Fantastic Honeymoon in Glencoe

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 15 March 2013 Date of Stay: February 2013
We booked a weeks stay at Kinloch lodge in Glencoe for our honeymoon after our civil partnership. We are avid outdoor enthusiasts skiers and real ale drinkers. Glencoe was the perfect destination for all three!

The lodge itself its truly fantastic. 5 Star with all the comforts you could need and top notch quality. Over looking the lodge in a quiet spot, with Fort William just up the road and Glencoe on your door step. You have the Nevis range and Glencoe ski centers 20 mins away and the beautiful outdoors. With the right conditions the skiing is fantastic, given the views. Sadly for us it was more skiing on ice, but we had a blast nether the less!! The rail trip up the Malliag from Fort William is definitely worth the trip.

Tony & Marie could not have been more welcoming and when we arrived there was a bottle of fizz awaiting us. The perfect honeymoon. We couldn't fault the lodge for our stay perfectly relaxing and Tony and Marie are incredibly attentive, such as a fuse going which was fixed within minutes over the phone!

We shall definitely be returning and recommending this lodge. It's rare these days that you get such personal and excellent service.

Our many thanks to Tony & Marie for making our honeymoon a once in a life time experience with our stay here.

Exceptional location and standards

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 21 August 2012 Date of Stay: August 2012
We have just returned from a stay at Craig Moray Cottage and would highly recommend this property to other holiday makers and indeed would recommend to my best friend or family Craig Moray Cottage is less than 100 yards to the lochs edge has exceptional views of Glencoe all around, there are loch side gardens only 2 mins from the cottage which holiday makers privileged enough to be staying at Craig Moray can use, we sat out many days by the lochs edge and watched the world go by, just a perfect spot in every way

The cottage is an immaculate new semi detached property ( exceedingly quiet in every way, both properties are designed in such a way to maximise privacy) the cottage is beautifully furnished and decorated to an obvious high standard, a huge plasma tv, free WiFi ( unlimited) an XBox player system, DVD player, midi Hifi etc all await your arrival. Comfy leather sofas with loads of fab cushions make this a perfect place in which to relax. Peace and quiet is guaranteed at this cottage , we both just loved our stay, wish we had two weeks instead of one :(.

The kitchen has a full size black and very smart Bosch dishwasher, a Black Bosch washer dryer and full size fridge and freezer also again Black Bosch. The standards of kitchen utensils and cooking pots are extremely high as is the beautiful white china crockery. It's obvious we were impressed and we think you would be too.

The mater ensuite bed room also has a wall mounted tv, very comfortable double bed and lovely en suite shower room are both upstairs . The linen again is of an excellent quality , overall this property is immaculate and new and is only mins away from the local COOP and local shops.

As you leave the private gravel drive and car parking area ( again very private and secure) where this cottage is located, you will find the main road for all the main routes is at the bottom of your drive about 60 meters away so the road is a decent distance away fro the cottage , the road here doesn't cause any noise as the cottage is far back from the road and very private and to be honest it isn't that busy anyway. The cottage is also acoustically glazed , ( my husband asked about the fancy type windows) and is absolutely silent inside , it is surrounded by trees and has a very private high fence with a lovely small garden and seating patio area

I can't recommend this property enough exceptional in every way , the owners are brilliant too very helpful and chatty pure luxury

Modern, comfortable cottage next to Glencoe

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 21 August 2012 Date of Stay: July 2012
I enjoyed a very pleasant stay at Craig Moray cottage which is actually the two windows on the right of the photo shown, as it is attached at right angles to the house shown. No sound from next door at all. Only sound is from the A82 which is out the front which I only noticed because I was by myself. Village for fresh supplies from the Co-Op was just down the road, anything more was an excuse to drive 14miles to Fort William, although the Ballachulish Tourist Information Shop and Coffee had a stock of interesting things. Oban was only 24 miles away.
Cottage is very well equipped with new shiny black appliances. Great TV and Wifi.
Tony and Mairi were extremely friendly and helpful. I could park the car right out the front on the gravel. Felt very safe and comfortable and would highly recommend it for a couple or having a break by yourself. I played golf by myself at Dragon's Tooth, 5 minutes away, a charming little course not crowded at all during the week and a lovely place for a quick lunch or coffee with a beautiful outlook. Scenery is stunning nearby and kayaking to the Burial Isles was very tempting except summer kept not arriving!

Fantastic Cottage Owned by Fantastic People

5 out of 5
Review Submitted: 20 April 2012 Date of Stay: February 2012
We arrived in Glencoe in pretty foul weather and it stayed like that for the entire week, although we didn't care about getting cold and wet as we knew we had an amazingly warm, comfy and cozy cottage to return to where we our boots and gear would be dry for the next day! Whilst I think Todd knew that after a cold day in the mountains he could have a relaxing evening lying on the rug in front of the fire!

The greeting we recieved from Tony was great, he was keen to show us around this cottage and the neighbouring 4 bed, obviously proud of his achievements and rightly so. Both are furnished beautifully and to a high quality with all the modern conveniences you could need - whilst internet etc isn't essential by any means, it does make life that bit easier - finding walking routes, places to eat etc. Finding a cottage of this quality which allows dogs (and is so welcoming of dogs) is very rare these days, and for the price we paid it was an absolute bargain as well.

Going back to the owners, we couldn't fault them - they were fantastic. I realised after 100 miles I had forgotten my camera charger, so I text Tony to ask him where I could buy one and got a handful of suggestions back. When none of these had stock, he suggested ordering one to be delivered to his house and he would bring it round. 48 hours later there was a charger waiting in the cottage for me!

The location is superb, with big mountains straight out the back door and in Glencoe, whilst there are smaller walks around the Loch and nature reserves etc. A short drive gets you to the nearest supermarket in Fort William, and the same distance again gets you to places like the Harry Potter viaduct (Glenfinnan). In terms of other activities there is climbing and ice climbing 20 minutes away in Kinlochleven, whilst there are great restaurants all around - we recommend the Clachaig Inn just outside Glencoe, which also allows dogs! Ballachulish is a 15 minute walk, 5 minute drive away has a few local conveniences - Spar etc.

We loved it that much we are going back for our honeymoon in June and no doubt in 2013 at some point! Fingers crossed for better weather this time though!!! Would I recommend this cottage to friends - definitely, although I would very much like to keep it to myself!!!! Perfect.
