Situated in a peaceful location the Aloni Villas, named after the old threshing floor of stone incorporated in the private grounds, are two semi-detached villas completed to an exceptionally high standard. The Villas Ponente and Levante are surrounded by scented gardens. Roses, honeysuckle and jasmine climb and tumble over walls and pergolas. Bougainvillea, oleanders and many other flowering shrubs create a colourful display. There are orange, lemon, nespole, fig and olive trees. Set in the garden is a large swimming pool (11m x 5.5m with a constant depth of 1.35m) and an outside stylish kitchen with barbecue, fridge etc. and an adjacent dining area shaded by a pergola with a table that can seat 10. There are both sunny and shaded areas for relaxing with loungers, side tables, director's chairs and deck chairs. The villas are only 750 metres from the attractive harbour of Agia Efimia with its shops, bakery, bars, tavernas, post office and cash point.

On the 1st floor there’s a king-size double bedroom with air conditioning. French doors lead to a large terrace with a table and chairs. Bedroom 2 is a king-size double bedroom with air conditioning. French doors lead to a balcony. The bathroom is fully tiled with shower area, WC, sink and central heating. On the ground floor there’s a separate WC and sink and an open plan living area. The kitchen features maple coloured cabinets with black granite work surfaces and includes a coffee machine, toaster and kettle and high quality china, glass, cooking utensils/pots and cutlery. Maple dining table, black leather dining chairs are provided. French doors lead to a large terrace containing a mosaic table with matching chairs. The living room has a sofa bed, 2 easy chairs, coffee tables etc. satellite TV, DVD, HiFi and wood burning stove. French doors lead to the same large terrace with a pergola framed by scented Jasmine. In the basement you’ll find a laundry room with iron and ironing board

The Aloni Villas are 750 metres from the picturesque yachting harbour and small coves and beaches of Agia Efimia with its colourful tavernas and bars. There are also supermarkets, bakeries and souvenir shops, a butcher, post office, pharmacy and cash point. In Agia Efimia you can hire cars, mopeds and motorboats and learn how to scuba dive. The famous Myrtos Beach is 5 km away. The port of Sami, where you can get ferries to Patras, Ithaca and other ports, is 8 km away with its many amenities, bank and medical centre. Spectacular Anti Samos Beach just outside Sami was host to the Captain Corelli film. The fascinating Drogorati Caves are 11 km away and the Mellisani Underground Lake, just outside Karavomilos is 6 km. The beautiful peninsular of Assos with its old Venetian fortress and pretty harbour is at a 30 minute drive. The major attraction, the pretty old harbour of Fiscardo is 29 km away. Argostoli, the capital, 31 km from the villas has a wealth of shops, restaurants and bars.

Notes: Although arrival day stated as Tuesday, other days will be considered subject to availability. The villas can be rented individually, but would also be suitable for a party of 2 to 10 wanting shared facilities outside, but individual privacy internally. Consideration would be given to a fifth person using the sofa bed at a rate to be agreed. As the villas are fully central heated and have wood-burning stoves they are very comfortable for holidays in the autumn and winter. There is a maid service three times a week with the linen, towels and pool towels being changed twice weekly. Welcome pack provided. There is a telephone from which you can make local calls and receive incoming international calls. Hair dryers are provided in the bedrooms. Please note that we have a non smoking policy in the bedrooms.

A Great Place to Stay

I have no hesitation in recommending this villa as we have stayed in Ponente Villa, which is one of the Aloni Villas, several times over the last few years and have never failed to be impressed with the stylish accommodation each time. They are beautifully looked after and the fully established garden only adds to the allure. We always look forward to unwinding and relaxing around the fabulous swimming pool with a glass of wine and enjoying the breathtaking views. A completely worry-free holiday is guaranteed especially as the friendly owner is locally based throughout the season and is only too happy to help out with any queries, which is a real boon especially if you are new to the area. Eating out is not a problem as the villa is a short walk away from the village of Agia Efimia with a variety of tavernas along the quay-side.
Another good thing about these villas is that they can be hired out separately or if you wish to bring friends or more family, which we have done in the past, you can hire them as one large villa. We are so looking forward to our next trip to the villa in September.

We returned yesterday from this stunning villa and are so sad to have left. It really is a home from home - the owners have gone to so much trouble to think of everything that you could possibly need. It is beautifully appointed and furnished to an exceptionally high standard. I really dont think the photgraphs can really do this place enough justice !. Tracy and Mario thank you so much for all your help, guidance and care - both prior to arriving and also whilst we stayed at the Villa. We hope to return again next Summer
