High ceilings on ground floor, over 3m. Note in the photos, the front door is over 3m high. This is a large house!
Tranquilly located in an oak forest. The 3000m2 walled garden was once the vegetable garden for the neighbouring chateau. The surrounding park is shared with the other properties and has pleasant tracks through the woods and paddocks.
40 acre private park: The property is part of a chateau estate. Rental includes walks in the 40 acre park which contains numerous historic buildings, including a chapel, stables and kennels. This park is shared with 5 other owners and a few horses, ponies and other pets. You will find it very tranquil and away from public roads. A plan of the park is available at the house indicating where the private zones are located.
The house has TV, DVD, CD players and iPhone (1,2,3,& 4) docks.
Numerous toys and games available, including badminton, petanque and croquet. Plenty of parking. Bar-B-Que.
Nice collection of rhododendrons, azaleas and camelias for visitors early in the year!
Facilities for very young children include 2 cots, high chair.
There are 2 double beds 4 single beds & a roll out bed.

It is 2km from local shops. 15km from Blois and Chaumont.
Close to many chateaux and wine producing areas.
Chateaux in the region include Blois, Chambord, Chaumont, Chenanceaux, Azay-les-Rideaux, Beauregard, Amboise, Cheverney and Clos-Lucé to name some of them.
Local wine regions include Vouvray, Torraine, Sancerre, and Chinon.
There are many local attractions including a museum and theatre of magic in Blois.

This is my former home. I now live in central London but spend as much time as I can here.
Mr Fraser purchased this chateau / country house in 1993
I bought this home to live in when I worked in the near by town of Blois. It is a very unusual and attractive location, which I am very attached to. It has been rated at the 4 star level under the new government standard for furnished holiday homes.
Tranquil setting on a private, historic chateau estate surrounded by an oak forest in a beautiful part of France with many chateaux to visit and other tourist attractions in this UNESCO listed region.
Arriving late at night we were not sure what to expect, but could not have been happier with what we found. The setting is very tranquil and the house provides plenty of space for a large group like ours. The children ranged from 6 to 15, but they all had fun playing in the pool or cycling to the local village and enjoying a game of tennis. We are used to having a view when holidaying in France, but the view here is the very pretty garden and delightful pool. We soon got very attached. Overall, great facilities if you want somewhere to relax and unwind. And if you are happy to jump in your car, some beautiful towns and chateaux are not so far away.
We first visited the Loire valley back in 2001. It has always been on our wish list to revisit again with the intention of going back to some of our favorites.
The property description was very accurate and the location, layout, facilities were as described. When we arrived the property was clean and maintained.
On our arrival we were greeted by a call the following morning from Nigel to check everything was ok which was terrific as there is nothing worse than wishing you could speak to someone to ask a few questions. Great Customer service
We would definitely recommend the property to a friend/relatives who are looking for somewhere tranquil.
We drove down through Le Mans and stayed the night at Mecure le Man which was perfect, had the most wonderful meal in a local restaurant Le Bistrot Sur le place in Le Mans, Superb, just what we needed, great food and a bottle of Chinon. On the way back we drove via Reims to stock up on Champagne. Great week, enjoyed by everyone.
Days filled with Horse riding, Visiting Chateaus, caves, lunching and relaxing by the pool.
We spent a wonderful long weekend here - the house was beautiful, very well appointed and the château estate is as peaceful and as picturesque as you would imagine. Blois, Chambord, Orleans, Amboise and Tours were all within easy reach by road and made for some excellent day trips. When we weren't out exploring the area we enjoyed exploring the estate on foot or simply relaxing by the pool - which gets plenty of sun and is set within the large, walled garden - it was nice not to be overlooked!
We've already been recommending the place to friends and family and would certainly like to return again.

Our group stayed in the house for a week towards the end of August, the weather was wonderful and it allowed us to enjoy the house and the surrounding estate as much as possible; the whole area is beautiful and very tranquil, as well as being very private and away from busy areas - very relaxing! The house itself is very spacious, with more than enough room for the six of us in the four bedrooms, all of which were spacious and beautifully presented. The garden was lovely to spend time in, the weather even allowed us to spend some time in the pool as it was rather warm. For food, we both walked and cycled to the nearby supermarket in Herbault, which took about a quarter of an hour by foot and five minutes on bike. The house is also very well located to visit some of the larger towns of the Loire region.
In short, this is a wonderful place to stay; both private enough for an incredibly tranquil holiday as well as being not too far removed from the rest of the area to have an active holiday, if that's what you want to do.
the house is located in a very quiet part of Loire Valley - with excellent access to castles, villages and forests around. However, after having installed ourselves in the house we didn't want to leave. The kitchen provides space for cooking group dinners, the bedrooms are spacious, the bathrooms as well. But the main reason for willing to stay in and around the house is the marvellous garden: while one can read in one corner, others are able to throw ball in another. The flowers gave all of it a happy feeling. The swimming pool is the cherry on the pie.
Inside the house various music installations do have the same effect as the garden corners: it doesn't feel like you are at one house - it seems like you are having various houses at your disposal.
Communication with the owner is pleasant and he seems to take care of you and your concerns, even when he himself is travelling.
The domain is to the west of Blois, to the north of Chaumont, mid-way between Orleans and Tours in the Loire Valley, a UNESCO Heritage site, with a large concentration of chateaux. Many nearby attractions including botanical gardens, forests, lakes, museums, golf courses, and equestrian centres.
It is 15 minutes from Blois which is a small historic city.
Other Activities: badminton, canoeing, visiting chateaux and vinyards, eating!
Golf: The nearest golf course is at Chouzy-Sur-Cisse, approximately 15 minutes drive south of the property.
