2 bedroom apartment to sleep 4 overlooking Lake Windermere

Brantfield House is a large Victorian house set in mature gardens in a quiet location overlooking the village of Bowness and Lake Windermere. The apartment is on the first floor at the front of the house, with beautifully proportioned rooms offering spectacular views of the lake and surrounding fells.

The apartment was fully refurbished in February 2007 to add a new bathroom suite, kitchen, fireplace and carpets and in 2008 high quality double glazing was installed. All rooms are well furnished, spacious, light and airy. The apartment sleeps 4 in two bedrooms, the master bedroom has a kingsize bed and the second bedroom has twin beds. Each room has plentiful storage and the twin room has a TV, and PS2.

The bathroom has a bath with shower, toilet and wash basin. The Kitchen is newly fitted with ample workspace and includes oven, hob, microwave, toaster, washer and dishwasher. The large lounge /dining room was redecorated in March 2012 and is comfortably furnished with leather settees and dining table set in the bay window. There is a TV with Freeview and DVD/Video players and a selection of dvds, videos, books and games. This room has a bay window allowing spectacular views of Lake Windermere and the surrounding fells.

The house is set in a quiet location but only a short walk to the heart of Bowness

There is ample parking for the apartment.

Bowness is a large village on the edge of Lake Windermere. The lake offers all manor of watersports including sailing and canoeing, there are details of boat hire in the apartment. There are numerous pubs, restaurants and a cinema within walking distance. Bowness is the home of the Beatrix Potter museum and a short car journey from the writer's home.

For the walker there are details of walks from the doorstep up onto Brantfell behind the house.

This is an ideal base for exploring the Lake District

We just returned after a great week in this lovely apartment in the Lake District!
It’s a lovely, clean and very cosy flat with breath-taking view on lake and hills in a nice neighbourhood. You have everything there like at home (or even more): washing machine, oven, dishwasher, TV, DVD-Player, Playstation, a lot of great movies, books, games etc etc. So even if it’s raining you will have full entertaining at home. Thank you Christine for the very spontaneous possibility to stay at your lovely place: you really helped to make our first holiday in England to an unforgettable memory! We would love to come back next year!

Thank you for a wonderful holiday. The flat is comfortable, spacious, quiet, well maintained and the view is just incredible.

We were lucky with the weather during our stay so was out and about plenty however, having two young girls we spent our evenings in the flat and it was a home from home. There is plenty to do on your doorstep and we found it easy to keep two young children occupied for a week.

Hoping to stay again sometime (my parents also visited us for the day and are also hoping to book the flat at some stage!)

We've had such a wonderful time here, it's been a dream of ours to come to the Lake District for a long time and this apartment with it's wonderful views was the perfect place to stay.

This apartment is very well equipped and extremely comfortable. I am very fussy about cleanliness and found this to be immaculately clean. It is peacefully located with fabulous lake views. We will be returning soon!!
