A beautiful and exceptionally spacious and well equipped much loved house owned by same family for 40 years, now ready to be shared! Located on a sea plot in the heart of unique Stockholm archipelago with 30.000 islands/skerries yet only 1 hour from Arlanda airport and Stockholm. Charming seaside village 5 km with small shop/restaurant/cafe/boat trips and Norrtalje seaside town 20 mins away with superb shopping/restaurants/culture/golf courses. Situated on a calm and exclusive island without the need for ferries or boats to get there and at the end of a small, private road. The all-seasons house sleeping 9+ was designed by a well known local architect, built to a high specification on 2 floors and panoramic windows/views with guest house/sauna and 2 bathrooms/3 WCs, spacious outdoor seating areas, large lawn, BBQ. It is very secluded, quiet and peaceful with its own large private jetty/deck and easy access to 2 small shallow beaches and lovely uninhabited forest walks/jogging/skiing!
Beautifully built and designed houses comprising 240 m2 with panoramic triple-glazed windows. Warm and draft-free in winter and cool in summer with overhanging roofs. Electric central heating throughout and 3 open fires for wood with wood-burning stove on lower floor (which has Italian tiles and under-floor heating). This is a truly unique and stunning place which people invariably become very attached to! No smoking or pets. Together with six friends we had a lovely relaxing time in your delightful family holiday home. Your caretaker Thomas was friendly, helpful and informative and keeps the house clean and welcoming. The house is in an idyllic situation surrounded by wild billberries, strawberries and fascinating birdlife amongst trees and lakes. Lots of lovely walks and rowing boat outings and some of us had bracing swims in the Baltic out to the small island. Great breakfasts and dinners on your verandah with lovely views out over the sea and the restaurants you recommended were excellent. We enjoyed it so much so that we are taking another six friends to your house later this year.
We were a group of eight on a family trip with our own three grown up children plus partners/friends. It was a superb holiday and we all loved the archipelago house. Apart from the facilities (sea, boat, views, sauna, games etc) it's such a comfortable place and clearly a second home for the owners, with all the pictures and photos around. We really liked the feeling of being invited into that home and having a sense of its history - not like a run-of-the-mill holiday let at all. A beautiful house in a beautiful spot, with plenty of space for spreading out even if the weather keeps you indoors (which it didn't!). The owners and caretakers couldn't have been more helpful. Thoroughly recommended.
We stayed at this property for two weeks in August 2014 and would have no hesitation recommending it. The property is exactly as described and is very well kept with excellent facilities.
The two adults and four young children in our party spent most of the fortnight enjoying the property and surrounding island, with plenty of time spent swimming in the sea, playing on the beaches, fishing (we saw and caught many large fish including perch and pike right off the jetty at the property), boating, and sunbathing. In fact, we were almost reluctant to occasionally get in the car to go sightseeing. We ate out on the veranda for almost all our meals, enjoying the fresh air, quiet, and beautiful sunsets.
With plenty of space in and around the property, and a whole island to explore, the children were unusually happy to entertain themselves and we achieved the most relaxing family holiday I think we've ever had.
