The distance from Chania Airport to your destination is approximately 30km. and the drive should take about 45 minutes.On leaving the gates of Chania Airport travel 600m passing a tavern (airport café) and Shell Petrol station on your right and bear LEFT following the sign Chania 14km and Rethymnon 69km. Continue 2,6km until the junction with the roundabout – turn RIGHT following signs for Chania. You will see the ELDA petrol station on your right. Continue for 4,3km passing through Aroni village and some bends. The road widens and you will pass a turn off to your right-signposted Kounoupidiana, Stavros and Technical University of Crete. Continue straight ahead uphill and shortly after is a roundabout. Take the 2nd exit off the roundabout RIGHT which is signposted Souda and Rethymnon. Drive carefully as it winds downhill with some sharp bends and with magnificent views across Souda Bay (for passengers to enjoy!)Continue winding downhill for approx. 5,8 km until you reach a set of traffic lights with the INKA Supermarket on your right hand side. As you get closer to sea level before the traffic lights you will pass a Shell petrol station on your left, you will arrive at a CROSS-ROAD with cafes and fresh fish shops on either side of the road. SLOW DOWN here and then continue straight ahead for a further 200 metres until you reach a SET OF TRAFFIC LIGHTS where you should TURN RIGHT, with the INKA Supermarket on your right. Follow the sign Rethymnon 56. Continue again for 300 metres and at the large unction TURN LEFT following the sign for KISSAMOS.
A few minutes away from the peaceful village of Maleme's shops and tavernas some of which are at the see front.Close to an ancient minoan burrial site.It is worth visiting the old town of Chania(17 km)and the beaches in west Crete (Falaserna-Balos-Elafonisos)
