An independent house with a magnificent view of the Sognefjord, hardly any neighbours, only
the sound from nature itself, a few seagulls, etc.
Boat belongs to the house
Today is our last day in the cottage.
This weekend we will be home in our flat country.
It was our first time here in Norway and I dare say we spoiled ourselves with the
best view of probable whole Norway!
The first few days we had beautiful, warm seater for this time of the year.
We enjoyed having breakfast, luch and dinner outside.
We went to Lærdal by ferry (beautiful views) on our way back spotted little
dolphins (we never saw one in the wild before, so we enjoyed it very much).
We also went on a little walk along the fjord (weird path on the side of the road
with rocks) which was very nice and gave us beautiful views from the other
side of the fjord and the waterfalls.
We even spotted an otter under the brigade near the Fjordtell!
Asbjörn told us that this does not happen very often.
Tomorrow se will go to Flåm by ferry and take the famous railway to Myrdal.
From there we will take the train to Bergen.
Asbjörn also told us to see the little craftshop. His wife makes beautiful necklaces
(among other things), so I could not rest.
We want to thank Asbjörn and his wife (nice talk we had)
for the hospitality and the peace and quiet that we enjoyed very much.
The view we will never forget and I am sure we will be back sometime in the future!
Even when cloudy or raining there is the magnificent view.
To the next guest we say: Enjoy yourselves!
"Takk for everything!"
We lived in the 2nd home that can be rented from Mr. Ramsöy, very similar to the one offered here. The stay was lovely, it is a very nice house located in a beautiful location at the end of the Naeroyfjord with magnificient views, the area is a Unesco World Heritage site. You can do many nice trips by car in the area, e.g. to Bergen.
The hourse offers 3 bedrooms, kitchen, 2 living rooms, 2 bathrooms, one with shower, the second with toilet and basin.
Mr. Ramsöy was very friendly and helpful and his wife has a nice little shop in Gudvangen town.
Food shopping can be done in the small shop at the Shell station in Gudvangen or some approx. 25 km drive to Aurlandsvangen.

The view from the 3BR 2BA we rented fro Asbjorn was magnificent--the best we have ever seen--and at 77 we've seen hundreds. The home was lovely and well appointed. Asbjorn and Liv were wonderful hosts and very helpful. Liv's gift shop in town--actually only hundreds of yards from our setting--was a delight and Char bought the most beautiful skirt and top for a very reasonable price. We were here a week and could easily have stayed another--maybe all fall. Here's a brief outline of what we did--easily from Gudvangen:
1. 5 hr. roundtrip ferry from Gudvangen to Flam--a must do
2. Train from Flam to Myrdal--spectacular & a must do
3. "Snow road" from Aurland to Stegastein--another must
4. Glaciers and museum in Fjarland. A bit of a drive but an
absolute must. Well worth the drive & spectacular
5. Voss and surrounding countryside--an easy day.
6. A day to relax and just enjoy Gudvangen.
If we wore out the word "spectacular" -- there's a reason--it's quite simply the most beautiful region we have ever visited and the home on the fjord was nothing short of "spectacular".

We were made to feel very welcome by the owners, who were happy for us to play their beautiful grand piano. It's a homely old property with amazing views. Good hikes on hand, and we had a great week. We hope to return.
We are a family of five who just spent a week in Liv Torill's and Asbjorn's charming old house on the top of a hill in Gudvangen. From the house you have a breathtaking view of the beautiful Naeroyfjord and the surrounding steep hills.
We loved the peaceful feeling in the house where everything was clean and made of wood. There are facilities that are important to families like a dishwasher and a washing-machine. The house is big and spacious. The owners live nearby and are very helpful and friendly.
I can recommend a stay at Ramsoy to everyone who wants to feel close to nature but still be in reach of roads and people.

Dear Asbjörn, dear Liv,
Many, many thanks to you for bringing a lot of memories
in this marvellous place enjoying with an amazing view and with peace
of the birds and waterfalls' sound.
We had like to stay more time in your red house, but we must follow
our itenary towards the North, but this is a good thing because it will
obligate us to repeat this experience in your house again!

Only a few hundred meters away from the house you will experience majestic mountains and hear the sounds of roaring waterfalls! During the winter they are frozen and you can listen to the echo of your own voice. Then there are also possibilities of cross-country and downhill skiing only half an hour away at the Myrkdalen Fjellandsby. Nearby attractions are further: Drive the hairpin bends down from the famous view from Stalheim a short distance to the South. To the East travel with the steep Flåm railway where the line goes in stores below each other. The nearest glacier Nigardsbreen can be reached from the house two hours away North-East. When driving west you will first pass the small town Voss, famous for extreme sport, and after two hours the city of Bergen, with the fish market and Unesco site Bryggen.
