La Escala is situated in the bay of Roses, 50 km south of the French/Spanish border, 140 km north of Barcelona. La Escala is a cosmopolitan town of 6000 inhabitants, boasting 6 clean and safe beaches offering ever water sport. There are many speciality restaurants, dozens of cafes and bars, a yacht marina, fishing harbour and extensive Greco Roman ruins at near by Empuries. La Escala is both, a working town and tourist resort. The old town is very traditional but in the high season there are plenty of activities to suit all ages. Nearby Figures has the Salvador Dali Museum, La Bisbal is famous for it's ceramics, the medieval towns of Peretallada and Pals are worth a visit and are about a 20 minutes drive away.

Golf: We have at least eight superb championship 18 hole golf courses within 30 minutes drive of the town by car. There is a pitch and putt at Torroella de Montgri, which is 10 minutes by car.
Ski: Skiing is possible in season but is a few hours drive away either in the Spanish/French Pyrenees Mountains.
