The Hayloft

  • 5 of 5

The Hayloft was a beautiful cottage with everything you could need for a family break. Home from home comforts included a welcome basket of goodies, TV with surround sound and plenty of games and DVDs to occupy us all. The kitchen was the best equipped in a holiday house we have stayed in and the beds were so comfortable too. The location was perfect to visit York and also within easy reach of the Yorkshire countryside. We would not hesitate to stay here again and can highly recommend it.

What a find!

  • 5 of 5

The Hayloft is a charming detached cottage, fully equipped with everything you could possibly want. It is very cosy and peaceful; the perfect place to relax. It is also an excellent base for visiting the local area; 15 minutes to the park and ride for easy access to York city centre. The visitors books in The Hayloft are testimony to how many people love this cottage as most guests are repeat bookings and we would definitely book again.

A Beautiful Place To Stay!

  • 5 of 5

My family and I had a wonderful week at the Hayloft. It's a beautiful conversion with lots of charm and attention to detail. The kitchen is very well equipped, all rooms very comfortable and immaculately clean. Many modern necessities are present including a couple of big televisions, surround sound, blu ray(with discs) and wifi to mention a few. The bedrooms are spacious and we all slept very well. The bathroom is very modern with a brilliant 2 person power shower! There is a very good local pub which is a short walk away along a canal. York is a short distance away.

We'd highly recommend a stay at the Hayloft and will book again ourselves when we next visit the area. The owners are very friendly and welcoming.

The Perfect place to stay!

  • 5 of 5

The Hayloft is beautifully furnished and very comfortable. The rural setting is great and is peaceful too. York, for the Railway Museum, shops and other attractions, is not far away. The market town of Pocklington is close by and a lovely place to visit.

Jan and Adrian have thought of everything and are great hosts. Will certainly recommend the Hayloft to friends and family and hope to make a return visit ourselves soon.

Perfect holiday cottage

  • 5 of 5

Just spent a fantastic week in the beautiful Hayloft. This stunning cottage was absolutely perfect for us, a real home from home with everything that we needed and with lots to do in the surrounding areas to keep our little girl (aged 7) well entertained. Hope to visit again soon.

A perfect holiday cottage!

  • 5 of 5

Everything was absolutely perfect at the Hayloft- it's a recent barn conversion, and no expense has been spared; everything's been finished immaculately and luxuriously. The lounge has a large television, surround sound and blu-ray player, and a great selection of films for rainy days and evenings! The wood-burner in the lounge area was a lovely treat, and was perfect for the November week we stayed there. Every convenience is provided; plenty of crockery and cookware of all kinds, an easy-to-use kitchen, comfy beds, and the optional home-cooked meal that awaited us on our evening arrival (we opted for the lasagne) was delicious. Our young daughter also enjoyed feeding the chickens our toast scraps every morning. Despite the fact that we were only a short drive from the Park and Ride to go into York City Centre (and a short hop across the moors to beautiful Whitby) the Hayloft felt like a real rural retreat, and a welcome break from our busy lives- it also feels very private, despite being part of the farmhouse buildings. We intend returning again soon, and would heartily recommend it to couples and families with young children (no stairs to worry about!).
