'SUPERB' apartment, infinity pool, stunning views, 10% discount 2013!

Whilst having travelled a lot in Europe and the Canaries, this was our first trip to Turkey. We were slightly apprehensive about food and culture but these doubts were completely unfounded, most foods are available in the supermarkets and the locals are unbelievably friendly, even the daily callings to the Mosque added to the experience.
The apartment which is set on two floors was exactly as described and the owner (Sarah) could not have been more helpful either before or during the holiday. Views from the apartment are beautiful and it was a pleasure to watch the sun rising and setting from the upper balcony. The apartment is extensively fitted out even down to a large selection of books, DVD's and CD's. Whilst we were there temperatures were around 40 degs so the air conditioning was very welcome, also the mosquito nets on doors and windows were ideal especially at night time. We spent a lot of time around the splendid infinity pool which is well equipped with excellent sunbeds complete with mattresses and parasols, lots of towels are also provided for pool use.
On a couple of particularly hot days we ventured down to one of the beach clubs (Indigo) where the sea breeze was very welcome. We also enjoyed the all day boat trip of the bay on "The Falcon" but it is advisable to leave this until you have aquired a bit of a tan. Salkikant Gorge is another trip worth trying and also Patara Beach but the sand does get very hot there. Also don't forget to visit the market on Thursdays, the fruit and veg is very reasonable.
Kalkan itself is a lovely little fishing village which is full of cobbled streets and amazing rooftop restaurants all serving quality food. The area away from the harbour is hilly, so whilst it is a 10/15 minutes walk from the apartment down to the harbour, a taxi is recommended for the return journey.
We enjoyed a brilliant holiday in Sarah's lovely apartment and we hope to return in the near future.
