Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday apartment in Bosa - Pink Palace Apartments
Palazzo, 2 bedroom apartment
Less than 100m from the long sandy beach at Bosa Marina, this grand, newly restored old house is divided into 4 spacious apartments. All slightly different, they all benefit from the large roof top terrace with view over to the beach. Being just a stones throw away from the beach, bars and restaurants it is ideal for a relaxing holiday. Located on the ground floor to the left, the entrance door leads into a smart kitchen/diner/ lounge. The kitchen area is equipped with gas hob, electric oven and fridge/freezer. There are 2, 2 seater settees and a table and chairs in here. A hallway leads to the, larger than average, bathroom with shower and further along there is a bedroom with a king size bed with ample storage space and a twin bedded room also with ample storage space. Both bedrooms have ceiling fans. The apartment has the benefit of a washing machine in the bathroom. There is also an iron and ironing board plus clothes airer, hair-dryer, radio/CD and mini safe.
We agreed for our customers, to have the use of the swimming pool and facilities at a nearby hotel for a special fixed daily rate.

We stayed in Il Tramonto. We expected a spacious, well equipped apartment and that was exactly what we got, plus a welcoming chilled bottle of wine. It was nicely presented and it was obvious that the owners had given careful thought to providing modern facilities, with an eye on tradition. We were disappointed that the TV had no aerial, but there were sufficient DVDs available to keep us amused after dark. There was just enough preparation space and plenty of crockery etc.The bathroom was well laid out with a wonderful shower, and the bed extremely comfortable. Recycling is compulsory and a bit of a pain, but instructions as to what to do are very clear. Our favourite space was the sun terrace, where we ate most of our meals when we were ‘at home’. Having sunshine from dawn to dusk was a great bonus, as well as the dual view towards the beach. We had fun watching the narrow guage train being uncoupled and switched around. There’s a mini market opposite which is expensive, but very handy. We did some hiking, but wished we had bought a walking guide in GB, as the trails are hard to find. The apartment is very close to the beautifully clean, safe sandy beach. The sand can get too hot to walk on and umbrellas are a must. There are several bars accessible from the beach, which sell ice-creams, beer and coffee. We walked into Bosa town regularly; it takes 30-40 minutes along the riverside. The castle is currently undergoing renovation and much of it isn’t accessible – still worth a visit though. We walked out to San Pietro church – a bit of a trek, but again, worth the effort. We didn’t meet any British people staying in the area and found that the locals didn’t speak much English. A phrasebook is an absolute must. However, they’re very friendly and seemed to appreciate us having a go with our pigeon Italian. If all else failed, we pointed and smiled and that often did the trick. We had a hire car for the duration and although we didn’t use it every day, it was invaluable. We had a day trip over to the Goruppu Gorge walk near Dorgali and visited Alghero and Sassari. Going out to the Grotto Neptuno by boat from Alghero was lovely. Bosa didn’t offer much in the way of entertainment, but it was unspoilt and provided the perfect location for a relaxing fortnight. Should we return to Sardinia, we would definitely go back to Bosa and the Pink Palazzo. The owners live in the area and are very friendly and helpful.

Tourists without a Car,
Owner's Response: It is lovely when we get positive feedback from customers. Not only did they enjoy the apartment but the surrounding area as well. As these clients say, we tried to get all the modern conveniences in, yet keeping the basics of this lovely old palazzo in tact. With reference to the TV aerial, we decided not to put one on the roof top terrace and spoil the beautiful building. It would also only give Italian TV which is basically rubbish and obviously you would have to be fluent Italian speakers to start to appreciate it!
The apartment was clean and well maintained. It had lovely high ceilings and it was bright and airy. It had all mod cons including a washing machine. It didnt have a TV which we were very happy about! The main attraction for us, was the roof terrace where we could lie on the sun loungers, sipping David and Gillian's own delicious wine, looking at the night sky and looking for shooting stars (loads of them)! Fantastic! We enjoyed the beach, a great expanse of hot sand. A walk through old Bosa and up to the castle is definitely worth doing. A great relaxng holiday. Would definitely recommend it to friends and relatives and would like to go back again.

Owner's Response: Always lovely to hear when someone enjoys our apartments. With not a lot of light pollution we see a lot of shooting stars during the summer months. There are 2 apartments with TV's and 2 without so you have a choice!
The Pink Palace is a striking historic moorish-type building – without doubt the most beautiful building in Bosa Marina.
The owners David & Gillian have restored it to a high standard, and the apartment we stayed in was tastefully furnished with everything we needed to make our stay comfortable. We found the basics on arrival – coffee, sugar, olive oil etc which was a nice touch, and it was spotlessly clean. On several evenings we cooked - the apartment has enough cooking equipment for a family to create elaborate meals, with the added option of a Barbeque area, and plenty of outside areas with ample furniture for alfresco eating.
Take the owners up on the offer of wine from their own vineyard, it's amazing, especially the rosé. We got used to enjoying a chilled bottle on the roof after a night out, watching the stars and listening to the sea.The terrace is a highlight, and the layout offers privacy, even if there are other people using it (which there weren't during our stay). The apartment itself is large and airy with very high ceilings. We heard no noise whatsoever from the adjoining apartments.
A comprehensive information pack is provided which contains personal recommendations from the owners who live in and know the area, it is well written and informative, and we found the restaurant recommendations were especially useful. There are also added touches like the mention of the owners at some restaurants will get you a free coffee, or aperitif, and the offer of using a hotel pool close by– you feel you're benefitting from the hard work of the owners.
There are no end of restaurants in Bosa Marina, within 5 minutes stroll with beautiful beach views. Food is generally good and quite a lot cheaper than we're used to in UK restaurants.
Bosa town is gorgeous, unspoilt and historically interesting with beautiful old buildings in a maze of narrow cobbled streets. We also ate in several restaurants here. Despite struggling a bit with our lack of Italian, we found the people to be very friendly and approachable.
From the beginning our communication with the owners was dealt with efficiently and professionally. We received clear instructions, and on our return, our deposit was returned literally within an hour of requesting it.
I cannot recommend the Pink Palace highly enough. The owners obviously work hard to maintain an extremely high standard in the property, and there are lots of added touches which make it extra-special.
The apartment was great. More than we anticipated. With high ceilings, window shutters & fans in the bedrooms, air conditioning was not needed (in mid August). It was well presented and clean. The kitchen was very well stocked, which made the option to cook, easy. The beach is a very short walk away and is a large soft sandy expanse that shelves very gently. The sea is cool, but not cold. The temperature on this side of the island is hot, but there was always a light gentle breeze making the temperature perfect. The owners were around, but not intrusive. We had a great time. Bosa was a short drive away. Although very quiet in the middle of the day, there was a great choice of restaurants and the views from the castle were amazing. I found the mattress a little uncomfortable (but have a back porblem) The only down side is that we did not want to leave.

Families with Young Children,
People with Disabilities,
To those visiting Sardinia for the first time, this is the best location by far. Easy access to all major routes north, central and south of the island. Located by a marina and 5 minutes drive from the local town of BOSA. Across the way from the building is a mini market and then one is literally 5 minutes away from one of the cleanest beaches in Sardinia. The owners Gillian and David are welcoming and ensure that the accommodation is fit for purpose; clean and everything works in kitchen - so essential when one is so far from home! Plenty of car parking space outside, so when when has been to one of two major supermakets 10 minutes away in the car - no probelm.
The appartment is very compfotable and ideal for a couple or small family. The kitchen and dining area is fully equipped so no matter what meals you make, you have the right equipment and utensils. The bedrooms are spacious and cool and there is a wonderful vista of the coast line from the roof top terrace where one can chill out on a number of sun loungers provided by the owners. It is a beautiful sun trap!
Overall, the rates are very competitive and the quality of accommodation is excellent value for money. I have no hesitation in recommending these apartments to future guests of David and Gillian.
Why not visit and enjoy!

Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children,
We stayed at the Pink Palace, Apartment La Sabbia, mid October for a short break. Although we were told we were to be the last occupants of the apartment this year everything was still very clean and fresh. It was very well equipped and furnished with comfy beds etc and our children thought it was great, especially our little girl who loved the colour of the building. The owners were friendly and accommodating providing a cot, high chair and baby listening device for our youngest. Couldn't ask for more, we will be recommending it to all.

Tourists without a Car,
Families with Teenagers,
Families with Young Children,
A lively sea side resort in season with numerous bars, cafes and restaurants, it has a large, wide expanse of soft, fine sandy beach partially sheltered by the harbour walls, very safe for families, next to the imposing tower of Isola Rossa. There are plenty of activities to keep you entertained, not just from the beach such as windsurfing and kite surfing, but boat hire, scuba diving excursions, boat and fishing trips. The small train station is here where you can take the Little Green Train inland to Macomer, winding through the beautiful countryside where vineyards and olive groves can be seen.
Bosa Marina has grown in recent years to take advantage of its gently shelving, wonderful beach but even out of season it is a beautiful, quieter place with a few good pizzerias and bars open all year round. The old town of Bosa itself is a pleasant 25 min walk away. You can hire all water sports equipment here and learn how to surf, windsurf etc. You can hire sunbeds and umbrellas here.
