Tucked away in the very heart of the port city and car-free town of Essaouira, this charming and spacious riad (260sqm+60sqm roof terrace) can comfortably accomodate up to 8-11 people (+ 2 babies); it is well-suited to big families, sports lovers or friends wanting to get together in a serene setting. Always rented as one unit whatever the number of people to ensure your exclusive use, it has been lovingly designed with a subtle blend of traditional materials.

- On the ground floor is the patio with its nice arcades around which there is the dining room, a fully equipped open-plan kitchen and a three-sofa lounge with its open log fire/television area. On the 1st and second floor, 5 bedrooms, 4 of them with their own en-suite bathroom and toilet and one small lounge overlooking the inner courtyard. On the third floor, the spacious terrace offers a sunbathing area with deckchairs but also a partially shaded space under the pergola near the barbecue and a wind-sheltered lounge.

In a true oasis of calm and serenity in the very heart of the pictureque and romantic car-free Medina of Essaouira, Riad Anaïssouira is not even 5 minutes' walk from the lively and port teeming with activity, the beach and its water sports, the mythical place Moulay Hassan, 2 mns to the City Walls where you can contemplate magnificent sunsets, very near all conveniences (groceries, restaurants, greengrocers... and not even 3 miles away from the Mogador golf greens. The craft shops are everywhere around and there is a massage salon and a hammam at some 100 yards from home.

The lovely and trustworthy daily help will be pleased to cook breakfast for you if you like or to prepare some typically Maroccan meals like couscous,tagines or pastillas at a very decent price.

Other Activities: swimming- pools, spas, discovering rural life

The Mogador golf with its two courses of 18 holes - is actually at 3 miles from the Esaouira Medina - at about 8 minutes by car or taxi and they offer the players, whether they are amateurs or professionals, a rare experience in the contact of dunes and the forest with the Ocean as a backdrop.

    Contact us for a 3 week stay onwards in low and mid season; the riad is spacious enough to enable a small group of friends to live very comfortably together while keeping their own privacy, space and independence. It is also an excellent base to go exploring Essaouira and its surroundings. The town has an immediate seducing charm and its micro-climate is also appealing - never too hot in summer and staying warm and balmy throughout the winter.

  • 4 tadlakt bathrooms all in a different colour- grey blue, ivory, salmon, Marrakech red, each one with an Italian style shower, a mirror, a washbasin with storage space under it or next to it, bathroom linen and a toilet. On the ground floor in the entrance hall, a spacious toilet with a washbasin is very convenient. The riad was totally renovated with locally Maroccan traditional material and decorated with hand-made furniture.

The beds will be provided with duvets (continental quilts or blankets depending on the season.

Notes:
Families with children of all ages will be provided a warm welcome by our lovely housekeeper who lives in the same street; she is delighted to have children staying and will do her best to accommodate any request. She can cook for you deliciously tasty simple Maroccan dishes with fresh products coming straight from the market at very reasonable prices. A baby cot is at your disposal. There is a small laundry room and a terrace totally independent from the main one to dry the washing in the sun. Duvets and warm blankets for the cooler season, a space heater for the most sensitive to cold are available. For the surfers or any other sports lovers, we have plenty of room on the terrrace roof but also a small room on the ground floor to store the sporting equipment. - If you want a taxi cab or a minibus to fetch you at the airport, we can give you our taxidriver's e-mail and phone number to contact him or we can even book it for you.
