Relaxing in West Cork

  • 5 out of 5
Angela, just a quick note to tell how much we enjoyed the cottage in Rossbrin. The location was excellent and the house first class. I can't remember a more relaxing break at a time when we most needed to relax. The setting of the house was perfect and the finish and facilties inside was just like home. We particularly appreciated and liked the very well equipped kitchen, fishermen calling to the door selling fresh prawns was an unforeseen bonus! My compliments also to the very tasteful decoration, whihc inside and out the place oozed restful!.Thanks for a great break and we hope we can find time again to take it again, perhaps for a longer period.

Tranquil, Serene and breath-taking!

  • 5 out of 5
We arrived late to this beautiful property so we were not able to take in the amazing property that it was until we woke-up in the morning and stepped out the doors. The Stone House was an experience to remember. The Stone House was perfectly polished, clean and welcoming. It was perfectly appointed for us to cook wonderful meals in the modern kitchen. The linens on the beds were clean, fresh and beyond comfortable.

Stepping outside with breath-taking views of the local horses, shores of the bay and green lush surroundings took our breath away. You can't find a better place to stay in SouthWest Cork.

The owner of the Stone House was beyond accommodating! Extremely flexible and took care of our every need!!

Maybe the best part of this stay was the friendly local people (Julian) the most kind and warm local friend we met.

If you get a chance - STAY at the Stone House!

Cheers

Absolute JOY! We Could Have Stayed a Whole Month

  • 5 out of 5
Wow! Angela--thank you so much for allowing us to stay in your wonderful home! It was even better than the photos!
We stayed for 2 weeks in the low season--and it was fabulous. The house is PERFECT! Everything was very just as described..but better. Waking up every morning and walking into the living room is PURE JOY! We even had great weather--only a couple of days of rain in the 2 weeks!
The location is perfect...from here we did Kinsale, Kenmare, Healy Pass, Ring of Beara, Mizen Head, Baltimore, Casteltownsend (eat at Mary Ann's!) The towns of Schull, Ballydehob and Skibereen are just a few minutes drive. Great shopping in Skibbereeen--Famine Museum, great book stores, great restaurants all around. We also really loved Whyte books in Schull.
People thought we were a little nuts for staying for 2 weeks in this part of Ireland, but you can do so much from this location. And the seaside is absolutely stunning. The cove is amazing--lots of wildlife--sea otters, foxes, great bird watching.
And on days that it was a little gloomy for sightseeing, we had a great place to lay about and read.
Angela, Lizzie and the super fun neighbor Julian were all very helpful!
The kitchen is totally set up for cooking--and the food in these parts is great. Tons of local butchers, seafood, etc.
Really, there was so much more to do here than we even got around to in 2 weeks! Will totally do this again!!!
This was just what we needed to get away from our hectic lives. We will be back!!

A fantastic location to stay.....

  • 5 out of 5
Just a quick message to say a big thank you for such wonderful accommodation in a delightful place. We had a great time staying in the stone house overlooking the cove at Rossbrin. It was a very relaxing stay and we would all just like to show our appreciation for our week away in Ireland (our first ever time in Ireland!!).

We finally got back to London late last night after a short delay on the ferry….

Our little Jack Russell seemed to love her stay, and has never had so much freedom in the fields around her. I think she like patrolling the garden letting us know of any movements nearby!!! I hope the horse riders who used the path at the bottom of there garden didn’t mind her welcoming barks!!!…

Anyway thanks once again for such a wonderful place and we now have about 500 photos to remind us of our stay in Rossbrin…..

The stone house is truly a brilliant place to stay, the views from the garden will stay with us forever.

A wonderful home in a fascinating surrounding

  • 5 out of 5
Dear Angela,
We enjoyed our two weeks at Rossbrin so much. The Stone House is so beautiful situated with a wonderful view on the bay, the old castle, the smooth landscape, and the Atlantic Ocean via Fastnet Rock with its safeguarding light during the night. Dependent from the position of the sun or the weather in general the shades of colours of the same view are so different so we had a lot of fascinating impressions. The Stone House is very comfortable, the very tasteful interior met perfectly our wishes and the kitchen is so well equipped that even a bit more complicated dinners could be prepared in a comfortable way.
We also enjoyed most of the recommendations you gave, the sightseeing in the surrounding as well as the more culinaric ones - always with best impressions. And all the people we met were open minded and friendly always being prepared having a small talk about experiences, impressions, and recommendations of this and that. At last we met a very kind and friendly housekeeper Lizzie saying good bye and wishing to us a safe trip back home.
To put it in a nutshell, we had wonderful two weeks at the Stone House at Rossbrin and we were very grateful having the opportunity to stay there for holidays.
