5 very large double bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, every room facing south

The views alone of two “villages perches” (Callian 1.2km) and Montauroux (4km) towering over olive and cypress clad slopes down to the valley and the Massif de L’Esterel beyond are breathtaking. The house itself, set in it’s own terraced olive grove of 4,400sqmtres, is a beautiful renovation of an old stone Provencal building . Every room in the property enjoys the magnificent views. It is fully furnished as a real home which it is for most of the year; is heated throughout and has a/c in the kitchen, although the house is at its best when all 6 French doors are opened on to the terrace and dining deck which overlooks the 10m x 5m heated pool, the boule pit and the olive terraces below. Elsewhere in the garden there are several seating areas with tables both in the sun and/or shade to satisfy every mood. For relaxing indoors we have TV, DVD player, a large selection of DVD's and audio CD's, wireless broadband, an I - Pod docking station, a radio and numerous books and table games.

Further house details: The 5 bedrooms are as follows: 1 master with en suite on the ground floor, so this is ideal for an elderly person or couple. Upstairs there are two further doubles with a shared bath/shower. The other two rooms are private apts. which in addition to shower rooms en suite also have fridges, coffee/tea facilities etc and their own private entrances. One is immediately below the main terrace; the other is on it's own private terrace 10 metres from the main entrance to the house. All bathrooms have heated towel rails and are state of the art.

The house is fully stocked with every accessory required for modern living. There are hairdryers in every bedroom . There is a 'house pack' which we have put together over the years which contains all necessary vital and emergency information and phone numbers. as well as maps, guides, and info on markets, sightseeing, walking, restaurants etc.

The house is totally private but with neighbors above and below at a distance of 100 meters.

All the activities listed on the summary are within easy access of the house. Fayence, besides being a beautiful and buzzy hilltop village is also one of the most renowned gliding centers in France. Piloted flights for visitors are easily arranged (have lunch at the flying club first; it's great value and you can watch the take-offs and landings while you eat)

There are several golf courses within easy driving distance of the house including the magnificent Four Seasons 'Terreblanche' golf resort and spa which is literally 5 minutes away.

Lac du Cassian with sailing, fishing, kayaking and picnicking is 10mins away by car; the beach and nightlife of Cannes 30 mins.

Rental includes supply of all towels, bed linen etc.

Callian, 10 minutes walk away along a pleasant wooded path with wonderful views, is a classic small hilltop village with a good array of local village shops, including the baker, butcher, chemist, small supermarket etc.

It also has 2 bars and 4 restaurants, and a very beautiful old church. Montauroux, 4k east and Fayence 6k west, both bigger than Callian, are both beautiful hilltop villages which have even more choices. The western Var is one of the most beautiful areas of France with access not only to the mountains, gorges and rivers of the lower Alpes Maritimes, but is also within 20 minutes of the sea, 30 minutes from Cannes/Nice and only 1 hour to Monte Carlo.

    End of stay cleaning charge of Euro300 will be added to bill at Owners discretion
    We operate an 'honesty box system' whereby renters normally arrive to find house stocked. This only works if each rental party replaces the provisions they themselves have used.
  • Deposit of 3000 Euro against damage. This can be paid via PayPal and will be refunded immediately after rental period subject to no damage occurring. In all years we have let the house, we have only once levied a charge: for a ripped duvet cover.

We have no children and the house furnishings reflect that. This is our home and we let it out for only 2 months of the year. It is furnished as a home, not a 'holiday let', and for this reason we ask for a substantial deposit against breakages. We leave the house as we would leave it for friends. All linen, domestic towels and pool towels are provided. The house will probably be fully stocked with provisions, refrigerated and frozen food, as well as wines and spirits when you arrive. All that we ask is that you treat it as if it were your own home, and that you replace or restock with similar quality items anything that you have used or consumed, so that if we ourselves or other guests are arriving immediately after you leave, we can all can enjoy the same welcome and hospitality that you found when you arrived.
