Sanary kept the character of a small fishing port. Located in the heart of Provence between Marseille and Toulon, this is an ideal location to enjoy a holiday at the seaside family or couple. Sanary offers five beaches where the city guarantees the safety and hygiene and comfort. Bathing water classification benefit from 'A'.
Along the coast, the visitor can enjoy the unspoilt nature of Sanaryen coast. About 8 Km long, it presents a succession of unspoilt natural landscapes: Dark red rocks sculpted by the wind from the sea and cliffs carved rocks alternate with pebble coves and sandy beaches, topped with pine trees.
Vacationers enjoy the charm of Provence markets Sanary, welcoming pedestrian streets, shady squares and nightlife in high season (fireworks, concerts, exhibitions, games ..). In summer there is a wide range of activities in Sanary for large and small (baptism of diving, sailing, whale watching and dolphin watching, tennis, hiking along the coast, walking in the back country among fields of olive, parasailing, wildlife park, bowling, boat trips and cycling, boat rental, tours creeks of Cassis and the islands of Porquerolles and Embiez). During car rides you walk through beautiful landscape with vineyards and olive groves. In the evening you can go for a drink at Le Castellet a charming village. . You can also choose to make cultural excursions in Aix en Provence (city of Cézanne), Les Baux, Avignon (Palais des Papes), Arles (Van Gogh city with its arenas) as well as Saint Tropez, Nice (Old Town, Promenade des Anglais), Grasse (perfume town) and St Paul de Vance (Maeght Foundation).
For lovers of wine, terroir wines of Bandol extends amphitheater Massif de la Sainte-Baume, to the Mediterranean. The vineyard, which covers about 1,500 hectares, is planted on terraces (terraces) and facing south facing sea enjoys sunshine almost 3,000 hours per year.
Sanary is also the historic city of modern scuba diving. It was here that Captain Cousteau and his friends (the Mousquemers) experimented with the famous mask 'Squale. (To visit the Museum Frédéric Dumas diving).
Sanary is very nice back season for those who have young children out of school and for retirees who have the chance to enjoy a holiday in spring or fall when there is less of the world. The climate is mild and the sun is present with a less intense heat in summer. Families return to school and even holidays to enjoy the festive season in Provence when the city is full of light with its beautiful tree on the Town Hall Square. Provençal crèche in the church is one of the favorite attractions for children.
Welcome baby! No need to carry any breakfast. You will find there a cot, bath, high chair and a walker. Sanary is an ideal place to enjoy maternity leave with her newborn before resuming work. You can do everything on foot. No problems for walks if you wear your baby in a stroller or walk the streets are flat. One can easily walk along the sea-side port. New parents and little can make good naps in the quiet garden.
