It is best known for its maritime history. Greenwich maritime connections were celebrated in the 20th century, with the sitting of the Cutty Sark and Gipsy Moth IV next to the river front.

The Meridian passing through the principal Transit Instrument at the Observatory at Greenwich was to be the 'initial meridian'. Giving its name to the Greenwich Meridian and Greenwich Mean Time (GMT).

The National Maritime Museum in Greenwich comprises three sites: the Maritime Galleries, the Royal Observatory and the Queen's House. Together these constitute one museum working to illustrate for everyone the importance of the sea, ships, time and the stars and their relationship with people.

Greenwich formed part of Kent until 1889 when the County of London was created.

O2 ARENA: The O2 Arena is a multi-purpose indoor arena located at the centre of The O2, a large entertainment complex on the Greenwich peninsula in South East London. The O2 is only 15 miles from Bean. First American style arena in London. Capacity of up to 23,000, is one of the largest indoor arenas in Europe. The O2 is a state-of-the-art concert arena. Situated in a stunning waterfront location, ExCeL London is located in the heart of London's Royal Docks, only 17 miles from Bean.

The venue is part of a 100 acre campus, including 3 onsite DLR stations, easy access to the Jubilee Line and London City Airport, parking for 4,000 cars, 5 on-site hotels and numerous on-site bars and restaurants.

Exceeded our Expectations

  • 5 out of 5
We had a great stay. The house was clean, warm and cosy and exactly what we needed. The local contact was very friendly and accommodated our late arrival from overseas no problem at all.

The road at the front of the house can be a bit noisy first thing in the morning to those in the front bedroom but this is one of very few minor negatives.

The kitchen was very well equipped with crockery and cooking equipment.

The initial contact person for the booking was very attentive and always responded to our questions straight away. The booking process was straight forward and, as already mentioned, the on site contact was very friendly.

I would certainly recommend this rental to others.
