Enjoy comfort and a peaceful atmosphere at the private estate Logis de Beaulieu, located in the beautiful Charente in southern France. It offers the most soothing holiday setting, with its luxurious swimming pool, tennis court, lakes, walking tracks and stunning nature. Absolutely no one will disturb your French countryside getaway.
The main building is an ancient manor house named 'Logis de Beaulieu'. Together with several annexed buildings, large courtyards, the old farmhouse 'St. Germain', three lakes and 1000 acres of land, it makes up the estate. The surrounding landscape is characterised by sunflowers, corn and wheat fields, and forests.
We offer three holiday accommodations (the French call them 'gites'), which are all located on the property. Beaulieu 1 and Beaulieu 2 are converted stables in the annex of the manor house. Saint Germain is an old farm house typical for the region, situated a few minutes walk from the main house, beautifully secluded at the edge of the forest and with amazing views into the valley.
The surrounding area offers many activities in the summer and the winter. The Atlantic ocean is about an hour and a half by car and makes for a great day trip. If you have a culinary passion, then you may want to spend the day driving through the Bordelais, with its incredible wineries, or through the Cognac region, which Logis de Beaulieu is actually part of. Taste the famous Marennes oysters, or enjoy some Foie Gras from Riberac in the Dordogne. The ancient cave paintings of Lascaux are not far, neither is the capital of the famous French china 'Limoges'. La Rochelle is not only a gorgeous ancient seaside town, but also houses one of the most amazing aquariums! We're more than happy to point you in any direction, depending on your interests.

Logis de Beaulieu has been in our family since the 1950s. Our grandfather grew wine, corn, and sunflowers, and cared for the ancient buildings like they were jewels, which they truly are... We like to share this beautiful place and its heritage with special guests from all over the world.
Logis de Beaulieu is a great place, with its wide estate, the lakes, the nature and calm environment. What's more, the chateau and the cottages are really fantastic. And of course one has to mention the great swimming pool, also the tennis court.
If one considers the price, the great atmosphere of the 'domaine' - this holiday rental is one of the best our family experienced. We'll also get back to Beaulieu in 2010, it will be for the third time.
The manor house is located on the northern slope of a small valley. They are the center of the private estate Logis de Beaulieu with its small woods, fields, meadows, three lakes and the old farm house Saint Germain, located 450 metres from the main house. The tennis court and the large swimming pool (8 x 14 metres) are used by the guests and the owner family only.
Logis de Beaulieu is situated 500 km South of Paris and 37km South of Angouleme, the capital of the Department. The Charente is marked by a picturesque landscape with vineyards, pine, oak, and chestnut woods, as well as wheat, sunflower and corn fields. The Charente is the home of Cognac. The vineyards contribute to the beauty of the landscape, and the final product - the world famous Cognac Brandy - is of significant cultural and economic importance for the region.
