiar and very cosy

Me and my family had a lovely time at this cosy farmhouse. The location was perfect, it only took 5 min to take the car into Flayosc in the morning and buy some bread at the local bakery. It is close to other wonderful villages and also to the mountains and the sea. The house was very cosy, clean and with all the facilities that you can wish. We also spend time at the wonderful pool witch was nice and clean. The owners was very nice and realy made us feel welcome. They recomended places to go to and resturants to visit witch is very important when you never been to a place before. I would really recomend this place to all my friends and relatives and I really hope that I can retun some day. I really loved to be so close to everything and still be in the countryside. Perfect !!!!!!!

Clean, charming and generous space

A lovely estate in Provence. The place is very clean and comfortable, situated just outside a picturesque Provence village. If you like golf like we do there are several good courses to choose from only a short drive away.

The pool was a perfect place to relax after a day of site seeing and it was a welcome surprise when the owner invited us to a drink of their own wine produced from the grapes growing only meters from the pool.

We'll be back!

Le Plan de Noyer is situated 2 km west of Flayosc, 5 km west of Draguignan. It is just 1 hour (90 km) from Nice International Airport. It's 40 minutes by car to the St. Tropez bay (straight south of Flayosc) and 40 minutes to the St. Croix Lake with the Grand Canyon of Europe (straight north of Flayosc).

The area is called l'Arriere Pays by the French.

The solar heated swimming pool (4x 8) is entirely for the private use of the rental guests. However, the owners may go for a quick swim if it's very hot. N.B. Very comfortable, high quality Swedish beds (3 of the 5 beds are Dux beds). Third bedroom: we also have a small studio, right above the apartment, which sleeps two (double bed 1.40 x 2.00), with it's own shower room and kitchenette. The rent for the studio is between EUR 225 and 450, depending on the season. HOWEVER THE STUDIO CANNOT BE RENTED SEPARATELY.
