Villa Koules is built on Kalami, a traditional and historic village located on a slope of a hill, at the entrance of Souda Bay. The villa is below the Idjedin fortress, 300m away from the beautiful beach of Kalami. The village is only 14km far from the picturesque city of Chania and 3km away from Kalives, a coastal village with sandy beache. On the mountain above Kalami there are the ruins of ancient Aptera and the well preserved fortress of Koules.

Koules Villa is made of stone and wood, built according to the traditional Cretan style and in perfect harmony with the environment. Every point of the private garden with the colourful flowers offers a captivating view of Souda Bay. All day and all night long, the water changes colour; from deep blue to pale azure, from black to gold when the moon mirrored on it. Around the private pool (35sq.m) there are sunbeds and in the garden you will find a grill with charcoal, where you can prepare tastefully dishes.

The villa has three floors. The main entrance is on the middle floor, where a sunlit area is found. A bar separates the fully equipped kitchen from the sitting and dining area, where the fireplace is found and a French door opens to a covered, shady veranda. Stairs lead to the upper and the lower floor. On the upper floor there is the master bedroom with the double iron bed and the French door that opens to a big veranda. On the same floor there is a bathroom with a bath. At the lower floor two twin bedrooms and a bathroom with a shower are found. From this floor a door opens to the garden.

Crete has two international airports, Ioannis Daskalogiannis airport in Chania and Nikos Kazantzakis airport in Heraklion. During the summer months charter flights fly directly to Crete, but it is also possible to travel to Crete via Athens during the whole year with Olympic Air or Aegean Airlines. The nearest to the villa airport is Chania Airport, 23km (20min drive) away. Heraklion Airport is 128km (80-100min) away. Car is essential.

Kalami is a small traditional village, without many amenities. You will find there a traditional Greek coffee shop (kafenio) and a tavern with home made local food, both with majestic view to Souda Bay. Just 3km away of Kalami is the coastal Kalives village, where you will find everything that you may need: grocery, drag store, bakery, any kind of shops, gas station, bars, taverns and police station.
