The visitors of the Ballynahinch domain, in the heart of Connemara, leave with the promise of coming back. The Old Manor overhangs the famous Ballynahinch Lake in a site steeped with history. At the origin, these lands were owned by the O’Flaherty Clan, Lords of Connaught. Famous personalities succeeded one another at the head of the domain like Grace O’Malley of the 15th century (The Pirate Queen of Connaught), Richard “Humanity Dick” Martin during the 18th century and Ranjitsinji Maharadjah at the beginning of the 19th century. At the beginning of the 18th century, a castle has been built by the Martins’ on the Ballynahinch domain. Later, it was converted in barracks and became the domain employees’ habitation during the Maharadjah era. Nowadays Restaured, the Old Manor offers the opportunity to rent a 4 stars three-floor apartment.

The spacious complex grouped around a yard offers a lake view, the Twelve Pins reliefs and forest.

séjour rêvé en plein coeur du Connemara

Logement confortable fidèle aux photos et à la description. Le cadre est merveilleux, en plein coeur du connemara. Situé à environ 5 min en voiture de Clifden, les amateurs des pubs Irlandais seront ravis comme les amateurs de randonnée et de pêche qui seront emerveillés. Nous avons été totalement satisfait de cet appartement et nous manquerons pas de le faire savoir à nos proches. L'accueil quant à lui a été parfait. Bravo et bonne continuation!

The Old Manor is exceptionally located, surrounded by lakes, rivers, mountains and woods. Unique and private, it is accessible at only 1 hour by car from Galway, 10 min from Clifden, 15 min from the white sand beaches of Roundstone and 30 from the Ballyconneely’s ones. With its tennis court, it offers all kinds of activities, quickly accessible, horse hikes, walks, water sports, sea fishing, lake and river fishing (possibility of fishing salmon and sea trout at 2 min). The Connemara Golf Club is at 19 km. The nearest pub is at 2 min by car. Otherwise, at 10 min, you have the Clifden and Roundstone pubs with traditional music, Irish atmosphere guaranteed.
