The sea at Les Lecques is clean and crystal clear. At the fine sandy beach, the sheltered bay is perfect for fishing, swimming, sailing, windsailing and surfing. The local fitness culture is reflected by the early morning joggers along the promenade and the numerous fitness centres. The rugged coastline lends itself to hiking, while the surrounding countryside is ideal for cycling and horse-riding.
The local coastal and inland scenery is breathtaking, as are the wooded mountains with their medieval floral villages and the meadows and vineyards tumbling down to the sea.
Along the coast to the east are Bandol, famous for its wine, restaurants and yachts, and Sanary, which has a theatre and Italian-style cobbled streets.
To the west are La Ciotat, a bustling town where the first moving pictures were recorded, and Cassis, the exclusive little port, sheltered by the calanques from the winds and by the pine forests from the distant through traffic.
