So relaxing!

  • 5 out of 5
We have just spent spent 2 weeks at Pyrenees View and had a fantastic time.

David and Jane are perfect hosts, always on hand if needed but never intrusive.

The apartment is very comfortable, clean and homely and has everything you need. The terrace and garden are lovely places to sit and watch the red kites flying overhead and the pool is the icing on the cake, a perfect way to cool down after a day sightseeing. The views of the mountains from the property are absolutley fantastic.

There are plenty of places to visit locally and Spain is an easy drive through some spectacular scenery! The local markets are fab, we particularly liked Montrejeau market held on Mondays.

We were so impressed with our holiday we have already booked 2 weeks for next year.

We would like to thank David and Jane for making our holiday so wonderful, see you next year :-)

Beautiful views over snow capped mountains.

Just spent a week in this spacious gite with daughter and our partners. Had a lovely time but couldn't make use of the nice pool as te weather was not hot enough! Our fault for going later in year! The gite is very spacious and the bedrooms big and comfortable with plenty of storage. The double one has views over the mountains - lovely when waking to see them out of the window. Pool looked very inviting, alas, too cool for me to use! Jane was informative and helpful at all times and nothing too much trouble. Nice to chat to her and hear her experiences of living in France too.
Wish we had taken up the offer of Jane doing some shopping for us as we arrived on a Sunday and shops all closed. However, there was a bottle of wine, juice, and a few beers from our hosts.
Played boules every night as Jane has a set for use by the guests and we were told to pick the peaches and tomatoes! Very nice too!
Would be nice to have things like dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid and washing powder provided as those things are never used up but must be bought by every guest. No other suggestions but go and visit and enjoy the peace and quiet and the beautiful surroundings.

Owner's Response: There is available for our guests on arrival: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, fruit juice, milk, beer and a bottle of wine. Also for guests’ convenience we leave dishwasher tablets and coffee filter papers to facilitate the first few days. This week was no exception. Most of our guests this season travelled to us in their own transport and normally take all their provisions away with them, including washing up liquid and washing powder. Any non perishable items are always left in the kitchen for incoming visitors to use.

Lovely property, great pool, stunning view.

Pyrénées View has just that, a stunning one, and it invites you to head for the mountains, which we did most days. All the same, the local area has a lot to offer, even if its rather flatter.

Your hosts are charming and helpful but never intrusive. The property itself is everything you could expect, the terrace is terrific and the pool is perfect.

Stunning views of the Pyrenees Stunning Property

  • 5 out of 5
David and Jane made superb hosts. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived. The property was ideal for the three of us (plus my in-laws came to stay for a few days) plenty of space, light, clean and airy with stunning views across the valley to the mountains beyond. The property was well equipped with lots of every day necessities tea, coffee, sugar, salt, cooking oil, washing up liquid, and most importantly toilet paper. David and Jane also provided a welcome gift of wine and some beers just what the doctor ordered after our drive!
Lots to see and do in the surrounding area white water rafting, site seeing, and cycling if you are brave enough to tackle some of the hills. Or even some of the mountains that are part of the Tour de France. Or you can spend your day at the swimming pool reading a book and the occasion dip to keep cool.
Loudet is ideally situated within comfortable driving distance of Toulouse, Lourdes & Spain and Luchon.

Great Place To Relax

  • 5 out of 5
This gite is excellent value for money, in a great location for a quiet, away from it all holiday. The gite and pool are ideal for couples, secluded and great for chilling out.
Everything was very clean and well maintained.
Jane and David were excellent hosts, always available for advice if needed but did not intrude at all.
Surrounding area is very rural and quiet, mountains are spectacular with some great walking available, lots of wildlife around the area. Own transport is a must.
Drive into Spain (about 35mins) for cheap booze and fuel.

A great fortnight in Loudet

  • 5 out of 5
David & Jane made superb hosts. We were made to feel welcome and comfortable from the minute we arrived. The gite was ideal for the two of us - plenty of space, light, clean & airy with lovely views across the valley to the mountains beyond.

Loudet is ideally sited within comfortable driving distance of Toulouse, Lourdes & Spain (Bossost). Luchon, a predominently ski resort, is worth a visit

The 'locals' we met were all friendly & welcoming - making an effort at speaking the language coupled with a few hand gestures, oui's & non's and smiles seemed to see us through.

Most villages are very quiet at all times and smaller towns are similar when the shops shut for lunch. Do not be put off as wandering around these places can prove to be interesting and relaxing.

Shopping in France can prove expensive compared to the UK but making judicious use of Lidl & Carrafour, in nearby Montrejeau can help reduce the burden. Cakes & meat (roasted 3lb chicken (approx £9) are expensive. Perfectly adequate wine is available at around £2 a bottle. Remember shops take extended lunch breaks. Shopping in Spain is somewhat cheaper and not far away.

If wildlife is your thing - we saw lots of Red Kites, buzzards & Jays; a green woodpecker, various song birds, toads & bullfrogs. Signs of badger runs were nearby and we understand deer and wild boar are in the vicinity.

One short but heavy downpour and a little bit of thunder & lightning were the worst of our weather experiences and this was certainly exceeded by sunshine. Meals on the terrace taking in the views added to the enjoyment of our break.

What would we recommend? Make the most of your holiday, enjoy the gite & surroundings, do what you enjoy doing, remember you are a visitor in France - their ways may not be yours but it's their country after all so respect, accept and have a good time. We did.
