We moved to Greece with our 3 kids in 2005. We have built a small tourist accommodation business and our family home, within a 2 acre olive grove facing the sea, to get 'back to our roots'. Living and working closer to the flora and forna of the Mediterranean in a wild and rugged environment, and offering our children an alternative experience.
After the adventures, mishaps and wonders of the initial couple of years, we are now settled into our seaside village life.
We take a pride in cultivating and caring for our 200 majestic olive trees. Pruning and shaping the form for optimum health.
The fruits are harvested by the whole family in late November and all the local groves are a whirl of activity. We bag up the olives and take them to the local press where we enjoy the lively banter with the other farmers. The cold press extraction produces a liquid gold extra virgin oil that is second to none!
We have developed a love for this unspoilt corner of Europe and take great pleasure in hosting guests from all over the world. We intend to help facilitate you enjoying a memorable holiday in this truly wonderful area which has something to offer all ages.

What makes this house unique
All our farming activities incorporate green, organic and sustainable methods. Our aim is to work alongside Nature in a harmonious and respectful manner.
From: cultivating, harvesting, feeding and maintaining our 200 olive trees, vegetable garden and fruit orchards.
We incorporate permaculture methods, helping in maintaining a healthy balanced soil and minimize water usage. All garden plants are endemic and selected to have minimal water requirements and are watered using a drip system, again conserving water wherever possible.
Our chickens are free range and aid us in sharing the kitchen waste with our compost bin as well as providing enormous tasty eggs.
As often as possible we use recycled materials for outside building projects ( greenhouses, pergolas, raised vegetable beds, walls, paths, animal shelters, tree houses etc) either combed from beaches when storms have delivered timbers, or stones and wood recovered from dump sites.
Our swimming pool incorporates the most energy efficient filter system and liner. Thus enabling us to keep her filled with water even in winter and only having to refresh the water by a third instead of 100% every spring.
All produce and products we can not provide for are sourced locally and we encourage our guests in the same way. We provide information from where to buy locally caught fish or visit local artists galleries to which restaurants cook original local cuisine often with ingredients from their own farms.
We are happy to inform guest of any local festivals or cultural events such as Greek dancing or local musical performances either in Methoni or Pylos castles or the surrounding area.
It is our priority to respect our guests privacy and space. However we are happy to be of any assistance or advise or simply to engage in conversation if you fancy.
We encourage recycling of both food ( chickens eat everything left over! compost uses the rest.) and packaging, through recycling bins.
