Perfect accommodation for a mixed age group.
We had an amazing week here. The pool is fabulous and the accommodation spacious and well equipped. It is easy to get to some of the lovely sites of the Dordogne. Lynne and Mark are friendly but unobtrusive hosts. They gave us lots of valuable tips on where to go. There is a friendly bar, a spar, a boulongerie and a good pizzaria within walking distance, not to mention the evening event in the next village where we danced the night away. We unreservedly recommended this accommodation.

Excellent location and facilities
We had a great time staying at La Perroquet with members of the family coming together from the UK and the USA. The farmhouse had been well renovated and furnished and had a large kitchen for family breakfasts and meals and an outside dining area for BBQs and evening meals. The swimming pool was excellent, greatly enjoyed by all especially the children. The owners have tried to create an authentic historic French feel which is great. However the authentic 6ft French beds with wooden head and tail boards posed a problem for some members of our family who were over 6ft. It would be worth thinking about removing the wooden tailboards to allow for taller guests, at least in some rooms. The owners, Mark and Lynn, were very helpful and introduced us to local events, such as village get togethers on two evenings. Would certainly recommend it to others wishing to have a family reunion. Thanks to Mark and Lynn for providing this opportunity.

Beautiful surroundings in a charming, old farmhouse.
Excellent communication with property owners who were extremely pleasant and helpful. Even though they lived on site, they were very careful to respect our complete privacy. Gardens and pool area were beautiful. A short walk to the village which had a Spar, a pizzeria, a bakery and a bar. House was well equipped with all required! Highly recommend!

Fabulous old farmhouse with french rustic charm & great facilities
We stayed as a group of 4 families, 15 in total and had a fabulous week at ‘Le Perroquet’ We loved the rustic French charm of the properties and the layout of the 2 separate houses were perfect giving lots of space to spread out, plenty of bathroom facilities & great showers ! The house is very well equipped for catering for 15 with plenty of crockery & fridge/freezer space. We enjoyed lovely long lunches & suppers under the large shaded table in the garden . The pool was fantastic, kept extremely clean and had enough sun loungers for everyone as well as plenty shade for those that wanted it . Mark & Lynn were excellent hosts, on hand if needed but very discreet when they crept in to keep the pool clean for us. We loved this unspoilt area of the Dordogne, enjoying the market in Bergerac , a fabulous night dancing with the locals at the evening ‘Gastronorm market ‘in Mouleydier and a great day kayaking on the river from Limeuil with Aquafun Canoes (run by an English man !) With just a short walk into the village the Boulangere , Spa shop and friendly bar were very handy , with larger Supermarkets just 10mins away in Bergerac . Though the river runs at the bottom of the beautiful garden the banks are too steep to access here & in an evening the Mosquitos were out in force (definitely come armed with repellent ). You can access the river with kayaks in Mouleydier but not allowed to swim in it there as we discovered !!! We would definitely recommend this property for large groups wanting to experience the Dordogne & would love to return one day.

Lovely old property
It was an easy week despite holidaying with 4 children under six! The pool was brilliant and the space in the garden ideal. The small road that the property was on was surprisingly busy and with some noise to those sleeping on that side of the house. The kitchen was well equipped and there was a large bar-b-q also. Our hosts, Mark and Lyn were quick to respond to all of our requests or queries. We really had a good week. Perhaps the only improvement would be blinds to the roof windows - to help the kiddies sleep longer and the adults to survive better with more sleep themselves!
