Beachside House

  • 5 of 5

Holiday started well with a kind & helpful welcome from the housekeeper. The layout of the house was intriguing, having 4 floors in a 2 storey house. The house (almost on the beach) was beautifully maintained & decorated, and had contemporary furnishings. The only fault for me personally (a pensioner) was that I would have appreciated a handrail on the stairs.

The 2 sundecks/balcony's were wonderful. For sun worshippers one of them was always in the sunlight, or conversely, shade, for those of us who cannot cope with extreme heat. We had the 2 hottest weeks last summer. I spent hours in the shade in the mornings on the glass fronted front balcony reading & just enjoying the wonderful view over the sea to the Isle of Wight. The same view was enjoyed from the lounge through the huge patio windows. At low tide one could walk for miles along the sea shore, & even the horses from the local stables came for their dip in the sea & a canter along the beach through the shallow water.

When I accidently locked us out of the house the housekeeper came to our rescue. We cannot speak too highly of her helpfulness & care, & she is a great asset to the owners. Having a safe parking space just outside the house was great. We enjoyed some lovely meals which were good value for money at the nearby Pond Barn Restaurant. We had a really lovely holiday.

Home from Home, very well equipped and spacious.

  • 5 of 5

Perfect location and beautiful house, very well thought out and everything you could possibly need home from home including wonderful binoculars on a tripod.

Great size garden with BBQ opportunities and outside areas to eat, especially the lovely veranda to sit and look out to see. Perfect base for visiting surrounding areas.

We are three family members who chose this as we had spent all our childhood holidays here on the beach.

We all agreed we would go back and definitely recommend this property.

Our stay was just wonderful and the house provides plenty of space.

Yes would definitely go again. Hats off to the owners.

Thank You

West Sussex beach house gem!

  • 5 of 5

This holiday rental is so well managed - from the brilliant communication with the owner, to the obvious care and attention to detail of what a holiday maker really wants and needs from a property. Even some things I'd never even considered. I mean who would have thought an outdoor shower and hosepipe arrangement would be so useful?! Two kids plus sandy wetsuits and surfboards no problem! It's all been said before, but comfortable, clean, well appointed, lovely views, brilliant fast wifi, great outdoor space in garden and on balcony..... Add to that really good location - roads are great in that area, much quieter than Devon and Cornwall and really easy to get to.

West Wittering has the best huge sandy beach, is easy to get to a few miles away and has loads of parking. I can't imagine them ever running out of space! Great cafe/takeaway there too. Fishbourne Roman Palace just outside Chichester is good for a half day out and is a unique historical site unlike any to be found in the rest of the country. Good cafe there too. Chichester is only a few miles away and is a fine old place great for shopping and more history.

Getting food locally is easy if family in tow. I know it sounds like that's all we think about but easy access to decent food shops and cafés etc is a really big deal when on holiday with kids. There's a really well stocked Tesco and Co-op in East Wittering along with butcher and greengrocer. Real gem 5 minutes walk from the property is Billy's on the Beach which is THE most fabulous beach cafe. Great simple food (awesome fish and chips) friendly and efficient staff plus relaxed beach vibe. Dream about that archetypal wooden beach eatery where you can get a great meal and watch the waves whilst drinking your pint of golden Sussex ale? Look no further! All in all top recommend.

One of the best equipped houses in Marineside!

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed a lot our stay in Marineside! This house is probably one of the best equipped houses in Marineside (including e.g. heating for towels, dishwasher, cutlery for more than 12 persons, tableclothes, barbecue).

We spent some very nice days with the kids at the beach which is just in front of the house or we enjoyed the excursions to Chichester, Seven Sisters, Portsmouth and to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. Thank you!

Brilliant!

  • 5 of 5

Having wanted a beachside location on the South coast where we could relax for a few days at the end of a hectic summer before the children went back to school, we could not have found a better property (for the price we paid) set in a more beautiful location.

The layout of the house suited us perfectly, including a ground floor bedroom / wet room ideal for my elderly mother. The rest of the house is very comfortable with all of the facilities being of an excellent standard. Great views of the sea are possible from three aspects although the highlight for us was the balconies front and back on which you can relax, enjoy the sunshine all day long and take in the fabulous views of the sea. The immediate surrounding area is lovely and Portsmouth is less than half an hour’s drive a well worth a visit to the dockyard / quayside.

It seems the owner has really thought of everything and communication with Neil was first class. We were very impressed and would have no hesitation is returning.

A beautiful and well maintained house.

  • 4 of 5

The house is very nicely furnished and is beautifully situated by the sea. We felt with 4 adults and a child very well. We would like, to stay much longer. The house was in a clean and tidy condition. We felt very comfortable.

The information provided by the owner were very detailed and helpful.

Car: recommended

With views across to the Isle if Wight, Bracklesham Bay village is 0.5km away & has a small selection of shops & restaurants typical of any English seaside town - including fish & chips, ice creams & buckets & spades etc. Nearby East Wittering has more extensive quality shopping including bakers, butchers, fishmongers and mini supermarkets. Windsurfing & sailing is popular in the waters off Bracklesham Bay & The Witterings. The colourful sails racing at great speed over the water is a spectacle to watch. Walking on the sand at low tide for several miles in either direction is also popular. The Bracklesham beach area is renown for fossil hunting and at low tide small items can sometimes be found - a pastime for children. West wittering is a UK top 10 beach and is 10 minutes away by car or, for the more adventurous, can be reached on foot along the beach front at low tide

The main nearby town is Chichester which is a short distance away - about 15 minutes by car. The ancient Roman city is famous for the theatre, cathedral, art galleries, museums, restaurants, canal & shopping centre. It also offers offers bars, clubs, multi-screen cinema & a good rail link to London.
