The Eden project is only 30 miles away, and Flambards is under 1/2 hour. However, in fact the beach and facilities at Maenporth are such that many people go no further. The National Trust owns more than 110 miles of the spectacular Cornish coastline, including that at Maenporth and much of the Helford River's shore. Walkers can head to Falmouth in one direction or the Helford River in the other. Falmouth's safe harbour and the creeks and inlets of the River Fal provide a year round haven for yachts, dinghies and windsurfers.
