The best apparentment in the best resort
We (a couple) stayed in the lovely boulevard apparentment for 2 weeks. There was more than enough space for all our things and it was excellent to finally have a proper double bed as in my experience of French accommodation this is very rare. Also plenty of blankets and pillows not that we needed much as the appartment is very warm. The bathroom heater was fantastic for drying wet clothes and the shower was always hot and very powerful, good for massaging your muscles after a hard day on the slopes. Kitchen was fantastic, hob and oven extremely fast to heat up and more pots and pans than I knew what to do with, we could have cooked for 10! The response of the owner to any problems is also worth noting. We didn't have any problems, but thought we should check through the itinerary and email back anything missing, we reported a couple of dead bulbs nothing we couldn't live with, but the next day a representative arrived with replacement bulbs. It's obvious that the owner is proud of the property and upholds a high standard of service and quality. The only thing I would say is that if you're arrivng late at night as we did, (any time after 8pm when the supermarkets are closed) then perhaps bring some toilet roll as there was none in the appartment, although if you don't you can always ask nicely at the residence reception we managed to get some from there. Who, I might add, were really nice and helpful and friendly despite our rubbish French and difficult to understand Scottish accents.
As for the location, it's almost unbeatable, a tiny walk, to a nice easy blue/green run to Mottaret centre where you can get chairlifts to pretty much anywhere in the 3 valleys. At the end of the day you could snowboard right back to the door and there was a handy bench for unstrapping. We managed to snowboard to most resorts, but to be honest the best snowboarding was really to be had in the local area, you've got area43 which is the best part in the whole 3 valleys and so much fantastic off piste that you just don't know where to start. Theres a really nice off piste run to Courchevel from the top of the pas du lac 2 although we weren't too impressed with Courchevel itself, more shopping than snowboarding going on, and 6 euros for a coke! After visiting the les menuires side aswell it was obvious that we had picked the best location in the 3 valleys as that side of the mountain was icey and treeless. Also lifts from Mottaret were the fastest in the 3 valleys!
