La Escala is situated in the bay of Roses, 50 km south of the French/Spanish border, 140 km north of Barcelona. La Escala is a cosmopolitan town of 6000 inhabitants, boasting 6 clean and safe beaches offering ever water sport. There are many speciality restaurants, dozens of cafes and bars, a yacht marina, fishing harbour and extensive Greco Roman ruins at near by Empuries.
