Aloha! Please read some of the 102 + reviews. They rate my 800 sq. ft. Beachfront resort, partial ocean view condo/home an average 4.9 stars. There are another 32 - 4-5 star guest reviews that no longer count. These guest's say it all. They will return & recommend it as a great place to rent.

I rent my home when I travel (30-40% of the year). It is your home away from home & may be the best deal on the Island. You vacation in what I provide myself & get to use all my stuff, 2 flats screen TV's, 2 stereos, 2 DVD's & the only 1 bedroom with 2 air conditioners. I leave my full kitchen & condiments, all paper products, foil, baggies, soaps, shampoos, conditioner, laundry, dish detergents & more you will not have to buy. You use my beach towels, beach chairs, coolers & more.

My rate is for 2 people. Additional people regardless of age are $15 a night per person. It rents by the night & 2 or 3 nights is OK when they are at the end or before another rental or my stays.

NO SMOKERS, PLEASE!! I do not rent to smokers including outside smokers. Thank you for not inquiring, the answer is NO! My home is smoke & smoke smell free.

Your second floor 800 square foot Unit # C 4 is not just a rental! It is my personal very upgraded & exceptionally well equipped home when I am not traveling for business, sailing or softball 2/3 of the year. It is your home away from home & will provide you with a relaxing, warm, comfortable wonderful vacation, honeymoon or anniversary, as it does for me when I return. All the closets & dresser drawers are empty. I leave have no clothes there. (This question comes up)..

Kauai Beach Villas Resort includes both Wyndham Resort with 3/4 of the condos & the Kauai Beach Hotel ONE ROOM STUDIOS (formerly Hilton Hotel rooms). It is one of the most exclusive & secluded Oceanfront resorts on the island.

Your home is the most centrally located & convenient to everything on the island. Only 5 minutes from the airport, 5 - 10 minutes from either end of Lihue or Kapaa & half way either direction (30 - 45 minutes) to the North or South shores of Poipu & Princeville.

THIS IS NOT A CONVERTED HOTEL ROOM TO A STUDIO with a small refrigerator & microwave & a bunch of additional fee's. it is a complete condo with full kitchen, bath & bedroom.

I am one of few the private owners for 16 years.I rent my home with all my things for you to use when I travel & that is 2/3 of the year. I usually can adjust my travel to accommodate most rental requests.

Your resort is a half mile off the main road & located on a 3 mile long secluded beach that runs from the next door famous Wailua Golf Course to Lydgate Park.

There is a $105 checkout cleaning fee for up to 9 days. If over 9 there are interim cleaning fees of $70. 10 days - 5th day, 11 -12 - 5th - 6th day, 13 - 14 - 7th day. Longer stays repeat. This protects my home & ensures cleanliness for the next guest.

There is a $75 management fee per stay. Hawaii requires on Island managers. I charge this separately as there is no fair way to do this by the night. Shorter stays pay more & longer stays pay less per night.

There is a refundable $150 security deposit. Or you can buy VBRO's coverage.

My $900 a month HOA dues covers all resort & parking fees. You use the full resort, pool, Jacuzzi, tennis courts, BBQ's, beach & hotel facilities (the spa & fitness is extra). They are all a 1 minute walk. PARKING is in front of my condo.

I accept payments at PayPal & VBRO & credit cards at both. Either is fine to use. I prefer & give a 2% discount on the rental night cost (not cleaning, tax or deposit) for using PayPal. Both are guaranteed & secure.

For 16 years I've worked at making my condo & your home away from home a nicely decorated & highly upgraded home for myself & my guests. It has imported Italian tile, Berber carpeting, solid hand varnished mahogany doors, Hunter Douglas Blinds, real wood cabinets, gourmet kitchen, granite counters, 2 air conditioners, 2 LED HD Flat screen TV's, 2 DVD's, 2 stereos & more.

Your full living room has a remote ceiling fan, air conditioning, queen sofa bed comfortable cushioned chair & ottoman, 32' Flat Screen LED HD TV & 74 channels, stereo, DVD, books & a few games with a small but nice partial ocean view.

Your lanai has the same view, a cushioned 2 seat bistro set & cushioned chaise lounge.

Your bedroom has also has a remote ceiling fan, air conditioning, a king firm bed with a 3' memory foam topper that can be removed for those who prefer to make it firmer. You sleep in 600 thread count sheets. There are 4 pillows 2 firm & 2 medium. You have a 24' Flat Screen LED HD TV with the 74 channels, DVD, stereo.

This is the only 1 bedroom unit that has 2 air conditioners & two air purifiers.

Your large gourmet kitchen is better equipped than many homes. I like to cook & bake. There is filtered water at the sink & in the refrigerator & ice maker. There are lots of pots & pans, baking pans, corning ware, fine china, glasses, wine glasses, silverware a Martha Stewart knife set & lots of utensils. Appliances include a full stove & oven, 1100 watt above oven microwave, dishwasher, garbage disposal, blender, hand mixer, coffee maker, toaster, George Foreman Grill, waffle maker, popcorn maker, small food processor, rice cooker, steamer & blender. There's lots of other little stuff like a wine opener, mixing spoons and spatulas, full stove utensils, bowls, Tupperware & more.

There is a 4 cushioned chair separate dining area as well as a granite counter bar & 2 bar stools.

Your nicely decorated bath has brass fixtures, a bath tub & a raised Speakman shower for taller people. It's enclosed by floral brass trimmed sliding doors. There are a dozen great bath towels, hand towels & wash clothes & a hair dryer, shampoo, body wash & an electric vent fan.

Between the bath & bedroom is a separate very well lit vanity / desk area with 3 lights, a full make up mirror & a full length wall mirror. An Armoire with 2 drawers & large closet provides extra storage. This area makes it nice to sit & do your hair or makeup or whatever while others are in the bath or bedroom.

You have your own washer & dryer & all the soap & dryer sheets & the iron & ironing board.

For your trips to the beaches you have use of my rolling cooler that fits in a trunk or back seat, a cooler jug, 4 beach towels & one is extra large & 2 beach chairs.

You use my private internet for security & not the shared resort internet. It is 15 MB & has high speed wireless & also a 25 foot Ethernet cable.

There is NO regular telephone in the condo since 99% of people have cell phones & that added $15 a week to rentals & almost no one used it.

You get to use all my stuff, condiments, seasonings, foil, wraps, zip locks, laundry, dishwasher, hand, shampoo & body soaps, paper towels, toilet paper, tissue, small first aid kit, sewing kit & whatever else. You do not get starters & have to go & buy what you need. You get to use everything I have & that saves you money. If you run out my housekeeper will quickly get you more, but that rarely happens as we keep my home well stocked.

You have a small partial beach & ocean view that grows & shrinks between trimmings and is not guaranteed I have no control over Wyndham's maintenance. .

The beach, swimming pool, Jacuzzi (whirlpool) & BBQ's are a 1 minute or less walk.

The beach has magnificent morning sunrises, the picture you see on my listing is one of hundreds I have taken. The colors are as lovely as they can get & change everyday.

The resort landscaping is beautiful. There are ponds, waterfalls, fountains, geese, ducks, flowers & foliage to enjoy everywhere.

You are only 5 minutes from the airport & on the only two lane island highway. This makes it a very easy fast arrival & departure & adds time to your trip. No long drives to the North or South shores after a long tiring trip. For your departure you do not have to leave 4 or 5 hours before your flight to make sure there are no traffic jams or accidents on the one lane roads that cause you to miss your flight.

You are 5 minutes from Walmart at the beginning of Lihue & 10 minutes from the other end with Costco & Macy's & 10 minutes from Kapaa' the best grocery shopping on the island.

Once again. My condominium is Non-Smoking (cigarettes, cigars & marijuana (LOL - 2 of these joints were left in the safe!). This means NO SMOKERS of ANYTHING. PLEASE! If you smoke anything at all, plan to smoke on the Lanai or outside, please do not contact me or rent my home I do not want any smoke odor. If you violate this & special cleaning is needed you will loose your deposit, be liable for any additional fees to eliminate the odor, court costs & legal fees. Yes, I am serious about this. It is my home.

I like to be honest with every one & there is the Motocross race track at the end of the golf course than can make noise on weekends & holidays. The race track hours are Saturday, Sunday, and Holidays from 10am to 6pm & the race schedule can be seen at http://www.808kmra.com/race-schedule.html. Many guests have wondered over there & watched racing. But it can be noisy & it is only fair you know about it. Labor day weekend they hold two days of racing & a banquet.

PLEASE read in the additional location information:

1. The medical warnings for Microbials. Tropical islands world wide have these (mold & mildew). If you are sensitive or have allergies you may be bothered. Sometimes people do not think about this when planning a vacation & dreaming of the islands. I remind people just jog memories so no one gets sick.

2 West Nile Virus & Dengue Fever. Use mosquito repellent. These are present on the island & although it is rare cases have been reported.

3: Chicken Noise. They can wake you up early & are all over the island & scattered during the last major hurricane many years ago. They are birds & protected by law. They do make a great alarm clock for sunrises!

Aloha! I'm 66 years young. I still work hard & play hard. I am an inventor. My machines and tools for Geosynthetic's are used world wide. My small manufacturing company is 36 years old. I travel for consulting on construction projects, sailing and softball. My small shop is in Northern CA & most of my employees have worked for me between 20 & 35 years. I do not even think of moving my manufacturing to where it would cost less. My staff deserves to keep their jobs in the US. I use all US suppliers.

I am still an avid sailor & softball player. I have been on professional sailing teams & softball teams. I was a support staff member of 'Team Dennis Conner, Stars and Stripes Americas Cup Teams in the 1992 &1995. Yes that was me 20 years ago. I have less hair now!

I still sail & play softball in events worldwide when someone wants to bring in the old 'ringer'!. I played semi pro softball for 13 years in the 1970's & 80's. I have never lost my batting eye, just the legs do not work like they used to, but I am still pretty fast ! The photo is of a recent walk off tournament winning hit on a team with mostly 20 and 30 year olds!

For 30 years I was a well know sports trainer & therapist. I did this during Americas Cups & for other professional teams. I retired after a bad car accident in 2005 & some back & other surgeries over a couple years. I worked hard at my recovery designing my rehab. The doctors say I can do things that I should not be able to do! I regained my less than a body of a GOD & have returned to my active work life, sailing & softball. Many ball players call me the white haired old guy (ringer) you do not pitch to with men on base.

Winning is in the mind! I believe that if I climb a tree, my natural instincts will take me out on the limb, I just know that if the limb breaks the tree will fall and the limb stay in the air!

Why Mounque Barazone chose Lihue

I have been coming to Kauai since the 70's. This resort was built in 1980 and the hotel in 1984. They choose the best location on the island. it is convenient and yet very secluded. It is off the road a half mile and on a long secluded beach and in the best location on the island. Close to the airport for arriving and leaving. 5 to 10 minutes in either direction for Lihue or Kapaa the best shopping, groceries and restaurants. 30 minutes to Poipu or Princeville. The location is beautiful, the hotel has excellent food and bar. Great pools, Jacuzzi, tennis courts, BBQ's. Nothing on the island matches it. It is next to the famous public golf course. 5 minutes from Lydgate park. it is simply the best location on the island and a beautiful place to be. The sunrises are unparalleled. Arriving and departing at the airport is 5 minutes away on a two lane highway. You do not have to drive 30 to 45 minutes to get to your north or south condo or leave 4 or 5 hours a head of departure to make sure your not caught in a traffic jam or accident on a one lane road and miss your flight. The condo is well built and very spacious. I have stayed North and South and in between and there is no place like this on the island. I finally was able to buy one in 2001. I could have bought anywhere, but why settle for something less than this resort and location.

What makes this condo unique

This is my private home and not just a rental. You get to use all my stuff. But I keep no clothes there so all space is for your use. Please read the average 4.9 star ratings they say it all. Great kitchen, 2 air conditioners and two ceiling fans, 600 thread count sheets, lots of towels, my cooler and household items, laundry soap, dish soap, paper towels, toilet paper, beach towels, condiments and much more. I leave all of it for your use. That saves you money.

What an amazing island. So much to do and see. Your condo is in a perfect location to explore North, South, East and West. The helicopter ride with no doors off was absoutely amazing. I was looking forward to the Na Pali Coast but it was Mt Wei that blew us away, fantastic. Your ice making fridge is terrific we filled the big esky with ice, put food in the little esky, put the little esky in the big esky and took water bottles and we were ways all day, everyday exploring. Monk, your condo is so comfortable we loved staying here. (from the condo written guest book.)

we were well please with our stay in the condo it was everything the owner stated. Monk was very courteous in making sure our stay was a great one. This location was wonderful after checking out the Marriott that was very packed and busy. We would definitely recommend the condo for a vacation place to stay. Good price, location, parking, and everything you need to feel right at home entrance door is on the east end of building.

I give the condo stay a 4.5 star it was great to stay here the other VRBO condo we stayed at was in Belize 80 feet from the beach that was about a 4.5 as well.

Great Condo, Great Location, Great Owner

We stayed at this condo and I think it's the best - it's been meticulously looked after, stocked with things like beach chairs, cooler, etc., is located well in the island such that a trip to the West side or the North Shore is easy, and the level of service from Monk (the owner) is exceptional. We would definitely stay here again (a family of four) if given the opportunity! The use of the resort pools and hot tub was also a bonus - and my kids loved those. Great overall experience staying in the condo!

Great Location to Explore!

We've been to Kauai 13 times, so we've explored, but we normally stay up north in Princeville, so haven't been to the southern end too many times. While staying in Mounque's condo we ventured all the way to the southern end of the island, to Barking Sands Beach, WOW! It's just what I picture a beach in Australia to look like. We visited Poipu and Koloa town, and were very close to all of the shopping we like to do before heading back to the mainland. The pool on the beach is awesome, kids enjoyed the water slide, great bars on the beach. Air conditioning in both rooms very valuable too. It was great being so close to the airport too because our plane left at noon, so we were able to fully enjoy our last day and pack in the morning before leaving. Since your a Kauai veteran I am gland you had the pleasure to stay at my condo and finally discover barking sands mentioned in "My Semi World Famous Island Write UP" and also recommended by my manager/housekeeper and her husband to you. My central location is the best on the island, for arriving and leaving, shopping and seeing all sides. The condo pool and Jacuzzi along with and hotel pools and beach sand bottom pool make it a nice variety. Absolutely the two A/C units make it much more pleasant for myself and my guests and my home is the only one of the 150 at the resort that has that. But since you were staying where I stay when I am not on the road for business or sailing and you got to use everything I give myself. I also hope you enjoyed my kitchen and all the cooking stuff and condiments. Thanks for the 5 stars.

Wonderful!

Monk's condo was such a wonderful place to stay. My wife and I were there for eight nights. It was our first trip to Hawaii, and we had done four nights in Oahu immediately before staying in Monk's condo.

All of our expectations were exceeded. The condo is only a short trip from the airport. We got in after dark, and went to the office by the tennis courts. The ladies there greeted us warmly, gave us nice leis, some cookies, and a discount card for the local grocery store (that saved us a bit over $20 in groceries).

The condo was clean and very well appointed. We chose to use the mattress topper, and we found the bed very comfortable. Everything we needed was in the condo--beach towels, beach chairs, a cooler, and a well-equiped kitchen.

Our days were very relaxed--we would go snorkeling or sight-seeing in the morning into the afternoon, and spend most of our evenings at the condo. The condo's pool and hot tub are nicely kept and aren't very busy. We ate out about half of the time and cooked for ourselves the rest of the time. The gas grills on the property were great--they're Webers.

A huge benefit to us was Monk's island guide book that he puts together. We found his recommendations about restaurants to be spot-on. The guide gave us an easy way to enjoy our 1st trip to Kauai.

The location of the condo was ideal for us. We spent many of our days on the north side of the island, enjoying the wonderful snorkeling. It was great to be near Kapaa and Lihue, too. The south side of the island is easy accessible as well. The drive to the far north took about an hour, and the south was a similar amount of time--the drive is really enjoyable, too! There's a lot to see.

The condo is very well kept and maintained. We had one small electrical issue the morning we were leaving, and Monk was very fast about getting back to us and arranging to have it looked at. The grounds around the condo are immaculate--they seem to constantly have people working and maintaining things.

My wife and I were extremely please with our stay. To put things in comparison, we'd stayed at a $430/night resort on Oahu. It was nice, but not nearly as nice of an experience as we had with Monk's condo. Monk's condo user's manual set all of the right expectations, and gave us all of the resources we needed to feel comfortable in his home.

Really amazing, and we can't wait to visit again!

I added website links for most and for golf and updated the Taxi, Limo and wedding section. I added some more information on newer activities, zip lines and it has now grown to 28 pages. Still I do not think I'm going to win a Pulitzer. I'm glad you had a good time and the electrical problem your final morning. I had an electrician in immediately to check the light and fan and he replaced the switch. I do all I can to make sure you have more than anyone would provide since I provide what I give myself! Kauai Beach Villas, Wyndham Resort and the Kauai Beach Hotel (formerly Hilton) are one of the most exclusive and secluded Oceanfront resorts on the island.

There is a small beach and ocean view when Wyndham trims the trees and bushes properly. They were trimmed on 2/27/14 and it is there as of this date.

A COUPLE MEDICAL WARNINGS and Noise from Chickens and Dirt Bikes at the beach:

1. TROPICAL ISLAND Microbial's including MOLD and MILDEW exists for all property within 2000 feet of the ocean. It is nature. My condo is one of the very few that is treated for this monthly. I bought the machine to do it for my own health. It likely has least possible. t. But for Scammer's who rent for a week or two and then after a day complain and take 2 - 3 days to go to a different property where they do the same and demand a full refund to get few 3 - 4 free days at different properties do not bother here, your warned. I have been through it and learned about the scam. But AS A HEALTH WARNING to ANYONE WHO IS SENSITIVE OR HAS ALLERGIES TO MICROBIAL'S they SHOULD NOT RENT AT OCEANFRONT PROPERTIES and likely not vacation in tropical climates, Hawaii, Caribbean or others where it is everywhere in the rental cars, restaurants, properties and more.

2. WEST NILE VIRUS and DENGUE FEVER that causes an infection that is spread by certain kinds of mosquitoes exists on the islands. I recommended always going out with repellent on.

3. CHICKENS: For those who do not know this!!!! Kauai has tens of thousands of chickens and roosters all over the island,!!! This happened from the last hurricane years ago that scattered them everywhere. They make noise, often in the morning & are a great alarm clock so you do not miss the fantastic sunrises. There is nothing that can be done to reduce or eliminate them, it is part of the island experience. The chickens are birds and protected by law & are all over the island. So if you do not like that noise choose a different island. On the other hand every store has great Kauai chicken souvenirs.

Many guests have wondered over there and watched racing. But it can be noisy and it is only fair you know about it. Labor day weekend they hold two days of racing and a banquet.

The resort is a half mile of the main road and 5 minutes from the airport and directly on a 3 mile long secluded beach that runs along the golf course.

Yet it is the most centrally located resort on the island 5 - 10 minutes to either end of Lihue or Kapaa and half way either direction North or South to Poipu and Princeville.

The resort is located on the 3 mile long secluded beach that runs along the famous Wailua Public Golf Course all the way to the famous Lydgate Park. It is one of the longest beaches on the island. It has magnificent sunrises.

The resort landscaping is beautiful and there are ponds, waterfalls, fountains, geese, ducks and foliage to enjoy.

My condo is only 5 minutes from the airport on the two lane highway making for a very easy, fast arrival and departure. No long drives to the North or South after a long tiring trip. For your departing flight you do not have to leave the North or South side 4 or 5 hours before your flight to make sure there are no traffic jams or accidents that cause you to miss your flight.

This is Kauai's best major resort and they located it at the best central location to see all of the island easily. It is in the middle of the east side and halfway between Princeville and Poipu. It is 5 minutes from Walmart at the beginning of Lihue and 10 minutes from the other end with Costco and Macy's and 10 minutes from Kapaa' the best grocery shopping on the island.

You are a 3 minute drive to the golf course entrance, 5 minutes to Lydgate Park and 5 minutes to the Wailua river.

Cinemas are in Lihue and Kapaa 10 minutes away in either direction.

The door is a sold varnished mahogany for quit and beauty. The shower has brass doors and flowered glass for privacy with a raised arm shower Speakman shower head.

The property is secluded and beautifully landscaped. The Hotel has amenities inside, restaurant, bar, sundries shop, jewelry shop, art gallery and a luau and dinner show weekly.
