Be on the beach in under a minute where the waters are shallow & the tide can go out a few hundred yards. Swimming is excellent with the vicinity recognised for water sports, incl surfing & kayaking. World reknowned for fossil hunting at low tide & fossils can often be found. The East & West Witterings are 20 & 40 mins beach walk away - less by bike. Numerous good nearby attractions.

Beachside House

Holiday started well with a kind & helpful welcome from the housekeeper. The layout of the house was intriguing, having 4 floors in a 2 storey house. The house (almost on the beach) was beautifully maintained & decorated, and had contemporary furnishings. The only fault for me personally (a pensioner) was that I would have appreciated a handrail on the stairs.
The 2 sundecks/balcony's were wonderful. For sun worshippers one of them was always in the sunlight, or conversely, shade, for those of us who cannot cope with extreme heat. We had the 2 hottest weeks last summer. I spent hours in the shade in the mornings on the glass fronted front balcony reading & just enjoying the wonderful view over the sea to the Isle of Wight. The same view was enjoyed from the lounge through the huge patio windows. At low tide one could walk for miles along the sea shore, & even the horses from the local stables came for their dip in the sea & a canter along the beach through the shallow water.
When I accidently locked us out of the house the housekeeper came to our rescue. We cannot speak too highly of her helpfulness & care, & she is a great asset to the owners. Having a safe parking space just outside the house was great. We enjoyed some lovely meals which were good value for money at the nearby Pond Barn Restaurant. We had a really lovely holiday.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Girls Getaway, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children, Romantic Getaway

One of the best equipped houses in Marineside!

We enjoyed a lot our stay in Marineside! This house is probably one of the best equipped houses in Marineside (including e.g. heating for towels, dishwasher, cutlery for more than 12 persons, tableclothes, barbecue).
We spent some very nice days with the kids at the beach which is just in front of the house or we enjoyed the excursions to Chichester, Seven Sisters, Portsmouth and to the National Motor Museum in Beaulieu. Thank you!

Having wanted a beachside location on the South coast where we could relax for a few days at the end of a hectic summer before the children went back to school, we could not have found a better property (for the price we paid) set in a more beautiful location.

The layout of the house suited us perfectly, including a ground floor bedroom / wet room ideal for my elderly mother. The rest of the house is very comfortable with all of the facilities being of an excellent standard. Great views of the sea are possible from three aspects although the highlight for us was the balconies front and back on which you can relax, enjoy the sunshine all day long and take in the fabulous views of the sea. The immediate surrounding area is lovely and Portsmouth is less than half an hour’s drive a well worth a visit to the dockyard / quayside.

It seems the owner has really thought of everything and communication with Neil was first class. We were very impressed and would have no hesitation is returning.

The house is very nicely furnished and is beautifully situated by the sea. We felt with 4 adults and a child very well. We would like, to stay much longer. The house was in a clean and tidy condition. We felt very comfortable.
The information provided by the owner were very detailed and helpful.

A perfect holiday

We spent a fantastic week in this really beautiful house and the sourrounding landscape. We're been deeply impressed by the gentle people anywhere we got. A day trip to London by train from Chichester was no problem (scaringly expensive for a family except the weekend- we went on Sunday :-).
Self-catering is no problem thanks to the various supermarkets and other shopping possibilities which can be reached within 15 minutes by car. (Witterings can be reached by foot without any problems).
Furtherway we got to know that in contrast to Germany "glutenfree" is something any employee in restaurants and food shops is firm to, so even eating in a restaurant is much easier than in Germany.
Last but not least we got a weak of wonderful weather with comfortable temperatures from about 22-24 degree.
Finally we can summarize it was one of our best holiday ever and we're sure we'll return.

Windsurfing & sailing is popular in the waters off Bracklesham Bay & The Witterings. The colourful sails racing at great speed over the water is a spectacle to watch. Walking on the sand at low tide for several miles in either direction is also popular. The Bracklesham area is world renown for fossil hunting. West wittering is a UK top 10 beach - 10 minutes away by car

The main nearby town is Chichester which is a short distance away - about 10 minutes by car. The ancient Roman city is famous for the theatre, cathedral, art galleries, museums, restaurants, canal & shopping centre. It also offers offers bars, clubs, multi-screen cinema & a good rail link to London.
