Hello and thank you for taking the time to look at my listing! I am a career military officer originally from Austin, Texas finishing my last few years of military service in the DC area. I hope you enjoy your time visiting our nation's capital, and if there is anything I can do to assist, please let me know!

Historic Capitol Hill is truly a downtown suburb that offers all the excitement of the city yet retains a safe and small neighborhood feel. The residents here are a tight-knit group comprised mostly of families who possess a strong sense of community. Nestled within the long rows of neighborhood homes you will find pockets of excitement ranging from a multitude of eating establishments to DC's only remaining original public produce market, known as Eastern Market. And of course it's extremely close proximity to the Capitol and various Smithsonian museums puts you literally at the doorstep of our nation's history. It is an absolutely wonderful location for both residents and visitors alike!
No expense was spared in the complete refurbishment of this house. You will be staying in a historic home complete with modern amenities--1880's on the outside and 2010's on the inside! Location-wise everything you need (restaurants, groceries, shopping, Metro) and everything you want to see (Capitol, Library of Congress, National Mall, Eastern Market, Barracks Row, Smithsonian museums) are just a few blocks away and within easy walking distance. Live amongst the locals and truly feel at home during your visit!
Our entire family was thrilled with this selection. The property was beautifully decorated, quiet, safe, easy to access, etc. The owner was very helpful and responsive. Honestly, the entire family enjoyed everything about this unit and I would go out of my way to rent from this owner. You will not be disappointed with this selection!
This is a beautiful property, nicely designed with 2 bedrooms (one a good size, the other a bit tight), a full kitchen opening into a comfortable living room and dining area. There is also a lovely deck off the living room which must be a wonderful extension of the living room in warmer weather. The property is across the street from a quiet square, very close to Eastern Market, a short walk to the Mall, and in a very safe feeling neighborhood. We'll stay again!
Lovely 2 bed unit in a great location. Only a mile's walk to Capitol Hill and the Smithsonian museums. Restaurants and a little grocery store nearby. The metro is close as well if you want to go further afield.
Stayed for 4 nights and could not ask for anything more. The unit is beautiful even had a deck. Located in a safe neighborhood close to the Capital and Eastern Market. Don't hesitate. We've rented from this owner before and he is A+++
If I had one minor suggestion increase the temperature in the hot water heater.
We checked in on Christmas eve and departed on New Year’s eve. Like the other reviewers, I agree the apartment was beautifully decorated and very clean. The pics are accurate. The patio made for a bright cheerful living room. The location was exceptional a few blocks from the Capitol. It’s a runner’s/walker’s delight. At dawn on Christmas morning I went on a run to the Capitol, the Washington Monument, and the White House. It was surreal with hardly anyone around. It was only me and my BFF’s in the Secret Service. I repeated that run with my daughter and more runs past the Supreme Court to Union Station. On another day we got a bonus warm and sunny day where we discarded jackets and rented some bikes at a bike share kiosk a block away. We rode all over the National Mall for a very memorable family experience.
We have twin teenagers. The girl slept in the second bedroom and the boy slept on the sleeper sofa. We were able to log into our Netflix account on the cable box and did some House of Cards binge watching. There’s a neighborhood grocery across the street for essentials. We had some breakfasts at “home”, but the Eastern Market Crab Benedict on the weekend is not to be missed. After a day of museums we had no desire for a restaurant and enjoyed some pasta, meat sauce, and vino at our cozy apartment. As far as restaurants, there’re are some nice choices a walking distance. We’re family not to pack too much, so we appreciated the washer and dryer. The Wi-Fi like everything else worked flawlessly.
You don’t need a rental car with this location right by a metro station, less than 5 minutes waiting for Uber or a nice run/walk/bike to the sites. The family verdict on this property was a big thumbs up. With its elegance and location, I thought it was a bargain. I’ve been to D.C. many times on business and will be back in April. If I didn’t have to stay at the convention property, I’d preferably stay here.
I am a native to the DC area, and though I have moved away I return several times a year on business. I have rented many apartments over the years, and this is one of the best. It lacks in some amenities that units in larger buildings have (such as an on-site gym), but that is its only drawback. It is spacious, clean, well appointed, comfortable, and the location is great. There are many restaurants right across the street, and a great variety of different ethnic foods. It is two blocks from the Capitol, so my morning runs (even though quite cold in December) afforded beautiful scenery with the Christmas decorations around the Mall. The kitchen is well-equipped. While there are many restaurants I still prefer to cook my own food; there is a quaint, organic market right behind the Eastern Market Metro. This is an ideal place for tourists/sightseers.
