The “Antiche Tonnare di Porto Paglia” is an old fishermen’s village built at the end of XVIII century. It was the place where Sardinian tuna fish was caught. These little buildings were used for this aim until 1974. There are still many fishermen’s houses all around a court-yard, a little church, the old workshops near the seaside and a Spanish tower that is still there since 1598.
Today the fishermen’s village is completely restored and it has become a private exclusive residence, a peaceful place where you can spend your holiday. It is an accommodation suitable for a relaxing holiday, visiting the real Sardinia in order to know its real flavours and perfumes.
Gonnesa is the nearest town and is about 1 km from the village. It is a place not discovered at all by mass tourism. In Gonnesa you can find everything for everyday life: large and small markets, a bank, baker's, chemist's, pizzerias and restaurants.
