Convenient for Oxford, London, Bath, Stratford, the Cotswolds and Stonehenge. Just 1 hour from London Heathrow Airport. There is a bus service from the accommodation to Oxford and Didcot Parkway Station (45 mins to London Paddington Station).

Tolkien Cottage is a newly refurbished property that adjoins Chilton House circa. 1650, a grade 2 listed building.

Tolkien Cottage contains 2 bedrooms, bed 1 has 2 single beds that can be joined to create a king-size bed if required. Bedroom 2 contains a bunkbed. There is also a large lounge, modern kitchen & bathroom. Storage heaters + electric hire in lounge.

The lounge contains 2 leather sofas, fold-down dining table & chairs & a large LCD TV with Freeview. The kitchen comprises of an electric cooker, microwave, washing machine & all utensils. The bedrooms are all fitted with quality bed linen. The bathroom consists of a bath & power-shower.

There is ample parking in a private courtyard.

Chilton House is located on the edge of the beautiful village of Chilton in south Oxfordshire. It is close to the historic Ridgeway Walk, Harwell International Business Centre & is convenient for the nearby towns of Didcot, Wantage & Abingdo

Fantastic New year break!

Me and my girlfriend fancied a new year getaway and stayed in the Lewis Cottage at Chilton Apartments. The apartments were easy to find and we were greeted by Sheila on arrival, she was brilliant - extremely friendly and helpful and nothing was too much trouble!
From start to finish our break was amazing, Giles was a pleasure to deal with when making first contact and no enquiry was too much. The actual cottage was beautiful, spacious and well maintained and cleaned. It had everything we needed for a perfect stay. I would definitely recommend Chilton apartments to anyone, book it now and you won't be disappointed! Would return in an instant. There are easy links to nearby towns and shops etc, yet you feel away from all of lifes stresses at the same time. Thank you very much to Sheila and Giles for a fabulous stay and we will not hesitate in booking again in the future.

Thanks so much for the good time in England . We saw so many beautiful sites that were easy to get to from this location.Bath, Stonehenge,Oxford, London were wonderful places to visit. The apartment was a good size for a family of 5 out touring England. It was clean and very quiet for sleeping. Sheila was always available when we had a question. Thank you for your time.
Recommended for:  Age 55+, Adventure Seekers, Sightseeing, Families with Teenagers, Families with Young Children
