"Perfect Holiday... Fantastic property, beautifully situated..." ~ Noreen M.

Welcome to Sea View Haven, the perfect place to relax and unwind. Enjoy the peace and tranquillity of this modern self catering house along the Wild Atlantic Way and just off the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Scenic Route.

Sea View Haven is located on a 1 acre site with a private garden over looking the Bay area. Situated off a quiet country lane with very little traffic you can take time out to relax and enjoy the wonderful views of the sea and mountains surrounding the house.
We think we have the best views in the area taking in all of Reenroe beach with stunning views across Ballinskelligs Bay from Waterville to Hogs Head. And we are not the only ones who think this . Our guests have commented many times too on the wonderful views while staying at Sea View Haven. It was one of the many highlights of their holiday.

"...breath taking views that change hourly" ~ Emma C.

There is plenty to do if you feel like a bit of exercise too! We have quiet country lanes, the Emlagh Loop Walk, Reenroe beach to mention just a few nearby. Great for cycling, walking or jogging. The house overlooks the beautiful Reenroe beach - perfect for walking, safe swimming or making sandcastles. Hiking, golf, horse riding, fishing, bird watching are some of the activities you can enjoy in the area as well as water sports on the beach during the summer months. There is something for everyone to enjoy while staying at Sea View Haven.

"Fantastic location to explore the many attractions of the Ring of Kerry. " ~ Stephen

Sea View Haven is an excellent base for you to explore what Ballinskelligs, Waterville, The Glen and surrounding areas have to offer. We are situated just off the Ring of Kerry route, the Wild Atlantic Way and the Skellig Ring Drive. Portmagee and Valentia Island and Caherciveen are also well worth a visit and an easy drive from the house.

This modern home is located in a peaceful and private setting with a secluded garden and away from busy roads and traffic. The living and dining room command panoramic views of Reenroe beach, Waterville and Ballinskelligs Bay. This is the place where you can relax and enjoy the views no matter what the weather.

The modern kitchen is fully equipped with appliances including a Rangemaster cooker, microwave, coffee machine and dishwasher. Views of the Bay can be seen from the living room and kitchen or outside from the private veranda or patio area. On a clear night you get a wonderful view of the stars overhead. The area is part of the International Dark Skies Reserve.

"The cottage is great... we felt at home... We have had a great stay, it’s a magnificent part of the world. ~ Anne C.

Situated on a secluded 1 acre site, 2,000 sq feet, the house sleeps 8 people comfortably. Two of the four bedrooms are ensuite and located upstairs. The large main bathroom is located on the ground floor and has a whirlpool bath and walk in power shower. There are also two twin bedrooms on the ground floor. The utility room is large and comes equipped with a washing machine and separate dryer as well as plenty of storage space for bikes and fishing gear.

Outside there is a lovely private garden with a patio area - a beautiful setting to have your lunch or relax as you enjoy a drink of your choice after a day of exploring. The lovely veranda also offers wonderful views, where you can sit and enjoy the surrounding country side - sea, mountains and green fields and stars. So just relax and enjoy the superb views - it doesn't get much better than this!

"Lovely evenings looking out at sea in a very peaceful setting" ~ Jill H.

Beaches, shops and pubs are only a short drive away. Sea View Haven is suitable for couples and families - anyone who loves nature, walks on the beach and exploring the countryside. This house is an ideal place to base yourself while you explore and enjoy all that the area has to offer.

On a clear night the stars overhead are spectacular. The area is part of the International Dark Sky Reserve and one of only 3 Gold Tier Dark-Sky Reserves in the World. That means you get to experience an amazing night sky full of stars and all from the comfort of Sea View Haven.

Whether you are relaxing in the living room or enjoying breakfast on the veranda Sea View Haven offers you wonderful views sea and mountains. It is these views coupled with the peace and tranquillity of the setting that many of our guests comment on as being one of the highlights of their trip. In the evening you can watch the lights of Waterville flicker across the bay as the sun sets and enjoy a glass of your favourite drink.

Beaches, Water Sports, Fishing, Golf:
Sea View Haven is just a few minutes drive from the famous 'Wild Atlantic Way'. The beaches in the vicinity are some of the best in Kerry. Reenroe beach is the closest and you can see it clearly from the house. It is only a couple of minutes drive away and is great for walking, surfing, horse riding, fishing, swimming and great for building sand castles too! Surfing classes are held here regularly, during the summer months. The area is great for bird watching enthusiasts.

We are also within easy reach of the wold famous Waterville Golf Links and the newly opened Hogs Head Golf club.

Ballinskelligs beach is another popular beach only 5 minutes drive away. Boats can be hired locally for sea angling trips and there are plenty of operators to choose.

Walking, Hill Walking, Cycling:
There are many local walks and cycling routes of various levels and abilities, all with great views of the country side. Bicycles can be hired locally in Caherciveen and the house has a large utility room/garage area where you can store bikes and fishing rods.

We highly recommend the National Trail Emlagh Loop walk which is easily accessible from the Sea View Haven. On this National Loop Walk you experience the beauty of the countryside, local bog lands and Reenroe beach.

Why not visit the Cill Rialaig Famine Village, Cill Rialaig Artist’s Retreat, and the early Christian ruins of Cill Rialaig monastic settlement with Oratory and perhaps stop off at the Cill Rialaig Art Gallery and Cafe in Dungeagan Village or Barbara's coffee shop in Ballinskelligs for refreshments. There are many other walks in the area, including Bray Tower and Geokaun Mountain in Valentia, details of which are provided in our guide book in the house or from the local tourist office.

Skellig Michael and Star Wars Film
A trip to the world famous Skelligs Rock UNESCO herritage site is a must. This is also a location for the recent Star Wars film. Boats leave during the Summer months from Ballinskelligs and Portmagee - a short drive away.

The Skellig Rock is now also famous for its Hollywood connection. It is in the recently released Star Wars movie The Force Awakens. You can easily organise a trip locally to this famous rock while staying at Sea View Haven.

Other Local Attractions and Eating Out:
There is plenty to see and do locally. Visit Valentia Island to see the Slate Quarry, Grotto and Light House or try candle making with the kids. Tour the Skellig Ring and the Ring of Kerry. Visit Skellig Chocolate factory in St. Finans Bay (The Glen) and sample their award winning chocolate.

Cill Rialaig pre-famine village is located in Ballinskelligs and Cill Rialaig Art Gallery and Cafe is located in Dun Geagan village which is two miles away. You will be spoilt for choice if you wish to go hill walking or cycling and there are many archaeological sites of interest in the area.

There are plenty of places to choose from for eating out from cafes to pub food to gourmet restaurants. Fresh seafood is a speciality in many restaurants and pubs. Many pubs have traditional Irish music and dancing nights which are well worth going to see.

'Céad míle fáilte' - a hundred thousand welcomes to Sea View Haven! :-)

Splendid isolation and fantastic location
Very spacious house with wonderful views. Comfortable and under floor heating meant always right temperature. Liking a log fire, this never needed. Being Kerry, one needs to be prepared for all weathers. This house very well suited to sitting in for hours -days where that weather forbids going out. Recommended, and without qualification would return for future trips

A great week at Sea View Haven
For some of us this was their first visit to Ireland, and for the remainder, their first visit to Kerry for many years. My only regret is that we had left it so long. Maybe it was because the weather was pretty good, that we enjoyed ourselves so much, but your house certainly helped. We all loved the spaciousness of the house and garden, the proximity to the beach and the variety of things to do. Thank you for leaving some provisions in for us, but where was the case of wine ? (joke). One or two very minor issues -maybe other British guests might have wanted to watch UK TV stations, although we were quite glad to get away from them. CDs are old technology now, but I would have liked to play some of ours. Overall, this was a memorable holiday . Thank you, Roger Johnson

Excellent house in an excellent location
We stayed here with our two daughters for two weeks. We’re regular visitors to Kerry, and this house gave us a great base to do the things we love doing in the Kingdom, as well as the opportunity to explore new places and experiences. The house itself is spacious and well laid out. It was very clean and had everything required for a great stay. The large utility room Is great, especially if you’re travelling with kids, as it can be used for getting ready for/coming back from beach excursions/long walks etc. The views from the house towards Reenroe Beach are amazing and can be enjoyed on the strand-facing veranda. The ample and private garden was great for our children. They spent plenty of time running around outside. We also had the bonus of watching Irish hares visit and play in the garden. The wood burning stove provides a great atmosphere in the evening and it’s fantastic to be able to have the fire on the go, look out at the sea and enjoy a glass of wine and a book. That’s another thing - a great library of classic literature, Irish interest (cuid acu as Gaeilge), contemporary fiction and non-fiction. Great added bonus if you enjoy reading. All in, we had a superb holiday here despite the weather being changeable at times, and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Go raibh míle maith agaibh Maria agus John, is tá súil againn go mbeidh muid ábalta a theacht ar áis am éigean sa todhchaí.

Large house with sea view
We did manage to have a lovely time here, and thoroughly enjoyed the changing sky and sea views. We were visited by a beautiful Irish Mountain Hare, loved listening to the birds, and saw some amazing starry nights. We were well situated to explore the Ring of Kerry and the Ring of Skellig. The owner, who does not live locally, was very welcoming by email and sent us a detailed list of directions, house rules, suggestions for restaurants and places to visit. There was mention of an instruction book in the house, but we didn't find one. We didn't fully appreciate how isolated the house was, but we did find it, and got used to the narrow, hedgerow-lined commute. Unfortunately, the house smelled badly of insecticide when we arrived, with a competing musty odor, and appeared not to have been used in a long time. But we swept up the dead flies and aired things out as best we could. I don't know if this is standard for Ireland, as this was our first visit, but some basic supplies were not provided. There was only one roll of toilet paper per bathroom - no extras. There was almost no dish soap, so we had to add water to the tiny bit that was there. There was no laundry soap, so our plans to do laundry on the last day before heading to Wales, was thwarted. There was no soap or shampoo for the shower. These are all things that could be easily fixed to make the next visitors feel more welcome and less hassled with small details while on vacation. Also, the light switches for the outdoor lights were taped off for some unknown reason. And there were no smoke detectors, even in the kitchen. There were several empty hooks on the walls, where there may have been a picture in the past. Thankfully, the beds were comfortable. This house has a lot of potential and with a few minor touchups could be amazing.

We grew up in the area and then moved to other parts of Ireland over the years to work. Ever opportunity we get we come back to visit this wonderful location and in 2005 we decided to build a holiday home here.

Why they chose this property

Of all the places we have travelled there is nowhere quiet like the location of Sea View Haven. It's beautiful views and proximity to beaches and wonderful walks are what attracted us to this place. There is no better view, we think, then the one from Sea View Haven. We hope that you too will enjoy our wonderful holiday home. Welcome to Sea View Haven! We hope you enjoy staying at this wonderful bit of heaven as much as we do. Céad míle fáilte - a hundred thousand welcomes!

What makes this property unique

Put simply we fell in love with Sea View Haven because of it's amazing views and quiet location. This makes it unique from any other house in the area. From the living room, the patio and veranda you can see mountains, sea/beach along with forestry and fields. This view of nature is simply wonderful and we think it is the best view in the area!

The other unique aspect to Sea View Haven is the privacy. It has its own private road access and secluded garden. So that means no busy roads close to the entrance - making it safe for children to play outside the house. Peace and relaxation in abundance..... :-) Enjoy Sea View Haven.
