Guestbook comments from the owner
Dear Helen and Mike
Your Villa, the location, your hospitality, and the weather have all amounted to a perfect two weeks.
We loved the villa and it really suited all 3 generations-of course everyone loved the pool and the beautiful balcony views. We struggled each day to tear ourselves away from such a nice place.
That said,we can highly recommend the following :
1. Falasarna beach- which was windy but beautiful- lovely swimming( if a little cold at this time of year!)
2. Chania market and the Old harbor- so pretty even though a bit touristy.
3.A trip through the mountains to Elafonissi beach- scary but so amazing/breathtaking.Stop at the tavrna in Kefali and enjoy the view. Elafonissi is really good for children- safe, warm water and great sand.
4.Captain Nick's glass bottomed boat ( 2 hours trip)- hunt for mountain goats/ go snorkelling/ enjoy Nick's character/drive the boat.
5. Aptera- Near by is a good taverna mentioned at the 'Rough Guide to Crete'
6.Stavros beach- excellent for chirdren and you can have sunbeds and shades.
7- A walk to Galatas- fantastic shop with extremly helpful staff. They seem to have everything.Good butcher too.Helen and Mike recomended an excellent taverna and we had a superb meal there.
The children would like to thank you for the toys especially and it was really helpfull to have a play pen. Thanks too for the olive oil /wine/ recommendations /help
We loved it all !
