This first floor Apartment is in a quiet block of flats tucked behind the High-Street overlooking the landscaped garden. It is a well managed development with friendly residents respecting each other's privacy. Entry phone door leads to hall and easy stairway to first floor. Back-door leads to landscaped, communal garden. The property has allocated parking.

The apartment comprises kitchen, lounge/diner, bathroom and two bedrooms. The main bedroom has a double bed and the second bedroom can be made up with one or two single beds.

In the High-Street just round the corner from the apartment are 2 supermarkets, greengrocers, local butcher, bakery, chemists, post-office, hair-dressers, banks, coffee-shops. There are also many restaurants, pubs and take-aways to choose from.

Shepperton train station is a 2 minute walk, with trains to London Waterloo every 30 minutes. There is also a local bus service to Heathrow Airport, Walton on Thames, Kingston, Staines and other places

The Views of Two More Very Satisfied Australians

We arrived in mid-February 2013 straight from a very warm (39 degrees) Western Australia to a bitterly cold UK, but were welcomed by Ernestina and we quickly settled into this warm, clean, quiet and very pleasantly furnished and equipped apartment in Shepperton. The apartment is close to all local shops, restaurants and other amenities and we experienced no problems in being able to park our large hire car in the allocated area. We also found that the close proximity to the train station was very handy and and it afforded an easy journey to London and return. Ernestina was always very pleasant to deal with and even invited us to enjoy a cup of coffee and a slice of her excellent home made cheesecake on our day of departure.
We certainaly recommend the apartment to others and if possible we will stay there again during our next visit to the UK.

Owner's Response: I was very please to read Robin and Diane's fair review on the accommodation and location. It has probably been the coldest winter this year where it was important to come back to the warmth and comfort of the accommodation after a day's packed program. My guests enjoy their stay throughout the year may it be visiting family and friends or just for the tourist attractions. idéal pour ceux qui veulent venir en GB en voiture

Appartement très pratique car à 5 mn de la gare à pied et à 5 mn de l'autoroute.
Il faut 55 mn pour arriver à Waterloo train station. Avec la carte travel day card, cela nous coute à nous 5 31 pounds/ jour et on peut aller où on veut dans Londres, par train, par métro, par bus. très, très pratique .
Deux supérettes à 2 mn à pied.
Idéal si vous souhaitez comme nous aller chez harry Potter en voiture. Idéal aussi pour sortir de la ville sans bouchons.
Très bon compromis et vraiment pas cher.
l'appart est un peu vieillo mais attention, Ernestina va refaire la salle de bain; elle m'a même montré le carrelage qu'elle va faire poser.
Et si ce que j'ai écrit au dessus ne vous a pas emballé, alors venez juste pour voir Ernestina.
Ernestina, vous ne la verrez peut être qu'au début et qu'à la fin pour la remise des clés mais elle sera tout de suite la grand mère de vos enfants. Et moi cela m'a surpris parce que je ne savais pas que j'avais une mère en Angleterre; elle est vraiment très accueillante.

Great place to stay in a great location!

We had a great stay in this homey, comfortable apartment. The location was perfect with easy access to the train station, take-out, pubs, and markets (all within a few minutes walk). There were frequent trains to central London; travel time was about 50 minutes without any train changes. It was nice to come back to the quiet of Shepperton after spending a day in London. The apartment was clean and bright, and the kitchen was well equipped for cooking all of our meals. The washer/dryer worked great. The internet connection was fast enough to Skype and the TV had plenty of channels for rainy days. The living room and kitchen may be a little crowded with 4 adults, but they were perfectly acceptable for a holiday stay. The property owner was very responsive to our emails and calls and attentive during our stay. Overall, we had a great time and would definitely recommend this flat to others. Thank you, Ernestina!

Unser England-Abenteuer

Wir hatten das große Glück und waren vom 2. - 17.8.2010 in dieser tollen Ferienwohnung in Shepperton. Mein Frau, unsere beiden Töchter (11 u. 13 Jahre) und ich haben spannende Tage in einer für uns völlig fremden englischen Kleinstadt mit ihrem ganz besonderen Charme verbracht.

Die Wohnung ist perfekt: Sauber, großzügig geschnitten und mit allem Komfort für einen erholsamen Uralub ausgestattet. Über die Vermieterin ein Wort zu verlieren hieße Eulen nach Athen zu tragen: Mrs. Gowans ist liebenswürdig, hilfsbereit und steht mit Rat und Tat immer zur Verfügung. Wo wird man mit frischem Obst und Blumen emfangen? Bei Erna in Shepperton!
Der Weg von der Wohnung zum Bahnhof ist kurz (400 m), die Züge (direkt nach Waterloo-Station) fahren sehr regelmäßig und das Day-Travel-Ticket ist günstig. Über London werden wir hier nichts sagen: Die Stadt ist genial und will erobert werden. Aber auch das Umland von Shepperton ist nicht minder interessant: Stichworte sind hier Virginia-Waters (u.a. auch Drehort von zwei Harry Potter-Episoden), Wisley-Garden (Botanischer Garten a´la Carte), Hampton Court (Schlossanlage Henry VIII), Windsor und Windsor-Castle, Eton, Schwimmbad Sunbury und und und. Alles mit dem Auto in 15 - 30 Minuten erreichbar. Shepperton selbst ist mit seinen Einkaufsmöglichkeiten, der Themse und dem Thams-Court (Pub und Restaurant) ebenfalls sehr reizvoll.

Wer also einen erlebnisreichen Urlaub in einer wirklichen netten Umgebung gestalten möchte und keinen Wert auf Massentourismus legt, ist hier goldrichtig. Wir hatten uns am Flughafen in Gatwick einen Leihwagen gemietet und konnten damit auch das weitere Umland (Bournemouth, Guildford, Winchester...) erkunden.

Erwähnte ich schon den Apfelkuchen von Mrs. Gowans und die netten Sparziergänge nach Walton on Thames? Mit drei Frauen zum Shoppen in die vielen Bekleidungsgeschäfte ist auch ein Erlebnis der besonderen Art. Und dann die Oxford-Street in London...

Unsere jüngste Tochter hatte am Abreisetag einen dicken Kloß im Hals: Sie wollte nicht weg! Kann man dem noch etwas hinzufügen? Also: Sofort buchen und England genießen. Wir kommen auch wieder.

We had a very pleasant say in "Claremont" flats in Shepperton.They are well appointed and comfortable, being excellent value for money. Ernestina was extremely obliging and generous in providing any assistance we asked for. Shepperton has good train and bus services and is a convenient base for exploring London and regions to the south. Shepperton has the feel of a village but with the convenience of a larger town, having butcher, bakery, supermarket, PO, pharmacy etc. We would happily stay there again. Doug and Jenny McGregor.

Home away from home

We rented Tina's apartment for 2 weeks in Feb whilst builders demolished the back of our house. It was great to find a 2 bed apartment at such great value for money, and in our home village of Shepperton which made it easy to carry on life as close to normal.

I was concerned about staying somewhere with 2 very young boys, but Tina put me at ease so I wasn't worried about how she would react to the possiblity of some additional wear and tear. I needn't have worried in the end! The apartment had its windows replaced with double glazing whilst we were there and they stayed longer than expected and Tina graciously didn't charge me for that day. She also left us a fruit bowl which was a lovely, unexpected touch. All linen and towels are provided and the kitchen is well stocked for self catering.

The location is fantastic, Shepperton has a great high street with all amenities - 2 mini supermarkets, all of the banks, post office, butchers, etc. The Thames is a pleasant walk away. The train service is regular and Shepperton is at the end of the branch line so you can't get lost!

I'd definitely recommend it and I've just contacted Tina to see if we can rent it again for some friends.

Shepperton lies about 18 miles from London and offers a relaxed atmosphere with listed public footpaths, riverside walks, golf, fishing and river trips along the historic Thames to London. With so much within easy reach of Shepperton, it is easy to fill your holiday with interesting activities for everyone to enjoy. You enjoy a special welcoming friendly atmosphere of this lovely village with everything so near and yet so quiet.

Shepperton offers good leisure and shopping facilities and is not far from the widely acclaimed Thorpe Theme Park.

Cheap day return train tickets are available from Shepperton for the approximate 50 minute journey to London and depart every half hour. The last train from London Waterloo to Shepperton departs at midnight. Further reductions for groups of 3 and 4 passengers. The day-travel-ticket can be used for free travel on buses and underground thoughout London all day.
