A great 3 bed Beach House, sleeping up to 6 comfortably (4/5 adults + 2 kids), on a private & gated estate with private access to an uncrowded beach. An unusual 2 storey house with spacious open plan living over 4 levels internally. Secure & pleasant large garden & good communal estate play areas. Be on the beach in under a minute where the waters are shallow & the tide can go out a few hundred yards. Swimming is excellent with the vicinity recognised for water sports, incl surfing & kayaking. World reknowned for fossil hunting at low tide & fossils can often be found. The East & West Witterings are 20 & 40 mins beach walk away - less by bike. Numerous good nearby attractions.

Windsurfing & sailing is popular in the waters off Bracklesham Bay & The Witterings. The colourful sails racing at great speed over the water is a spectacle to watch. Walking on the sand at low tide for several miles in either direction is also popular. The Bracklesham area is world renown for fossil hunting. West wittering is a UK top 10 beach - 10 minutes away by car

The main nearby town is Chichester which is a short distance away - about 10 minutes by car. The ancient Roman city is famous for the theatre, cathedral, art galleries, museums, restaurants, canal & shopping centre. It also offers offers bars, clubs, multi-screen cinema & a good rail link to London.

  • The price shown is inclusive of bed linen (the beds are made up) and towels (not beach towels).

    Weekly lets are normally Friday to Friday, particularly in high season, in order to manage housekeeping (cleaning, bed linen & bed making). Entry is normally 3pm and departure no later than 10.30am to allow our housekeeper access which is common practice with letting. Saturday to Saturday bookings can sometimes be specially arranged on enquiry

    The calendar on this website does not allow showing the starting and leaving day together and therefore weekly lets are shown as 6 days however it is 7 days (with the 7th day being a leaving day)

    Short breaks available on enquiry but not usually in high season. Out of season short breaks usually start around £325 for either: Weekend - 3 nights - of Fri/Sat/Sun. Weekday - 4 nights - of Mon/Tues/Wed & Thur. Weekly 2013 rates are from £485pw non peak rising up to £990 pw in peak (summer, goodwood, festivals etc).

Holiday started well with a kind & helpful welcome from the housekeeper. The layout of the house was intriguing, having 4 floors in a 2 storey house. The house (almost on the beach) was beautifully maintained & decorated, and had contemporary furnishings. The only fault for me personally (a pensioner) was that I would have appreciated a handrail on the stairs.
The 2 sundecks/balcony's were wonderful. For sun worshippers one of them was always in the sunlight, or conversely, shade, for those of us who cannot cope with extreme heat. We had the 2 hottest weeks last summer. I spent hours in the shade in the mornings on the glass fronted front balcony reading & just enjoying the wonderful view over the sea to the Isle of Wight. The same view was enjoyed from the lounge through the huge patio windows. At low tide one could walk for miles along the sea shore, & even the horses from the local stables came for their dip in the sea & a canter along the beach through the shallow water.
When I accidently locked us out of the house the housekeeper came to our rescue. We cannot speak too highly of her helpfulness & care, & she is a great asset to the owners. Having a safe parking space just outside the house was great. We enjoyed some lovely meals which were good value for money at the nearby Pond Barn Restaurant. We had a really lovely holiday.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

We arrived from Germany! We found a great accurate location. Everything was like advertised. The property extremly clean and cosy.
The owner of the house supported us in a great way before our and during the stay. Thank you for this!!!
The area is perfect for everyone, childreen (beach), London and other locations really near by. If you feel for a day without doing anything, the house offers everything you like!
I only can recommend this property!!! Five stars from Germany! :-)

We had a great time at 16 Marineside. The house is in a perfect location, with great setup (including enclosed back yard, perfect for our 18 month year old) and great decks overlooking the sea. The house was clean and everything we needed was thoughtfully provided. A bonus was the fast wifi and ipod deck. Highly recommended!

Nous avons passé une super semaine dans une maison extrêmement bien équipée, à 10 mètres seulement de la mer.
Beaucoup d'activités pour les enfants et les plus grands, beaucoup de choses à visiter, beaucoup de souvenirs en famille!
Les enfants ne souhaitent qu'une chose: retourner à Bracklesham Bay!

We had a lovely break at 16 Marineside despite the weather The design of the house meant it felt really spacious and the children had plenty of space to play. The house was clean and well equipped and Karen the house keeper was on hand to sort out a small problem with the broadband.

It was great to be so close to the beach and the views from the house really made a difference.

There were plenty of places nearby to take the kids on rainy afternoons. The fish and chips at the Boulevard restaurant in East Wittering were fab!!
