About this property

Perfect alternative to expensive hotel room without giving up luxury or location! Beautiful historic building completely renovated with all modern amenities and elevator, the building is completely brand new inside, but with original facade outside on popular Huertas street, extremely close to Prado, Thyssen and Reina Sofia Museums and the Palacio Real (Royal Palace), in historic downtown center of Madrid, the famous Barrio de las Letras.

The apartment has a very comfortable Queen bed ( 160 cm )
and 2 sofa beds in the living area. The bedroom has 3 walls and is not totally private. You can see it in the pictures.

I have lived in Madrid for the past decade, glad to help you choose the best places to visit in and around Madrid. The apartment is right next to Plaza de Santa Ana. Near Puerta del Sol and the Plaza Mayor and the Museums.

The Metro subway station is a few steps away, so that you may easily move around Madrid, as well as a short walk to the Atocha Main Train station.

Location

The apartment and location are generally excellent. However, there is proximity to nightclubs which did lead to disturbed sleep on a couple of nights. The noise was not from the night clubs themselves but young people gathering either before after going to the club.

The gold standard for holiday rentals

This was the perfect place in Madrid. Brilliant location, super clean, light, spacious, well equipped and really cleverly organised. All holiday rentals should be like this!

Highly recommended apartment in great location

Clean and well kept property in very secure and lovely apartment building. Location is perfect - real buzz to the area, near bars, restaurants and sights. Pleasant area to wander around. Excellent communication with owner if needed - very welcoming and helpful. Would highly recommend and would stay there again if revisiting.

Lovely apartment

This is a classy, modern apartment. It is in perfect order. It is in a fantastic location in the city - you can walk from it to all the main attractions. We had a terrific time, so thank you Gorete for letting it to us! We intend to come back to stay again. Thoroughly recommended!

A great apartment right in the heart of the city

We stayed as a couple from 23/9 to 26/9 for a long weekend at this apartment and could not fault either the apartment of the location. There is an abundance of restaurants, bars and shops as soon as you walk outside. It's no more than a 5 minute walk to the main square in Madrid's city centre. A special thanks to Gorete who let us in early to the apartment before the normal allocated time of 2pm and allowed us to leave later on in the afternoon on the day of our departure, also there was a nice bottle of wine and water awaiting our arrival – a small touch but these things are what make the difference. I would not hesitate to recommend this apartment to all travellers to Madrid.

Why they chose this property

Location, location, location! This is smack-dab in the middle of the historic Barrio de las Letras (Literature Neighborhood) very romantic, safe and with countless places to eat, people-watch, on a pedestrian street (no traffic).

What makes this property unique

The building was completely gutted a few years ago and they saved the facade and the 100 year old staircase, but everything else is brand-new modern construction and a modern elevator. We have furnished and equipped the apartment with everything we would like to find in a rental, we use VRBO ourselves when we travel so we understand that small details are paramount. Besides, we have lived in Madrid for over a decade, so we are happy to steer you to the best suggestions, whether they are restaurants, site seeing, shopping, trendy restaurants, family places or unique Madrid experiences depending on your date of travel.
