A TYPICAL LIGURIAN HOUSE WITH ROOF TERRACE AND STUNNING SEA VIEWS .

Photos and Description of this 2 bedroom holiday home in Manarola - Casa Bella Vista

2 Bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, WiFi, sleeps 6 in 'The Cinque Terre.'

Casa Bella Vista is a typical Ligurian House with stunning sea views .The village of Manarola is situated within the unique landscape of the Cinque Terre National Park. The property has been renovated to a high standard to include WiFi, and accommodation is provided over four floors with the additional benefit of a roof terrace. The ground floor entrance leads to a living and dining area with fully equipped kitchen, with an additional kitchen on the 3rd floor providing access for dining on the roof terrace. Bathrooms are situated on the 1st and 2nd floor, and each include a shower, toilet and bidet. The bedroom on the 1st floor has two single beds, the bedroom on the 2nd floor has a double bed, and a double sofa-bed is available on the 3rd floor. Cars are not permitted to drive into the village, however a public carpark is available. The property is a five minute walk up a steep hill from the centre of the village, and is therefore not ideal for very young children or the infirm.

Getting to Manarola: The most convenient airports for the Cinque Terre are Pisa, Genova (Genoa), and Parma. Travel from the airport to Manarola is best by train, as vehicles are not permitted in the village however parking is available at the top of the village.

A train connection timetable is available, please ask us for the website link.

Local facilities : Manarola has several excellent restaurants and bars, two pizzerias, a gelateria, juice bar and a cash machine. As a working village, it also has two small supermarkets and a pharmacy together with a selection of shops selling locally made gifts and produce.

Out and about: The best way to discover the Cinque Terre is on foot, along the many paths through terraced vineyards and olive groves giving spectacular views of the sea. The five villages of the Cinque Terre, Riomaggiore, Manarola, Corniglia, Vernazza, and Monterosso each have their own unique identity, and a wealth of history to explore.

Further afield, La Spezia is the largest town in the area, and is reached easily by a 10 minute train journey. Portofino and Portovenere are good destinations for a day out by boat direct from the small harbour in Manarola.

A Fabulous location in Manarola

  • 5 out of 5
We have just returned from a truly magical weekend in Manarola. The house is typical of Italian design and is situated in a prime position giving you the most spectacular views from every room. The house has five floors and houses two kitchens and two bathrooms. There is a roof top terrace which is perfect for sunbathing, eating alfresco and watching the sun go down. We would urge others to visit this property and enjoy the whole Cinque Terre experience.

Fabulous!!!

This was an awesome location to visit. This "typical Ligurian house" is far more than the description! Beautiful--just beautiful!! We were a group of 6 adults and the home had plenty of room for all of us. The roof top terrace was breathtaking! It was the perfect place to end our busy days of exploration with a glass of wine and that GORGEOUS view! Of all the 5 communities, we loved Manerola the best! The home was very clean, very accommodating, and very unique! Perfect location with truly fantastic views. The owners were very helpful with the reservation process. One thing--needs a wine opener (good thing I had my own). We highly recommend staying at this unbelievable home!

Situation extraordinaire!

  • 5 out of 5
- l'accès d'un village à l'autre est très aisé soit en train (pas cher), soit en bateau (si la mer n'est pas agitée);

Owner's Response: Description of the apartment is quite consistent with reality as well as pictures: a real house, the most beautiful part of town, quiet (only the sound of the waves!), And close to everything what we can do (hiking, restaurants ...) the view from the terrace is exceptional. In our opinion (after having visited all the villages of the 5 ground), it is in this village that must be! - Everything is functional, well designed, and good taste. - There in the apartment: tourist guides, tourist cards, event idea - a bit steep stairs and narrow to get from one floor to another (4 levels + roof terrace) so be careful to children and the elderly - go eat ice cream with pistachio Corniglia, anchovies (5 specialty ground) Monterosso restaurant "da Oscar" (very simple, typical and excellent) - access from one village to the the other is very easy either by train (cheap) or by boat (if the sea is rough) - if people come by car, parking in paid parking (not guarded) at the entrance of the village , or on the road just in front of the parking (free and licensed), then walk down to the village (500m descent) or "green bus" (1 euro) - walks are numerous, but in May 2013 a lot trails are still prohibited (mudslide) are prohibited: Via dell'amore, the paths of the sea between Manrola and Corniglia and between Corniglia and Vernazza, all others are open and beautiful (you can see the sea from everywhere ) through landscapes of cultures vineyards, olive groves, citrus terraces and shady forests, but ... growing!

Nearly sensational!

  • 5 out of 5
The most beautiful house in the most beautiful place inCinqueterre. Manarola is a place to stay, if you expect not so many touristd running around. And if you like to live like an Italian, then please plan a stay in this great house. I woluld recommend, that you open the window the whole night and you will listen to the sounds of the mediterranean sea but nothing else. The house is very charming, everything you need, is here. You just have to buy some food in the local stores, maybe some wine, for the sundown on the top roof terrace. A perfect holiday stay, you will not find a better place.Otherwise you must tell it me, but I don´t believe. I will defiinitely come back.

Fantastic accomodation

  • 4 out of 5
We spent 5 days in Manarola and the wonderful house Casa Bella Vista situated on the higher part of Manarola. It has all the facilities needed for families or 2 couples. The roof terass is excellent all day long but in particular during the evening watching the sun go down into the sea.
We can strongly recommend a stay in the Casa Bella Vista!

A most delightful place!

  • 5 out of 5
Casa Bella Vista at Manarola is superb. Spacious and well equipped over five floors it had plenty of space for the four of us and would easily have accommodated the 6 people for whom it is intended. The whole house was spotlessly clean and well maintained. There are two living spaces – an area with a kitchen at the lower level designed to remain cool in hot summer weather and another area above the bedrooms at the top for spring, autumn and winter. As we were visiting in October, we only used the upper space and on the warmer days went up a top spiral staircase to the roof terrace. The house, like most in the village, is set into the cliff-side with the lower entrance from one path and, intriguingly, another “front door” to the upstairs living/kitchen area exiting to a higher path. Bedrooms are over two floors in the middle and from all windows there are fabulous views of the bay over to Monterosso al Mare. We used the house as a base for hiking in the terraced vineyards and hills above the Cinque Terre villages and its location could not have been better. The village itself is set within a fold in the steep surrounding hills and getting around it requires a certain amount of fitness. However, up above the village and in the hills the views are stunning. Local facilities are within walking distance or easily accessed by train, so no car is needed. Jo was very helpful both before and after our visit and I would certainly recommend this property to friends and family. I certainly hope to make a return visit before too long!

The unique landscape of the Cinque Terre (the five lands) was listed by UNESCO in 1998 as a World Heritage Site. The National Park now protects the landscape and encourages conservation of the dry stone walls built to cultivate vineyards on the steep terraces that slope down to the sea. The crystal clear waters of the Cinque Terre were made a Marine Protected Area in 1997 to protect the rocky seabed, the habitat of a diverse range of coral. The village of Manarola dates back to the 12th century, and the area remains famous for its white wine, pesto and anchovies. As vehicles are not permitted in Manarola, travel to and within the Cinque Terre is best by train, boat or by foot. The purchase of a 1, 2, 3 or 7 day Cinque Terre Card issued by the National Park enables unlimited use of the trains, buses and paths within the area. The best beaches are at Monterosso and Bonassola which are reached easily from Manarola. However, it is possible to swim off the rocks in Manarola.

Other Activities: kayaking.

My management company that are also based in Manarola, will meet and greet you and show you around the property. They can provide you with information on the local area along with arranging scenic flights, guided hikes, sailing, cookery lessons and a visit to a vineyard.
