Photos and Description of this 9 bedroom holiday cottage in Tremolat - Le Castellot
Le Castellot provides an ideal setting for large family holidays in France.
A recently renovated barn conversion with 6-9 bedrooms providing spacious holiday accomodation for multi-family groups (up to 18 people), Le Castellot provides child friendly holidays in France. The accomodation comprises a large converted barn, enclosed garden, separate Summer House with cinema and games room, enclosed pool area and a further playing field.
Huge solar-heated pool (14x6m + 5x5m baby pool) plus private cinema/games room great for all ages especially teenagers (even if it rains).
The barn is situated in the grounds of a 400 year old farmhouse in the Dordogne valley - arguably the most beautiful region in France! The surrounding area is packed with prehistoric attractions, chateaux, bastide towns, watersports, local markets and great restaurants.
The accomodation has been designed with children in mind; after all when the children are happy the adults can relax!
We can provide cots, high chairs, changing mat, pram and push chairs to cut down on the amount of luggage you need to bring.
For older kids there is a separate summer house with table tennis, billiards table and its own cinema and games console. Even if it rains they have plenty to keep them occupied.

About David Quinn
Le Castellot is run by David and Sarah Quinn, with a little help from our 4 children James, Andrew, Naomi and Leo. We moved to the region in 2002 from Berkshire in the UK and have been providing holiday rentals since 2005.
David Quinn purchased this cottage in 2002
Why David Quinn chose Tremolat
The property is 3km outside the pretty village of Trémolat which boasts a fantastic 'Bistro', Pizzaria, and a 5 star restaurant 'Le Vieux Logis'. There is also a mini-market, bakery, post office and an art gallery. Trémolat is also the home of the Bassin Nautique, one of France's top water sports venues where you can try your hand at water skiing or canoeing. There are also two tennis courts available.
Trémolat is centrally situated in the region known as the Perigord Noir which is famous for its fabulous countryside, truffles, Fois Gras, walnut groves and prehistoric sites. Most attractions are within 30 minutes drive.
Every day of the week one of the local towns or villages hosts a Market in the morning; we can provide you with a timetable. Throughout the summer there are also ‘marche gourmands’ in the evening – like a street party - where you can join the locals in a bottle or two of wine and a choice of excellent local food, but you have to get there early to get a seat!
Wine is amazingly cheap in France and wine tours are available in the region for those who wish to delve deeper into the subject.
For those who like fishing, Le Castellot is a 5 minute walk from the river Dordogne.
