Nice apt in great location, some updating needed.

The location of this apartment was great - right beside the market and within easy walking distance of the shops, old port, tourist attractions, bus station etc.

The living and dining areas were lovely and bright and we were very comfortable relaxing here with a DVD in the evening.

The apartment is in an old-style building in a quiet street so we felt as though we were living as locals.

Kitchen is quite well stocked, though some glasses were cracked and there were no wine glasses - strange for France. The coffee machine was handy and we used it a lot. The oven was quite old and in need of some repair as were a couple of the cupboard doors. Shower was great - constant hot water and very powerful - perfect! There is loads of storage space throughout the apartment.

On the downside, the bed covers were pretty shabby. The twin bedroom seems like it used to be part of the living room so there is no sound-proofing between the 2 rooms - a bit of a nuisance when children are getting to sleep at night. Twin bedroom is an internal room (no windows). Another minus was that the advertised WiFi did not work for us at all even after several attempts.

Overall we had a lovely time staying here and in La Rochelle. The apartment could do with a bit of TLC though, apart from the living room.
