“An Ideal location- comfortable and immaculate apartment !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 week ago for a stay in June 2014
I stayed here for a week at the end of June 2014 with my husband. A really lovely apartment very artistically decorated and supplied everything we needed. It is ideal for 2 but will accommodate 4 with the sofa bed. Everything was immaculately clean and in a good and new condition. Comfy beds with all necessary linen and good powerful shower. Importantly, we were met at the apartment by Ania's parents who showed us where everything is and gave us the keys
The location is iideal being a short walk to the central square Rynek Glowny but if you don't want to walk, there is also a good tram system in Krakow and a tram line on the main road on Karmelicka Street which you come to within a few mins walk down Siemiradzkiego St.(location of apartment).
Siemiradzkiego St has a handy supermarket and a lovely ice cream (loty) shop also several lovely bakery shops ! There are is also a selection of eateries on this street which help to prepare you for the vast choice of excellent and very reasonably priced options in Krakow from the more expensive touristy ones in the central square to the vast range you find as you meander off. Perhaps the best and cheapest may be found in the Jewish quarter of Kazimierz ? You will find an excellent 2 course lunch menu for around 14 zl in a great cafe called Barfly- all tasty home cooked and traditional.
Shop around for currency exchange (kantor) as there is a vast difference and the best we found was at the very end of Karmelicka in a small kiosk before you cross over the main road. Rates vary by more than a few zloty e.g. £100 buys between 515zl or 435zl on one particular day when we were here in July 2014. The difference pays for an extra 4 meals out minimum!
There are many beautiful churches to visit, there interiors are stunning as is most of Krakow. Musical concerts take place all over and some are free ! Prices are not high for anything making it a very attractive option for a trip. There is a lot of cultural interest as well as history to appreciate in Krakow, a fantastic city and its people seem very kind and friendly.
We hope to return to Krakow and would be very happy to stay in this apartment again.
