How about a vacation on a 200 year old estate in the southwest of the 'Emerald Isle'? Self-catering holiday or even half board in a comfortable 2-6 persons apartment on the rich fishing Lough Allua in untouched nature. Tirna Spideoga-the land of Robin, located between the villages Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary, in one of the few Irish-cultural enclaves on the island. The cottage is nestled in a huge natural park. Its location provides an ideal starting point for interesting trips, is very close to the Gougane Barra National Park. A trip are the port town of Bantry, the flower island 'Garinish Iceland' and Glengariff worth. This village is the starting point for a cruise on the Beara Peninsula over the Healy Pass. Time you should take for the most famous route, the Ring of Kerry.

Who would not want to spend his vacation in the car, which offers a varied program.

Ireland, the land of anglers and canoeists: The 10km long Lough Allua, the lake in our neighborhood, offers trout, pike, perch, fried fish etc. Our fishing boats, on request also with motor, as well as fishing shop and smokehouse, you are available at all times. Licenses are not needed here. We also organize weekly deep sea fishing trips for up to 30 different species of fish, such B conger, cod, pollack, ling, wrasse etc., but also various Haisorten such as the blue shark. vader/zoon vis trip

Samen met mijn zoon (13) zijn we 5 dagen te gast geweest bij Greg en zijn vrouw Sigi, Naast de fantastische vismogelijkheden zijn het ook enorm gastvrije en vriendelijke mensen. Greg is een Visgids met een hoofdletter V en zijn vrouw Kookt met een grote K. Na een dag zeevissen heeft zij onze vangst op een heerlijke wijze klaargemaakt. Ons eerste bezoek aan Ierland zal zeker een vervolg krijgen. Ook als u geen visser bent is de karakteristieke locatie prima in orde om op diverse manieren de omgeving te verkennen.

Schöne, erholsame Tage

Wir waren mit unsrem 14-jährigem Sohn für 5 Tage in 4-Personen-Appartement. Wir haben sie sehr genossen! Bei Sigis leckeres 3-Gänge-Menü am Abend wurden wir nicht nur wunderbar umsorgt, sondern es bot auch eine nette Gelegenheit mit den anderen Mietern in Kontakt zu treten.Greg und Sigi tun alles, damit man sich bei ihnen wohl fühlt. Herrliche 2 Wochen in Tir na Spideoga

Bei Sigi & Greg fühlten wir uns sofort heimisch. Das lag nicht nur an den urgemütlichen Cottages und der wunderschönen Umgebung. Die beiden Gastgeber haben alles für einen erholsamen Aufenthalt in ihrem Domizil gegeben. Wir haben die großartige Kochkunst von Sigi einfach nur genossen. Frisch geangelte Fische waren das Highlight beim Schmaus.
Es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Nächstes Jahr kommen wir mit Verstärkung wieder.
Wer von seinem Urlaub in Irland keinen 5 Sterne Bunker und goldene Wasserhähne erwartet, ist hier gut aufgehoben. Der urige und rustikale Charme der Anlage ist einzigartig. Zudem ist sie ein genialer Ausgangspunkt für viele schöne Ausflüge im Südwesten der grünen Insel.

Irland erleben und geniessen

Wir haben zusammen mit unserer 6jährigen Tochter 14 Tage bei Sigi&Greg verbracht.
Es hat uns allen sehr gut gefallen. Angefangen von dem urig/rustikalen und mit allem notwendigen ausgestattetem Cottage, bis hin zum spannenden Aussengelände und der günstigen Lage für eine Erkundung des wunderbaren Süd-Westen. Man sollte defintiv einen Leihwagen mieten, da man in relativ kurzer Zeit die herrlichen Prachtringe von Kerry&Beara sowie wirklich bombastische (!) Sandstrände am Atlantik besuchen kann.
Was diesen Urlaub neben der Schönheit Irlands für uns zu etwas besonderem gemacht hat, ist die Herzlichkeit mit der uns Sigi&Greg in ihrem Haus aufgenommen haben. Dies ist mit einem klassischen Hotelbetrieb nicht zu vergleichen. Neben dem sehr leckerem Essen (wenn wir einmal nicht selbst kochen oder Frühstück machen wollten), den vielen Tips und Serviceleistungen, haben wir auch die vielen anregenden Gespräche sehr genossen.

Wer somit das eher ursprüngliche Irland kennenlernen möchte und nicht einen 5 Sterne Bunker erwartet, wird sich hier wohlfühlen.

The thatched cottage is located above the lake, Lough Allua, between the villages Inchigeelagh and Ballingeary. This is a perfect starting point to explore the southwest of the 'Emerald Isle'. The Gougane Barra National Park is located 11km away, while the coastal road Ring of Kerry, Dingle, Beara Peninsula, the Mizen Head and Ships all in max. 1hr. be reached. On the nearby Lough Allua we rent rowboats on request with motor, as well as canoes, with which you can also paddle down the River Lee. We organize deep sea fishing trips, whale & dolphin boat trips, rent bikes, offer trail rides and riding lessons on our own horses with a riding area just behind the property. In our kl. Fishing shop you can purchase or rent fishing equipment, also is a smokehouse and filleting space available. Guides for all types of fishing can be organized, licenses are usually not necessary.

  • Our Cottage is over 200 years old and designed for 4persons. It is furnished for self-catering, 2 bedrooms and a shower / WC, satellite TV, kitchen and living area, and a veranda with BBQ. You can can cook on request. Breakfast (€ 6, -) and Meals (€ 9, - to € 12, -/3Gaenge Menu) can be ordered locally. Our large heated conservatory is all accessible to guests and serves as a restaurant but also a meeting point in the evening. The hot water is provided over a solar system and is thus mostly free. Moreover, the apartment has gas central heating, whose consumption is determined over a Gaszaehler. The price per square meter Gas is currently in Ireland at € 3,50. too, the stove / oven laueft about this Gaszaehler, and should in very bad weather, insufficient number produce hot water, the solar system, the central heating will take over the Warmwassrversorgung. Typical gas consumption is betw € 1, bis € 5/day.
